Introducing Dolus: Your PC's Second Layer of Defense

Hey Folks,

I'm thrilled to unveil Dolus, a new security tool I've developed to work alongside your existing antivirus. It's not a replacement, but a crucial, lightweight second layer of protection for your PC.
What Dolus Does:
Dolus acts as a cyber scarecrow, catching sophisticated threats that might slip past your primary defenses. It creates a convincing decoy environment that tricks malware into revealing itself or shutting down before causing harm.
Key Features:
• Lightweight complement to your antivirus, not a resource-heavy replacement
 • Build custom security setups without coding
 • Use built-in modules to create dummy files, processes, and even emulate hardware
 • Fully extendable - create and share your own modules with included authoring tools
 • Customize modules or grab community-made ones from the Workshop
 • Turns malware's evasion tactics against itself

I created Dolus because I believe in practical, empowering solutions in cybersecurity. It's about giving you more control over your PC's security in an engaging way, without bogging down your system.

Borderless Gaming v10.1.0 - App Containers
What's New: App Containers
App Containers let you add custom backgrounds to your games. This feature is useful for:

 • Games that don't fill your entire screen
 • Adding backgrounds that match your game's style
 • Improving the look of your streams or recordings
 • Making older games look better on modern displays
How to Use App Containers:
1. Right-click on a game in your Favorites list
 2. Hover over 'App Container' in the context menu
 3. Pick a background option (image, color, or gradient)
 4. Start your game
Special Window Feature
Unlike other solutions, App Containers don't change your desktop background. Instead, they create a special window that can be alt-tabbed like any other application. This means you can still multitask easily while enjoying your customized game view.
Examples:
Before: Game made borderless with a custom size, no container.

After: Game with custom background via App Containers
App Containers Features:
• Choose images, colors, or gradients for backgrounds
 • Works with most games
 • Open source code available
Other Updates:
• Fixed crash when processing certain window titles
 • Improved CPU usage when running in the background
 • Added support for games using Vulkan on Windows 11
 • Updated internal libraries to latest versions
Early Access to App Containers
App Containers is currently available on the vnext branch on Steam. To access it:

 1. Right-click on Borderless Gaming in your Steam library

Update Notes for v10.0.23

Update 10.0.23: Potential Startup Issue Mitigation

Hello everyone,

I've just pushed version 10.0.23 in an effort to potentially mitigate some of the startup issues a few users have been encountering. I appreciate your patience and support as I work to improve your experience with Borderless Gaming.

If you are still experiencing startup issues, I request you to check the Event Viewer on Windows to report any errors Borderless Gaming might be reporting there. Here's a quick guide on how to access the Event Viewer and find relevant error logs:

 • Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.
 • Type eventvwr and press Enter.
 • In the Event Viewer window, expand the Windows Logs section in the left panel.
 • Click on Application to view a list of application logs.
 • Look for any entries related to Borderless Gaming. Errors are usually marked with a red error icon.
 • Double-click on the relevant entry to view detailed information about the error.
 • Take note of the error message and any other relevant details.

Please report these details to me to help diagnose and resolve the issue more effectively. Your feedback is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your cooperation and support!

Best regards,
Andrew
