Bug Fix Patch Note - Version 5.014

[p][/p]
Dear Anglers,
[p]Last night we urgently released a hot fix patch to address some of the most common issues that occurred after the Maldives Update. [/p]
Here is what’s new:
1. [p]Resolved an issue of players not being able to take out their rod or rod stands on the waterways[/p]
 2. [p]Fixed an issue when players didn’t get strikes when trying to complete the tutorial[/p]
 3. [p]Fixed an issue of balancing the amount of environmental objects appearing at the location depending on the player’s video settings[/p]
 4. [p]Resolved a bug when some words on the buttons appeared in other languages[/p]
 5. [p]Fixed an issue with Chamaeleon Cruiser Pack appearing incorrectly in the Store in Polish localization[/p]
 6. [p]Fixed an issue when some players couldn’t enter the game[/p]
Known Issues
[p]We also received reports about other issues that some of you experienced and we want to keep you in the loop about them:[/p][p][/p]
 1. [p]We know many of you experience freezes when entering the menu or trying to move items in the Inventory. The root cause of the issue was found - and it appears to be quite complex and needs a few technical updates on our side. We already started doing them, but it will still require a few days to complete this process. We are doing everything possible (and some impossible things) to fasten it.[/p]
 2. [p]The issue with the black screen when entering photo mode unfortunately returned - and it has another cause than it had before - it’s being actively investigated and we hope it will be fixed within the next few days.[/p]
 3. [p]We also know that some players had issues when catching big fish (over 500kg) and on the last 2-3 meters the gaff animation doesn’t get triggered. This is being addressed as well.[/p]
 4. [p]Some of you are getting an error when trying to enter the game. We found that it helped some players to update their OS to the latest version and re-install the game. If you are experiencing something similar, please try these steps and if it doesn’t resolve the issue, contact [email protected].[/p]
 5. [p]We are also investigating the nature of other crashes or freezes not related to entering the menu and inventory, thanks to everyone who reported the issues and helped our investigation.[/p]
[p][/p][p]If you are experiencing any of the issues listed above, please just wait for the fix that is on its way. No need to report them again, we already have enough information to prepare the fixes.[/p][p][/p][p]We also get many-many questions about when the Maldives map will be released on consoles and mobile platforms. Believe us, there is nothing in the world that we want more right now than to release it for all the platforms as soon as possible. But first, we need to stabilize the Steam and Epic Games versions with a few more hotfixes. Once that’s done, we’ll focus on getting the update to all other platforms. Thanks so much for your patience.[/p][p][/p]
Server Reboot
[p]Last, but not least, we want to inform you that tomorrow, June 20 at 5:05 AM UTC there will be a server reboot with an estimated downtime of 10 minutes. This is one of the things we need to do to stabilize the system after the release.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you for your incredible patience, understanding, and all the fast bug reports. We truly hope you’re still enjoying your time in the Maldives — more improvements are on the way![/p][p][/p][p]Tight lines![/p]

DevDiary: Gearing Up for the Maldives

[p]
Hey Anglers,

We've seen incredible interest in the first two DevDiaries covering the upcoming Maldives location and the vibrant ocean life of Noomaa Kuda Atholhu. But we also know that it’s the new gear that really hooks your attention! In this DevDiary, we're excited to reveal the latest additions and the shiny new treasures you'll soon get your hands on.

The new Maldivian update introduces a full set of gear tailored for saltwater fishing — dozens of items built to handle the ocean’s harshest conditions. New tackle materials and technologies offer improved resistance to saltwater corrosion, ensuring lasting performance out at sea. And when it comes to landing true ocean giants only the most powerful rods and reels will do. Time to get ready for the big fight!

[/p]
Saltwater Bottom Spinning Rods
[p]
The first thing we want to introduce is saltwater bottom spinning rods. This specialized gear is designed for targeting fish species that live close to the ocean floor. It combines the sensitivity and versatility of spinning setups with the strength and durability needed for deep-sea conditions. Anglers use this method to catch bottom-dwelling predators like Groupers, Snappers, Amberjacks, and reef fish species that typically hide around reefs, rocks, and underwater structures.

These rods have a strong backbone and a sensitive tip, allowing anglers to detect subtle bites and apply the power needed to lift heavy fish from the depths. They're paired with saltwater spinning reels that offer high drag capacity and corrosion resistance, making them ideal for the challenges of bottom fishing in saltwater environments.

