FFXIV 6.5 release date and everything in the Growing Light update

We now have a FFXIV 6.5 release date and a look at everything we can expect from the Growing Light update, courtesy of the latest letter from the producer. FFXIV Live Letter 79 just took place at the Tokyo Game Show, and as always game director Naoki Yoshida and community producer Toshio Murouchi held their light-hearted, laid-back look at everything coming in the next big Final Fantasy 14 patch. Final Fantasy 14’s next patch 6.5, Growing Light, has a release date, details and a dramatic new trailer as it plans to set everything in motion ahead of next summer’s Dawntrail expansion.

FFXIV might be one of the biggest and best MMORPGs going, but it's only fairly recently managed to attract its audience to the PvP space with the addition of Crystalline Conflict. Don’t expect Final Fantasy 14 to go free-to-play anytime soon, Yoshi-P says

Final Fantasy 14 has “no plans” to go fully free-to-play in the future, its director has said following the rebooted MMO’s 10th anniversary - but the team also doesn’t expect to move onto a new game anytime soon, either.

It is time for another fierce round of decisive matches as we move on to the next stage of the Crystalline Conflict Regional Championship in Europe and Oceania – the Quarterfinals!
