Desperate to see more of the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster? You'll want to tune into the showcase Capcom's just announced

In case you missed it, Capcom casually revealed that the original Dead Rising's getting a remake yesterday. It's called Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and your first chance to see anything about it beyond the inital teaser trailer will be at the summer Capcom Next showcase the publisher's just announced.

While it's not the only game set to show up, it's fair to say the remaster will be the main event of this nice little broadcast, likely offering a chance for you to go 'eugh, Frank definitely looks weird now' or 'you know, I don't mind how Frank looks now' numerous times before it concludes.

You'll be able to catch the summer 2024 edition of Capcom Next on July 1 at 3PM PT, which is 11PM BST and 6PM ET. All ya gotta do is rock up and press play on the video above when that time hits and you'll be drowned in the video game.

■Capcom is participating in the "Maui Strong Sale", sponsored by KOMODO Co., Ltd., to support the residents of Maui, Hawaii, who were severely affected by the wildfires that occurred last August.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund, established by the Hawaii Community Foundation, and will be used for relief efforts and recovery support in Maui.

Capcom's new REX engine will address "ballooning" game scales and no, that's probably not a Dino Crisis reference

Capcom have unveiled the next generation of their in-house RE Engine, which came in alongside Resident Evil 7 in 2017 and has been used by a bunch of projects over the years, from the excellent Devil May Cry 5 to the forthcoming possibly-excellent Dragon's Dogma 2. RE Engine's successor, the REX engine, is a response to three things - 1) RE Engine productions getting bigger in terms of assets, and more diverse in terms of genre, 2) RE Engine games being increasingly made by overseas developers who speak different languages, and 3) unflattering comparisons with various commercial tools, like Unreal Engine and Unity.

With Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom yet again reminds us why it's one of the most revered publishers at the moment.
