The 1st Qualifying Round of Fishing Planet Anniversary Cup is over and we’re ready to announce its results! Keep in mind, it was only the 1st Qualifier of three to get through to the FPAC Semifinal Round! That means that if for whatever reason your performance wasn’t quite at its prime and you didn’t make it to the top 20 Qualifier finalists, you still have 2 more chances to succeed! And the best part, next one’s right around the corner - taking place August 9th on on Lake Saint-Croix in Michigan! But for now, these are the 20 anglers now qualified to compete in the Semifinal Round on August 12th, Alaskan Kaniq Creek!

This is one hot summer we are having, eh, folks? Well, maybe not so much in terms of the weather, as in fishing tournaments! Of course, August brings you yet another thrilling competitive event that is double special for us! Wanna know why? Well, we’re talking about Fishing Planet Anniversary Cup - a dear-to-our-heart Sportfishing Tournament that we’re hosting to celebrate our yearly anniversary of coming out on Steam!

FPAC tournament is all about catching Salmon in various beautiful destinations like White Moose Lake, San Joaquin Delta and Lake Saint-Croix! Making your way from the Qualifiers to the Semifinal, you’ll have to prove your Salmon catching skills to take part in the unforgettable Grand Finale in Mongolia, on the mesmerizing Selenge River and become the Salmon fishing Champion!

Join us in this symbolic Fishing Planet birthday celebration by Enter the Fishing Planet Anniversary Cup, passing the Qualifiers, getting to the Final Round and competing against the very best to ultimately become the Salmon fishing Champion!

First-place winner and the two honorable runner-ups will get valuable prizes in addition to the well-known tournaments prizes!

Fishing Planet Anniversary Cup will be held August 08th through August 13th, with the Registration starting on August 7th, 24 hours prior to the First Qualifier. The Tournament’s timetable is as follows:

• 07th of August - Registration for the FPAC Tournament begins.
  
• 08th of August - Qualifier 1 on the snowy White Moose Lake in Alberta, Canada.
  
• 09th of August - Qualifier 2 on Lake Saint-Croix in Michigan.
  
• 10th of August - Qualifier 3 on San Joaquin Delta in sunny California.
  
• 12th of August - Semifinal Round on the mesmerizing Kaniq Creek in Alaska.
  
• 13th of August - the Grand Finale on Mongolia, Selenge River

Well, this year’s most epic Trout fishing tournament, the Independence Trout Open is officially over! The Grand Finale was quite a battle of its own, in which 20 best Trout anglers fought for the title of ITO Champion on the waters of lovely Falcon Lake - every Trout angler’s paradise! And finally, we can name this year’s three ITO Champions along with our glorious Top-10, who skillfully handled this challenging competition throughout all of its exciting stages! Congrats to the winners and Tight Lines to all! Keep practicing, cuz there are many more fun tournaments and competitions to come!

Welcome to the Third Diary of our diary series about the upcoming updates!

We want to introduce you to Pulling-up, a new fishing mechanic we are very excited to implement.

As our mission is to create a fishing experience that is as close to real life as possible, we constantly improve our in-game fishing techniques and create new fishing opportunities for our players.

An angler can easily reel in the line at maximum speed when fishing for small fish. However, as the size of the fish increases, it becomes more and more difficult to spin the reel. A certain threshold occurs when force is applied to a heavy load, so our point is to reduce side effects and expand your fishing experience by bringing in a new pulling-up mechanic.



Pulling up consists of constant, repeatable actions of sharply pulling the line, losing the line, reeling in the loose line and pulling it sharply again.
There are a few ways to pull the line sharply:

• Sharply raise the rod up (RMB (PC), LT (XBOX), L2(PS))
  
• Body rotation (mouse movement (PC), right stick of the controller (PS/Xbox)
  
• Character movement (character movement buttons (PC), left controller stick (PS/Xbox))
  

When fishing for a heavyweight fish, it is very important to safely take it out of the water. In such cases, we commonly use a landing net.

Landing Net

For fish over 5 kg, there will be a net landing system, as it is necessary to make sure big fish is caught safely. The landing net will become an integral part of the inventory and will be available to every player starting from level 1. It is an important and much-needed update, as with the release of ocean fishing, there will be a lot of big fish!!