[/p]
KarasuTōha™
[p]
Designed for challenging offshore conditions, this short yet incredibly strong rod provides maximum control over heavy fish while maintaining sensitivity for precise bait presentation. Featuring HikariFlex™ infused construction, this rod remains lightweight without compromising durability, allowing anglers to detect even the slightest movements. TensaiCore™ multi-directional carbon reinforcement ensures superior strength, handling extreme loads with ease. The ergonomic TatsukoGrip™ EVA handle provides a secure and comfortable grip, reducing fatigue during intense fights.

[/p]
Commander™
[p]
It is designed for long-distance casting and versatility. This rod excels in both boat and shore fishing. Its durable yet lightweight construction provides the perfect balance of power and sensitivity, making it ideal for targeting medium to large fish. FaVortex™ technology enhances casting accuracy by optimizing the rod's aerodynamics, ensuring smooth, controlled long-range casts. Meanwhile, FaLineFlow™ minimizes friction with precision-placed guides, improving line release and maximizing casting distance. Reinforced with corrosion-resistant components, this rod is built to withstand the toughest saltwater conditions while delivering reliable performance.

The new location features approximately 55 atolls, small islands, and ocean spits you can step onto from your boat, making onshore fishing a big part of the experience. That’s why we’ve prepared specialized gear for long-distance casting — this lineup features the longest Bottom Spinning Rod in the game. It’s perfect for targeting massive bottom-dwelling fish like Grouper from the shores of the lagoons.

[/p]
Saltwater Casting and Spinning Rods
[p]
Saltwater casting and spinning rods aren’t new to you, but we’re expanding the lineup with even more powerful gear built to handle massive ocean predators—this time with a focus on trolling.

[/p]
Kōdo Kage™
[p]
Designed for high-power offshore trolling, this saltwater casting rod delivers strength and precision for battling extra-large fish. The curved butt section provides better leverage, reducing strain during prolonged fights. Its medium length balances power and control. Built with TensaiCore™, the multi-directional carbon fiber core ensures high durability under heavy loads. The RyuKen™-reinforced tip adds strength while maintaining flexibility for precise hook sets. TatsukoGrip™ high-density EVA handle offers a secure hold, even in wet conditions. Made for deep-sea trolling, this rod is built to handle the ocean's toughest predators.

[/p]
MizuJigu™
[p]
It is a set of short yet powerful saltwater spinning rods designed for handling medium to large fish. Built for balance and sensitivity, they combine cutting-edge materials with advanced engineering to maximize casting efficiency and durability. Featuring HikariFlex™, these rods utilize ultra-thin graphene layers for strength, allowing anglers to detect the lightest bites while maintaining full control. TensaiCore™ reinforces the blank with multidirectional carbon fiber and nanoceramic layers, ensuring durability under extreme pressure. The TatsukoGrip™ ergonomic handle offers a secure, fatigue-free grip, making long fishing sessions more comfortable.

[/p]
BreakwaterX™
[p]
Engineered for long-distance casting, these rods excel both from shore and boat, providing effortless control and sensitivity. Featuring DynamicCore™, the blank is constructed with advanced lightweight composites, offering excellent flexibility to absorb sudden movements without sacrificing strength. FaVector™ reinforces the rod with high-tensile polymer layers, ensuring a perfect balance between power and sensitivity—allowing anglers to detect subtle bites while maintaining complete control over their catch. With an ergonomic, non-slip EVA handle and a perfectly balanced design, this rod delivers comfort, precision, and reliability in every cast.

[/p]
Saltwater Casting and Spinning Reels
[p]
[/p]
Jōnin™
[p]
Our favorite item in this update is the asymmetrical Jōnin™, a saltwater casting reel engineered with cutting-edge Rinkaku® technology. Its frame, inspired by the natural flow of ocean currents, enhances ergonomics and torque distribution for smooth, efficient retrievals under heavy pressure. The KaijutsuShield™ triple-layer corrosion protection defends against salt, sand, and wear, while Shinobi™ precision gear alignment minimizes noise and vibration, ensuring ultra-smooth performance in the toughest conditions.

