If Fallout's co-creator was to work on the series again, there's one key question he'd want answered first

Original Fallout co-creator Tim Cain has discussed the idea of whether he'd be interested in potentially working on the series again, if he were asked to. The developer says his interest in any Fallout project he was pitched would mainly come down to one key element - "What's new about it?"

If you're not aware, Cain has a YouTube channel where he regularly tells development stories from his lengthy career in the games industry - such as recently revealing his role in the events that led to the cancellation of Fallout Van Buren, Interplay's original Fallout 3. He also sometimes responds to questions asked by fans, which is what he was doing this time.

In a video on his channel entitled 'Would I Work On Fallout Again?', Cain discussed exactly that, citing it as his channel's current "most frequently asked question". The answer, in case you're wondering, is a maybe, with a lot depending on the specifics of whatever pitch was made to him, specifically in terms of it offering the developer the chance to do something he hasn't already done in his career to this point.

Call of Duty's Fallout crossover drops this week, and features a definitely accidental nod to one of Fallout 4's best quest mods

Following the Fallout TV Show, we've already seen the series captialise on the swell in mainstream attention via a Fortnite collab, and now its been confirm that Call of Duty is getting one of those too on June 20. Interstingly, the fun little promotion also features a nod of sorts to one of Fallout 4's most popular quest mods.

Yup, you heard it here first, Activision is just like us fr, clearly having spent hours on the Nexus trying to install about five million different things that make The Commonwealth more interesting, only to inevitably end up with some undiagnosable load order conflict. Ok, it's definitely not, but this is still a pretty neat coincidence.

As outlined in the official blog post the previously leaked collab will see Price, Ghost, Soap, and Gaz get four new operator skins which are them dressed in those inconic blue and yellow vault suits, which definitely won't make you easier to spot on the battlefield.

Fortnite's Fallout stuff arrives today, because we all need to see a guy in power armour chug Nuka Cola while hitting the griddy

It's been a big few months for Fallout, mainly thanks to that little TV show you might have heard about, but also some updates to Fallout 4 that've, er, garnered a pretty mixed reaction. Now, though, the series has really made it into the mainstream - starting today, some stuff from it's in Fortnite.

Yup, stop worrying about your VATS not working like it should, it's time to shake your gyatt by hitting the default dance and skibidi toilet with high level rizz into the litness, my dudes. I'm 25, and life already scares me.

We'd already gotten a few sneak peeks at the T-60 power armour - very much the in-vogue power armour since Fallout 4 dropped - which is being added to Fortnite as part of Chapter 5 Season 3. Dubbed Wrecked, this season's also bringing bottles of Nuka Cola to the game, which you can chug to restore ypur health and a bit of shield.

Fancy playing the original Fallout remade in Fallout 4's engine? Prepare to look out for a demo this summer

While the likes of Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 are all well and good, after enjoying Amazon's Fallout TV show, a lot of us have been left craving a fresh Fallout experience - or even a new remake - to sink our teeth into.

To its credit, while Fallout 4's next-gen update has fallen a bit flat, Bethesda does at least seem to be aware of the desire for it to do a bit more with the series. Though, until it can find a way to up its output, mods will continue to provide plenty of Fallout stuff to look forward to in between entries - with one interesting project looking set to release its first demo this summer.

Fallout: Vault 13 is, as you might have gleaned from the name, a modding project dedicated to remaking the very first Fallout game using Fallout 4's engine - seemigly in a pretty similar vein to the likes of Fallout 4 New Vegas (no prizes for guessing what that one's all about either). Following the release of a Shady Sands showcase video back in 2022, the project's team has been working on a playable demo, and has just provided a fresh update on it.
