FF14 director Yoshida outlines more graphics updates after Dawntrail

One of the most welcome features in FF14 Dawntrail is its dramatic graphics update. From the world at large to the characters, clothing, armor, and weapons within, basically every part of Square Enix's beloved MMORPG has been given an upgrade in the new Final Fantasy 14 expansion. Yet with those changes come issues - in particular, some of the finer details on player character models are a little out of place, or don't look quite how they did previously. In a new blog post, game director Naoki Yoshida outlines plans to rectify these over the coming patches.

Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki 'Yoshi-P' Yoshida is asking the MMORPG's community to not attack Wuk Lamat's voice actress and the localization team online. While Dawntrail is a largely beloved expansion, there's been a lot of discussion around the narrative, with Wuk Lamat at the center. This conversation quickly spilled into online hate, directed at the people who make the English-speaking version of FF14 possible - and Yoshida wants it to stop.

Two game changing FF14 quality-of-life features are on the way

Even though I'm still a Sprout 400 hours in, I know Final Fantasy 14 would benefit from more quality-of-life features. Dawntrail brought improved graphics and the two-dye system, but the MMO's avenues for communication could use work. I'm always staring at the chat box, be that milling around Limsa or in the midst of a tough trial, and Square Enix just showed off multiple ways it's looking to improve how we talk in-game.