[/p]
Tengu Kai™
[p]
It is a saltwater spin reel designed for smooth, effortless retrievals under extreme strains. Its full metal body ensures strength and stability under heavy loads. The KaijutsuShield™ corrosion-resistant sealing protects internal components from saltwater and debris, guaranteeing long-term reliability. Additionally, Shinobi™ silent gear alignment minimizes noise and vibration for an ultra-smooth experience. Whether battling big fish offshore or enduring rough waters, this reel is built to perform.

[/p]
JigokuTen™
[p]
This saltwater spin reel combines durability and precision. Its lightweight construction ensures easy handling, making it ideal for long fishing sessions. Designed for small to medium-sized fish, it features RyuGear™ multi-layered steel gears for smooth power transfer and KaijutsuShield™ triple-layer corrosion protection to withstand tough marine environments. JigokuTen™ is a perfect mix of durability and sensitivity for jigging.

[/p]
BossCast™
[p]
Designed for versatility, these durable saltwater spin reels are perfect for long-distance casting and handling medium to large fish. The combination of TorqueFlow™ technology for smooth torque under heavy loads and HydroLock™ sealing for unmatched water resistance ensures flawless performance in all conditions. With a lightweight construction and advanced balance provided by FaBalancePro™, these reels offer reliability, comfort, and precision for extended fishing sessions.

[/p]
XCurrent™
[p]
It is a saltwater spin reel that delivers consistent power and smooth performance under extreme conditions. FaLight™ aerospace-grade aluminum construction keeps it lightweight yet durable, reducing fatigue on long trips. TorqueFlow™ precision-machined gears provide consistent torque, ensuring seamless power transfer when fighting fish. For ultimate protection, HydroLock™ triple-layer sealing safeguards internal components from salt, water, and debris, extending the reel’s lifespan.

[/p]
Terminal Tackle
[p]
Lines are getting stronger to handle bigger fish, and a brand-new series is making its debut—Saltwater Fluoro Lines. These fluorocarbon lines offer superior clarity in the water, making them less visible for fish and as a result scaring them off less. While fluoro lines are less powerful than mono lines in general, they outperform mono of the same diameter when it comes to strength—making them a top choice for stealthy, heavy-duty saltwater fishing.

Saltwater Fluoro lines will go in two colors—clear and transparent pink that blends seamlessly underwater making it even harder for fish to detect.

A new Color Series of Saltwater Mono Lines is also on the way—thinner yet stronger than the current options in the game. These lines feature fresh, eye-catching colors that stand out above the water for better visibility, while remaining subtle below the surface to avoid spooking fish — making them a perfect addition to your vibrant gear collection. Available in muted blue and striking purple options.

Saltwater Titanium Leaders are now being added to the game—and we know you’ve been waiting for them! While titanium is known for its strength and resistance to bite-offs, it’s also quite visible in clear ocean water. That’s why the saltwater version comes with a silicone coating—making them less noticeable and more flexible. These leaders will help you handle toothy predators with greater confidence. Just keep in mind—saltwater fish are clever, and some may still get suspicious when they spot a leader! 😄

Another cool addition in this update will be extra strong and sharp Saltwater Hooks with a specialized geometry for better hooking efficiency. Since the Maldives will be home to a variety of relatively small coral reef dwellers, you'll also get smaller-sized saltwater hooks designed specifically for targeting these fish. Overall, the range of saltwater hook sizes is expanding.

You’ll also get new Saltwater Sinkers with a unique design—featuring an elongated body and a ball-shaped end to enhance stability and sinking performance. Ideal for rough waters and strong currents.

[/p]
Saltwater Lures
[p]
For those chasing topwater predators, there’s something new to try — Saltwater Poppers. These new lures ensure maximum splash and attraction, while the reinforced body construction provides long-lasting performance. Equipped with strong single hooks for improved catch efficiency.

Another shiny addition that true anglers will fancy are Saltwater Stealth Poppers designed for surface hunters. Equipped with two treble hooks for a secure hold, ensuring your catch has no chance to escape.

Saltwater Spoons share the classic design of their freshwater counterparts but are built to withstand the harsh conditions of saltwater fishing. A must-have for coastal fishing and slow speed trolling, designed to attract a variety of ocean predators. Their simple design makes them a reliable choice for targeting predators in open water or near structures. A timeless tool with solid performance.

