Metro Exodus dev shares tease for mysterious sequel

It's been five years since Metro Exodus, the follow-up to 4A Games' Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, launched. Like its predecessors, the horror FPS game provided a wonderfully harsh journey through a post-apocalyptic world where fights against vicious monsters were as frequent as scenes of idle downtime with makeshift communities of survivors. While a VR game called Metro Awakening is currently in the works, fans of the series have been left waiting quite a while for another main entry to Metro. Now, fortunately, 4A has begun to tease the sequel to Exodus.

Introducing: Metro Awakening – A new VR Metro game by Vertigo Games

Deep Silver and Vertigo Games are pleased to announce a new addition to the Metro franchise. Metro Awakening is a story-driven first-person adventure built exclusively for VR and will be coming to Steam VR, PS VR2 and Meta Quest 2+3 later this year.

Developed by Vertigo Games in collaboration with Deep Silver, and written by Metro creator Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Awakening allows you to immerse yourself in the heart-pounding, chilling and tense world of Metro in an entirely new dimension.

Set in 2028, you are Serdar, a doctor who has to brave the mind-bending tunnels of Metro to search for his missing wife.
