FF14 Dawntrail proves Final Fantasy's future is brighter than ever

With FF14 Dawntrail now less than a month away, we at PCGamesN had the chance to play several hours of the new Final Fantasy 14 expansion ahead of time. The next stage in the story for the critically acclaimed MMORPG takes us on a journey across the seas to Tural, where Endwalker's emotional ending to the first decade-long story arc gives way to the promise of new adventure. But after more than ten years with a single game, has the well started to run dry? The good news is that the answer seems to be quite the reverse.

Breaking Brick Mountains Returns on June 5!



The collaboration event with Dragon Quest X, Breaking Brick Mountains, is returning to Eorzea on Wednesday, June 5!

Battle against gargantuan golems from the Dragon Quest series and earn rich rewards! If you've previously completed the event, you can replay the quests via the seasonal event replay feature*!

Begin the quest "Breaking Brick Mountains" by speaking to Havak Alvak of the Mythril Eye in Ul'dah – Steps of Nald (X:12.1 Y:8.2).

During this event, players can purchase a King Slime Crown by speaking with the Toughie in Ul'dah – Steps of Nald (X:8.2 Y:12.2).

Game subscriptions and cosmetics are about to get more expensive for some Final Fantasy 14 players, but many are still calling on Square Enix to actually let them pay in the first place. Ahead of Dawntrail, sales taxes are going to be introduced to the MMORPG in specific states in North America, but the ongoing payment processing issue means that many aren't even concerned about paying more in the game just yet, because FF14 itself can't process any transactions from them to begin with.
