STEAM FRIENDS INVITE CRASH FIX + MORE

[p]hello players![/p][p][/p][p]we're currently aware of a bug involving steam invites that crashes the game, and are working on a fix. for now, when you create a lobby, set it to "public" and join your friends using the lobby code. we're hoping to resolve this issue within a day or two. the upcoming patch will include a few more online improvements to connections and stability as well.[/p][p][/p][p]our next patch will also include CPU AI updates. the CPU's are now smarter and play a bit more like humans, and because of the new systems, it will now be easy for us to create different difficulty levels for the CPU's in a future update.[/p][p][/p][p]A FEW QUICK MATCHES has been announced as a main title for PLATFIGHT ONLINE, an upcoming online tournament that celebrates platform fighters. there will be a $2000 pot bonus for this event, plus some exclusive AFQM merch! you can find out more details and register for the tournament for free here:[/p][p]PLATFIGHT ONLINE INFO / REGISTRATION[/p][p][/p][p]we're also still planning out workshop implementation and are working on some more content for the game as well. progress was slow recently because both of the main developers were moving houses. we'll be more active now as we're settling into our new places![/p][p][/p][p]-pluto[/p]

- players who were unable to connect to our servers should now be able to play online matches
- players in the same house or on the same internet connection should now be able to play together
- players who could connect occasionally should now always be able to connect
- improved connection stability overall
- improved ping calculations
- fixed an issue where spectator mode would crash the game
- fixed input delays needing to be synced
- fixed an issue where delay would be set too high for the first match

- you can now make public, private, or friends only lobbies
- you can search a public lobbies list to find open lobbies
- you SHOULD be able to join lobbies through your steam friend's list

if there are no more major crashes after today, we plan on merging the online beta into the official version of the game this week! our focus will be shifting to workshop soon.

[h2]## MAIN VERSION ##[/h2]
- fixed a bug that could cause you to lose multiple stocks at once (seriously...it's fixed....i swear)
- percents now reset to zero as soon as you die, rather than when you respawn. this fixes an issue where you could actually lose the game even if you were ahead in certain situations when the game went to time

[h2]## ONLINE BETA ##[/h2]
- (NOTE: when connecting with someone, your delay may be set too high for the first game. it will correct itself after game 1, but steam spikes ping when you connect, causing our game to assume you have higher ping than you really do. we are working on a fix)
- default delay set back to 2 instead of 0 (caused many desyncs. rollback requires a little delay at least)
- fixed various crashes relating to connections and niche situations
- improved connection strengths. connections should be smoother overall
- ping predictiions should be better
- delay is now synced between players to avoid crashes (it will always take the higher delay)

ONLINE REWORK BETA BRANCH IS NOW LIVE

our online rework using steam servers is finally available to test! we plan on fixing any issues this weekend and releasing the proper official update sometime next week.

[h3]right click the game in your library > properties > betas > type "wifiwarriors"[/h3][p][/p][h3]NOTE: SET YOUR INPUT DELAY BACK UP TO 2 IF YOU EXPERIENCE MAJOR LAG SPIKES. WE HAVE IT SET TO ZERO BY DEFAULT IN THE BETA, BUT ROLLBACK WORKS BETTER WITH 1-2 FRAMES OF DELAY.

if you weren't able to play online at all until this point, this should allow you to do so. you can only play with other players on the beta branch, so make sure all of your friends switch to it as well if you are testing. [/h3][p][/p][h3]expect some bugs/issues/crashes this weekend while we work out any problems before a full release. please report any issues in ⁠our discord's "bug-reports" section and use the new tag "online rework beta."
