ACT 2: Classroom of Oblivion

This is the Midnight Study development team.[/p][p][/p][p]We’re excited to announce that Act 2 of the labyrinth within the school has been completed, and we’d like to share both a preview of the new stage and an update on our Early Access release schedule.[/p][p][/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][h2]Early Access Schedule Update[/h2][p][/p][p]Let’s start with the news many of you have been waiting for.[/p][p][/p][p]We’re happy to announce that Midnight Study will enter Early Access on 📅 November 14th,
timed with the G-STAR 2025 game exhibition in Busan, South Korea.[/p][p][/p][p](Please note that depending on Steam’s build approval process, the release may experience a short delay — but our goal is to launch within November.)[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]💡 What’s Included in Early Access[/h3]

[p][/p][p]We’re working hard to polish the game, and we can’t wait to welcome you back on Early Access launch day![/p][p][/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][h2]Act 2: The Classroom of Oblivion[/h2][p][/p][p][/p][p]Haneul and her friends have narrowly escaped the nightmare below and finally reached the first floor —[/p][p]though, of course, new terrifying spirits await them there...[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Yongcheon High’s first floor features a grand central lobby with a staircase and mirror,[/p][p]with classrooms stretching out along both sides.[/p][p]From this Act onward, we’ve added variations in background color palettes and fog tones,[/p][p]giving each stage a distinct atmosphere and mood.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Act 2 focuses on spirits and yokai inspired by Korean folklore.[/p][p]These new entities have more complex skills and attack patterns than those found in Act 1 —[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]you might even find yourself missing the basement...[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]True to their ghostly nature, many of them possess transformation abilities.[/p][p]And as for the boss… let’s just say you can expect many horrifying transformations. 😈[/p][p][/p][p][/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][h2]Looking Ahead[/h2][p][/p][p]We want to thank everyone who played the demo and shared feedback with us.[/p][p]
Your input has been invaluable — especially regarding the Slingshot system and clarity of charm descriptions.[/p][p][/p][p]Following the Early Access release, we’ll be focusing on Slingshot improvements throughout November and December.[/p][p][/p][p]Our goal is to evolve beyond simple “charm aiming,” adding new mechanics, richer feedback, and more satisfying visual effects to make each shot feel impactful and dynamic.[/p][p][/p][p]Many of you have also requested clearer Charm keywords and descriptions — this feature will be included in the upcoming v0.2.0 update.[/p][p][/p][h3]🗓️ Future Roadmap[/h3][p]In the first half of 2026, we’ll begin development of Act 4 and Act 5,[/p][p]alongside expanded Charm synergy systems and enhanced effect visuals.[/p][p]We’ll share more detailed plans in a future roadmap update.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][p]Our next announcement will likely be about Act 3’s development progress,

  • [p]Changed the drag animation that teaches the game controls so that it displays only the first time.[/p]
  • [p]When changing volume in settings, the change is applied immediately so the current volume can be easily recognized.[/p][p][/p]

  • [p]Fixed a bug where afterimages of the Sumi Sword Technique remained onscreen on some devices.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where after the infirmary stage, on restart the player would return to a state before health had recovered.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where during the stage start animation, if restarted that animation would not play.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where at the very beginning or end of a stage screen the player could get stuck and be unable to move.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where in the “Unknown Event,” if you encountered an enemy and then relaunched the game during battle, the enemy would change.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where the Talisman of Vengeance’s shield would counter-attack the enemy’s counter damage.[/p]
  • [p]Modified so that the Talisman of Vengeance and Counterattack activate sequentially.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue where the Talisman of the Poison Spear’s actual damage differed from the displayed damage. (9 → 7)[/p][p][/p]

  • [p]Even when Strength is reduced, you will now always be able to deal at least 1 damage.[/p]
  • [p]The “Throw” pattern of the Duwokshini will now only be used when there are two or fewer rocks in the fog.[/p][p][/p]
