FFXIV housing demolition paused in light of Turkey-Syria earthquake
Square Enix has suspended automatic FFXIV housing demolition as a mark of respect for those affected by devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. The publisher of the Final Fantasy MMORPG confirms that player housing will no longer be susceptible to the automatic demolition timer, which was reintroduced with FFXIV patch 6.3 after being paused temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The creator of a popular but unauthorised Final Fantasy XIV mod has admitted to including malware that can shut down a user's PC. Gshade, a mod that allows users to tinker with the MMORPG's visuals, contains code that restarts a PC if the mod is used in other capacities, such as the creation of additional mods that could alter gameplay dynamics.

I hate Valentine's Day. Every year it's some overly cringy Hallmark expression of 'love' that equates real human feelings to gifts, love hearts, chocolates, and absolutely dreadful romantic comedies. Even the best PC games have been lured into this sugar-coated, rose-tinted world, offering a vast array of different Valentine's cosmetics for players to pick up to twin with their in-game crush. This year, though, the FFXIV Valentine's event finally broke that mould.

If you're eagerly anticipating the next FFXIV expansion you may be waiting a while longer yet. While the latest instalment in the story of the critically acclaimed MMORPG, Endwalker, arrived over a year ago in December 2021, it sounds as though we won't get hands-on with FFXIV 7.0 in 2023 as publisher Square Enix confirms that no expansions are planned for it or Dragon Quest X this year.
