Final Fantasy XIV won’t be the next video game TV series, as The Witcher producers' live-action project “dead”

A planned live-action adaptation of MMO Final Fantasy XIV is officially “dead”, according to the TV series’ producers. A combination of the pandemic and the “size and scale needed to do it right” are apparently to blame, with Amazon reportedly coming closest to making it a reality - but to no avail.

Moogle Treasure Trove ─ The First Hunt for Genesis Commences January 30!



It gives us great pleasure to announce the return of the Moogle Treasure Trove starting Tuesday, January 30, 2024! Collect irregular tomestones of genesis I by completing specific duties and exchange them with itinerant moogles for a host of treasures including accessories and mounts. The Final Fantasy 14 live-action TV show is officially "dead," sorry

The Final Fantasy 14 TV show looks to be no more. After being announced in production in 2019 by the producers of The Witcher and The Expanse, one of the core people on the project says that it, sadly, never got picked up.

Even as a newer fan, I'm all too familiar with the FF14 low poly grapes. An enduring meme after Endwalker dropped in 2021, Square Enix might have 'fixed' (the term being purely subjective here) how the infamous purple grapes looked, but the team behind Final Fantasy 14 have also been really good sports about understanding the communities love for the block of fruit. Come patch FF14 6.55, you can get them in yet another form: a lamppost.
