Setting off fireworks in FFXIV PvP can get players banned

Final Fantasy XIV PvP is finally heating up thanks to the popularity of Crystalline Conflict, but the devs want you to know that you can still be banned for "uncooperative" or "lethargic" behaviour. That means no spamming "nice job" when your team is losing and no setting off fireworks on top of down opponents. In other words, Yoshi-P says 'don't be a jerk'.

"Participants must bring their best to the fight, and for this reason uncooperative or lethargic behaviour is prohibited," director and producer Naoki Yoshida says in a new blog post. "Let's strive to do our best even in situations where defeat is imminent, regardless of whether or not you're interested in the rewards."

The new post outlines the "main types of prohibited behaviours", which include things like "repeatedly using the quick chat phrase 'nice job!' during a disadvantageous situation," ''using and repeating an emote on top of a downed opponent," and "setting off fireworks on top of a downed opponent," in addition to things like direct harassment in text chat or on social media.

FFXIV Crystalline Conflict PvP guide

Wondering how to play Crystalline Conflict? The FFXIV 6.1 patch brings with it a new FFXIV PvP mode, Crystalline Conflict, in which two teams of five players fight for control over a giant blue 'tactical crystal' in the centre of the map. Getting to this crystal isn't going to be easy, though, as the opposing team are set on taking you down, and even the map itself can be dangerous.

FFXIV may be one of the best MMOs of all time, but it's not known for its PvP combat. This new mode aims to change all that; FFXIV Crystalline Conflict is a fast-paced, accessible multiplayer mode without too high of a barrier to entry, designed to welcome new players and seasoned citizens of Eorzea alike.

Those that enjoy a challenge can climb the ranks from Bronze to Crystal tier in ranked mode, but there are also plenty of rewards available depending on your performance, including PvP experience, Series experience, Wolf Marks, and more. According to Square Enix, there's an extensive plan for seasonal content and prizes going forward, too. So, it's time to prepare your hotbars and get ready to learn everything there is to know about the new FFXIV PvP mode, Crystalline Conflict.

FFXIV Aglaia Alliance Raid: how to defeat every boss

Want to know about the FFXIV Aglaia raid? Introduced in the recently released 6.1 patch, Aglaia is the first stage of the Alliance Raid. The Aglaia raid brings together three parties consisting of eight players each to fight against the divinities of Eorzea. As is the case with most raids in this MMO game, there's a unique storyline to delve into, powerful equipment to find, and much more.

This raid is part of the Myths of the Realm series, giving players a chance to learn about the twelve gods of Eorzea, exploring the divinities that have been lurking around the game's margins since the beginning. To jump into the FFXIV Aglaia raid, you must be level 90, have at least the item level of 565, and complete all the main scenario quests from this new patch.

Once you have done that, go to Old Sharlayan and speak with the Fresh-faced Student (X:9.1 Y:11.5) to obtain the 'A Mission in Mor Dhona' quest - this chain of missions lead you to the raid. Here's what you need to know to tackle the main bosses of the FFXIV Aglaia raid.

Final Fantasy XI returns to Final Fantasy XIV in one week

Final Fantasy XIV might be soaking up all the adulation these days, but the other FF MMO is still going strong, and the Final Fantasy XI crossover event is about to return once again with the Maiden's Rhapsody 2022. The seasonal event is coming back in less than a week's time, so if you're already sick of the eggs in FFXIV's major cities, you're about to have a new holiday to take on.

The Maiden's Rhapsody event returns on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 1am PDT / 4am EDT / 9am BST. This is an exact repeat of the event that ran in 2015, 2017, and 2020, but if you've missed out before, now's your chance to check it out. If you want to replay the event, you can do so using the seasonal event replay feature.

You can start the event (or the replay) by talking to Remumu on the Limsa Lominsa upper decks at X:11.6, Y:11.2. That'll kick off the 'A Journey to Remember' quest, which like many seasonal quests, will have you working through an array of special seasonal FATEs.
