RK2019 Anniversary Event - February 25 - March 17

Boy howdy, it’s been one heck of a year. Right around this time last year, we launched Rubi-Ka 2019, our take on a classic/progression server - and it’s been a wild ride since. The launch of the server also coincided with the launch of a new Discord server, which has proven invaluable for connecting and bonding with an intensely passionate community. Together, we’ve revisited what made Anarchy Online such a fantastic experience and a force to be reckoned with into 2020.

Now, to celebrate RK2019’s launch, we’re throwing an anniversary party! Join us, would you? Festivities go (exclusively on RK2019) from February 25 to March 17!

The event itself features 5 classic world bosses remixed and revamped with new mechanics and challenges:

• Abmouth Indomitus
• Zaal the Immortal
• T.A.M.
• Cerubin the Reborn
• Atma

Each boss features chances at new, unique loot drops as well as chances at parts of a new armor set, “- of the Eight”. In addition, each boss also has chances to drop Serpentine Armor pieces, originally only available from the RK2019 mission line!

Thank you all so much for your support and help in making Rubi-Ka 2019 a success. Keep an eye out for more news to come!

Cheers,

The Anarchy Online team

18th Anniversary Celebration! June 18 - July 9

Hark! On this grand occasion, Anarchy Online celebrates 18 whole years of service! We still stand proudly as one of the few games able to proclaim such, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this possible.

So hey, let’s party! Beginning June 18th through July 9th, Ganimedes Personal Jetpack & Nano Crystal (Balloons) are available in the shop, and subscribers can also log in to pick up a Ganimedes Personal Jetpack MK II!

Now, a few scant months ago we launched Rubi-ka 2019, our take on a fresh start that began with level caps and no expansions. The response from RK19 has been nothing short of incredible and we’re happy to bring the level cap up to 200 and unleash Shadowlands during the anniversary! Level 200 on RK19 happens on June 26th, and Shadowlands opens the following day, on the 27th!

Players on RK19 also have access to special daily login rewards, exclusive to the anniversary event - including special vanity gear on day 14!

Out in Newland, an old foe returns from exile - Loren Warr! She’s back, and she’s pissed. Ms. Warr may be found in the outskirts of Newland and will provide a challenge for anyone who dares take her on! Defeating Warr may net you some unique lewt, so get out there and thwart her attempts at revenge!

The Tinker returns to Newland Desert, ready to make things come up explodey for her favorite foe, The Desert Rider! Join her in her madness and eliminate Desert Nomads to find parts for the many gifts she wants to make. The Desert Nomads will be located in Newland Desert, Mort, Perpetual Wastelands and Broken Shores.

Upon defeating the Desert Rider, a personal teleport beacon will be left behind. It will not have much energy remaining, so access it before it deactivates to gain access to a hidden Desert Nomad fortification. This initial incursion into a Desert Nomad outpost will be a single-person encounter that will scale to players of all levels. Desert Nomads encountered here will offer unique rewards, with the Officers being able to drop pieces of the Elite Desert Nomad armor.

The Tinker will reward you for your efforts, especially if you walk the extra mile to get her the items she needs! "Vacuum Packed Desert Nomad Armor" await you if you assist her in collecting 250 items. She will complete a gift with 500 items this year!

When defeating a Desert Rider, all you need to do is approach the large present that is left behind, and claim a prize from the Desert Rider's personal stash!

Finally, the SBC-Xpm Sites once again feature a cadre of Desert Nomad Commandos, tasked with protecting additional rewards from the Desert Rider's private storage.

Thank you all once more for yet another incredible year of Anarchy Online. Let’s buckle up and orbit Sol once more; we’ll see you on Rubi-Ka!

Anarchy Online RK2019 FAQ

Whoa, we have a new server! Here's some commonly-asked questions that popped up; we'll add to this based on your comments and feedback.

So, a new server eh?

Yup! Rubi-Ka 2019 launches today and is our unique take on a fresh-start experience. Subscribers are invited to start anew with a pure experience - with no expansions, lower level caps, and a untouched economy to begin!

Subscriber-only, right? What does that mean, exactly?

As long an account is subscribed to Anarchy Online, that account can log in and play on the new server. If you have an existing subscription on an account, that account can log in as soon as the server’s online. No extra payments or actions needed!

If you don't have an active membership now or at any time, that's fine: as soon as you start or renew a subscription on an account, that account can log into the new server.
Wait, so how do I actually play on RK2019?

You may notice a new dropdown menu on the AO Launcher, next to the Settings button. Simply select "Rubi-Ka 2019"; on that menu and start the game up. That will take you to the new server.

What about froob (free) accounts?

RK2019 is for subscribers only. Free Accounts will not be able to play on this server, although they can of course still play on the regular server!

Am I allowed to transfer a character from the regular server to RK2019?

ALL players must create a brand-new character on RK2019. You are not able to transfer characters or items between servers.

Can I reserve my name on the new server?

Name reservations are not available on this server.

How long will the server be open?

The current plan is to run the server for 12 months - however, if near the end we see the community wants to keep it going, that is an option we are not taking off the table.

If the server closes, what happens to my character?

If the server does end, characters do not carry over from RK2019 to the original server.

Will there be an Item Store, or Heckler Juice?

The item store will be available on the new server. However, some items will not be available such as Heckler Juice.

What about the level caps and expansions? How will those be handled?

The server starts with no expansions and a low level cap (10). The level cap will be raised periodically (and based on your feedback), and expansions will be added to the server over time. We'll release the expansions in sequential order, meaning:

* Notum Wars
* Shadowlands
* Alien Invasion
* Lost Eden
* Legacy of the Xan

The timeframe in which the expansions will be rolled out is not set in stone and is, again, based on your feedback.

What about balance, mechanics, and systems? Are those being reverted?

We are not reverting any code, systems, or balance changes with the new server. Existing mechanics and systems such as damage caps, falling damage, XP loss, Improvement Point (IP) menu, profession balance, PvP, etc. will not be reverted from how they currently are.

Features introduced with expansions, such as Shade and Keeper professions as well as ACG/Daily Missions, will be reintroduced with their respective updates.

Okay. What about the Global Market Interface (GMI)?

The GMI will be offline at the launch of Rubi-Ka 2019. The system will be brought online at a later date, to be announced.
