DEV LOG: WEAPON SYSTEMS.

[p][/p]
DEVLOG # 2 : WEAPON SYSTEMS.
[p]Happy weekend everyone! ːsteamhappyː We're back again for another dev log. Today I'd like to talk about Confiner's weapons module system. [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
THE INITIAL SETUP
[p]Initially, each player ship has weapon hardpoints assigned individually. In the GIF above, these are represented by the circle sprites. You then select a base weapon type that determines its initial behavior. It could be a fast-firing autocannon, a guided missile launcher that requires target locking, or a high-intensity piercing beam weapon.[/p][p][/p]
CUSTOMIZING WEAPON PARTS
[p]Once you’ve chosen a base weapon, you can customize its modular parts. The goal is to give the player a crafting-style mechanic. For example, if you want to increase the number of bullets fired, you can swap the barrel for a double or triple variant. If you want the projectile to deal area-of-effect damage on impact, you can switch the ammo body to an explosive type, or make it deal EMP damage using an EMP Warhead part to stun enemy ships, and so on.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The ship above is equipped with a Stinger Missile Launcher fitted with a Triple Barrel, Normal Warhead, and MIRV Body, enabling it to launch a volley of cluster-capable missiles that split mid-flight into smaller projectiles.

[/p][p][/p][p]If you change the warhead type to EMP, you get a MIRV projectile that deploys smaller, guided EMP missiles. [/p][p]Neat, huh? ːsteammockingː[/p][p]
That's it for now thanks for reading the dev log![/p][p]

Towards a brighter future,

DEV LOG: HELLO WORLD!

[p][/p]
DEVLOG # 1 : HELLO WORLD!
[p]Wow, it’s been a hectic couple of months, but we’re finally ready to showcase the next game in the PhaigeX franchise. If you’ve played our previous game, Hyperspace Survivors (shameless plug hereːsteamhappyː), you probably already know the barebones of this one. It’s a fast-paced, top-down shmup with a mobile support craft that assists you along the way.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
So what is PhaigeX: Confiners?
[p]Back when I was a wee little lad, I remember playing the "Strike series". In those games, you pilot a helicopter, fly around missions, blow stuff up, and balance your ammo and health. That is when I had my “eureka” moment for the next game ːsteammockingː [/p][p][/p][p]What if, instead of being a single ship that grows over time and becomes overpowered, you’re just a specialist (The Confiner) carrying out spec-ops insertion missions into AI-infested sectors and blowing them up with finesse? To make it a bit spicier, beyond managing ammo and health, I added a soft timer in the form of Operation Time, which represents the rate at which your ship components drain your EN reserves.[/p][p][/p]
Avalon the support craft.
[p][/p][p][/p][p]Managing ammo, health and on top of that EN reserves, isn't that a bit too much you say? You're right! That's why as with our previous game you still have your trusty support craft! This time though your mobile base is persistent staying on the field at all times providing support fire and something to take cover into when the going gets tough.[/p][p][/p]
Support Strategems
[p][/p][p][/p][p]Support Craft isn't just a static point in the map! You can also request strategem supports to help you on the mission from ammo containers to deploying suppressive fire. However they are quite limited depending on your supplies available, so be sure to manage them appropriately. ːsteamhappyː[/p][p][/p]
Afterwords.
[p][/p][p]That is the gist of what's PhaigeX: Confiners is about at its core, the game is still barebones but if you like what you're seeing right now just be sure to shoot us a wishlist, it helps a lot! Thank you for reading![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Towards a brighter future,[/p][p][/p]
