Out Now! Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck

The fourth campaign add-on for Borderlands 3 is available now! This release coincides with a free level cap increase that raises the maximum Vault Hunter level to 65.

Thanks to some absurdly advanced technology devised by scientist Patricia Tannis, Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck—the fourth campaign add-on for Borderlands 3—takes place entirely in the titular meat maestro's messed-up consciousness. Tannis is convinced that this unimaginably unsettling environment holds the key to a mythical place that she's dubbed "Vaulthalla" so, starting right now, she needs you to seek it out in Krieg's mindscape.

Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck is the fourth and final campaign add-on included with the Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition and Season Pass. In order of release, the previous three campaign add-ons are Moxxi's Heist of The Handsome Jackpot, Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, and Bounty of Blood. Campaign add-ons are also available to purchase separately, though you'll need to own a copy of Borderlands 3 to play them.

What's New in Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck:
  • Journey through the many demented vistas of Krieg's psyche, where anything is possible and very probably violent
  • Experience the world as Krieg sees it, including his perception of fan-favorite characters like Maya, the light of his twisted life
  • Overcome a vast array of life-threatening manifestations that Krieg's mind conjures up
  • Expand Krieg's mind and Tannis' research in surreal side missions and Crew Challenges
  • Score powerful Legendary weapons and gear that—according to Tannis—will work outside of Krieg's consciousness
  • Acquire brain-busting cosmetic items including Vault Hunter Heads and Skins

Regardless of whether you own Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck or any of the other Borderlands 3 campaign add-ons, today's free level cap increase means that your Vault Hunter can unlock five additional skill points on their way to the new maximum level of 65. If you'd like to explore interactive versions of the Vault Hunters' skill trees and figure out how you're going to use five more skill points to improve your current build, head on over to the pages dedicated to Amara the Siren, FL4K the Beastmaster, Moze the Gunner, and Zane the Operative.

In order to reach Krieg's Mind with an existing Vault Hunter, you'll need access to Sanctuary III, the starship you get by completing Episode 5 of Borderlands 3's main story missions. When you're ready to put your life in Tannis' hands and beam down into Krieg's noggin, look for a Psycho mask—highlighted with a yellow exclamation mark—in her lab aboard Sanctuary III.

Alternatively, if you don’t have access to Sanctuary III yet or want to explore Krieg's Mind as a new character, you can create a new Vault Hunter and have them bypass the opening acts of the Borderlands 3 story so you can head there right away. Once the campaign add-on is installed, select Play on the main menu, followed by New Game; you'll then get to choose which storyline you want to jump into.

Whether Tannis is right about Vaulthalla remains to be seen, but even in the Borderlands, opportunities to explore the psyche of a rampaging murder machine don't come along too often. Blow your mind with a visit to Krieg's today!

Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck Coming September 10

Watch the reveal trailer for Borderlands 3's fourth campaign add-on: Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck!

Ready to say goodbye to sanity, Vault Hunter? Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, the fourth campaign add-on for Borderlands 3, will send you on a savage and surreal journey into madness starting September 10.

Brilliant scientist Patricia Tannis may have cracked one of the galaxy's greatest mysteries: what makes the Borderlands' psychos so uniformly deranged? She believes the answer lies with Vaulthalla, a mythical place that induces insanity in all who learn its true nature. Of course, your average psycho isn't going to peacefully sit still and share Vaulthalla's secrets, so the closest you can get to a willing participant is Krieg, a fellow Crimson Raider and the most badass psycho there is.

Problem is, Krieg's not the best communicator, what with all his aggressive, barely coherent screaming. Using technology that lesser intellects couldn't possibly comprehend, Tannis is beaming you and your fellow Vault Hunters directly into Krieg's consciousness so you can discover Vaulthalla for yourself. You'll need to team up with both of Krieg's opposing personas—a raging murder machine and a calm inner voice—if you want any chance of surviving his twisted, meat-filled mindscapes and reaping Vaulthalla's rewards.

Now that you've had a taste of Krieg's psychedelic inner world, make sure you don't miss this campaign add-on's gameplay reveal premiering as part of IGN's gamescom Studio showcase this Saturday, August 29 around 1:25 PM PT (4:25 PM ET / 9:25 PM BST). You should also tune in for a special episode of the Bordercast over on the Borderlands Twitch page later today, August 25 at 1 PM PT (4 PM ET / 9 PM BST) or catch the VOD on YouTube, featuring Borderlands Show co-host Fran Mirabella and Game Director Maxime Babin discussing everything to do with this new campaign add-on. Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck will launch on September 10 and is included as part of the Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition and the Season Pass.