Luminous Trolling Octopuses feature a glow-in-the-dark design, making it highly effective for deep-water and night fishing — a popular choice in the Maldives, where a wide variety of fish are actively feeding after dark. With lifelike tentacles and durable silicone construction, it provides realistic movement that attracts predators like Swordfish even in low-light conditions. Perfect for trolling at all speeds.

There’s also something new coming for trolling fans — Trolling Skirt Rig — a highly popular large silicone trolling lure designed to be rigged on a jig head and consists of three elements - Trolling Skirts, Heads and Hooks. This type of lure is now available in several unique variations.

Trolling Skirt is specifically crafted for Billfish and Tuna fishing. It features a flexible and durable build that ensures lifelike movement in the water, attracting attention with its vibrant colors and natural flow.

Trolling Skirt Head is a streamlined, slanted-cylinder trolling skirt head designed for offshore big game fishing. Its hydrodynamic shape creates an enticing bubble trail. Perfect for rigging with skirts and targeting large pelagic species.

Trolling Skirt Hook is a high-quality stainless steel trolling hook rigged with a durable 49-strand cable for maximum strength and flexibility. Designed for use with trolling skirts, this hook provides a reliable and secure connection to handle powerful offshore species.

[/p]
Saltwater Baits and Live Bait Trolling Rig
[p]
A variety of new unique baits are coming your way— Fish Head and Black Tiger Shrimp, Flying Fish of different caliber, Split Tail Mullet, Indian Ocean Squid, Indo-Pacific Swimming Crab, Natal Rock Oyster Meat, and Filamentous Red Algae.

Some of these new baits, along with several already available in the game, are perfect for the Livebait Trolling Rig, a special fishing setup used to troll a live baitfish behind a moving boat to attract large predatory fish. It's a highly effective method for targeting species like Swordfish, Tuna, Marlin, Barracuda, and many more. Saltwater baits in the game are growing more impressive in size — making them irresistible offerings for even the most massive ocean predators.

The main feature of this rig is that the bait must be alive during setup, even though it usually becomes non-living in the process of rigging. The Livebait Trolling Rig is a highly popular and effective method for saltwater fishing, known for significantly increasing the chances of landing large predatory fish.

When setting up a Live Bait Trolling Rig, start by adding one of the essential components — either a Live Bait Trolling Hook or a Head Starter Sinker. Then, attach the second piece and finish the setup with a Live Bait. If you're targeting toothy predators, don’t forget to add a leader — and you’re all set for an exciting trolling adventure!

[/p]
Vertical Jigging Retrieval
[p]
Vertical jigging is now part of the game — opening up new possibilities for fishing and bringing fresh variety to spinning fishing. It is a dynamic and highly effective technique for catching predatory fish. Whether they’re lurking midwater or hugging the bottom, you can lure them to the surface by teasing them with pilkers, spoons, jigs and other vertical-friendly lures to provoke a strike.

Drop your metal jig or pilker straight down and let it sink, close the spool and then work it back up with sharp, rhythmic jerks to mimic an injured fish or squid - lift your rod upward, and slowly reel in as it drops - and get ready for some serious strikes. You will now be able to see the game track this retrieval in the special HUD and understand whether you are doing it right.

[/p]
Catamaran Fishing Spots
[p]
As you may remember from our previous DevDiaries, the new Chameleon Catamaran is special not only for its unique design, but also for the color customization missions. But that’s not all.
To make your time on the water more convenient, each of the five fishing spots on the yacht now features its own display and two adjustable rod holders.

You can still use your Tablet on board to place Marker or Navigation Buoys, but now you’ll also be able to track what’s happening on the water and manage your rods simultaneously. Easily switch between GPS map, Echo Sounder, and FishFinder360 with a single button press.

The rod holders are fully adjustable, allowing you to change both the angle and direction for maximum comfort and flexibility, depending on your preferred fishing style. It’s all intuitively controlled using your mouse buttons and scroll wheel.

We know some players enjoy fishing solo, while others prefer teaming up with just one or two friends in Fishing Together sessions. But don’t forget — there’s an XP bonus for fishing with friends and club mates, and the more players you have, the bigger the boost for everyone. If you fill all five fishing spots, you’ll get a significant XP bonus, making teamwork more rewarding than ever!
