The Radiant Devourer

This week in AdventureQuest 3D players can head over to the Yokai Island and venture to the Shadow of the Wind Village where they will find Artix von Krieger enjoying a bowl of ramen in preparation for the Yokai Star Fall Festival. Speak with Artix to begin a short introduction quest that will lead you to a fateful encounter with Lumenion. This sentient mass of starlight energy has one goal. Consume all sources of light to increase it’s own radiance. Lumenion the Radient Devourer is inbound for Lore. Are you able to stand against it’s might?
Blinding Starlight of Destiny
The Blinding Starlight of Destiny crash lands into AdventureQuest 3D marking the beginning of a new kind of item, “Spellforged”. Spellforged items have spells attached to them or… forged into them. To start with as the flagship item for this feature, The Blinding Starlight of Destiny has a 20% chance to call down celestial axes and strike all enemies around you dealing 50% of the damage of whatever source of damage proced it. This is just the beginning as we plan to add many more Spellforged items in the future to really drive player expression and build varieties!
4th of July
Rocketman returns to Battleon with new and returning items to help celebrate the 4th of July.
Misc Changes
We’ve made some changes to the Deep Grotto dungeon to fix some of the cheese that players have been able to do to avoid engaging with boss mechanics. We will be monitoring the situation and making changes as needed.
Balance Changes
Last week some changes made it to live which, while unintended, served to be pretty exciting. For the most part, the spirit of these changes is fine but essentially Warrior and Mage could endlessly scale, we’ve reigned them in just a bit and will be monitoring the situation moving forward. To make up for the change in Mage’s damage output we’ve increased the AoE on their fireball as compensation. While these changes look big on paper it really took crazy circumstances to pop off with the amount of stacks required to break them.

Warrior Class Changes:
Warrior’s Protection stack cap has been reduced from 9001 to 20
Mage Class Changes:
Mage’s Fire Aspect stack cap has been reduced from 9001 to 20
Mage’s Fire Ball AoE has been increased from 3 to 5
This week we have more than class balance changes, we’ve also shifted scaling in some older maps as we move to rebalance the game.

Scaling Changes:
The 20th Anniversary Maps level scaling cap has been reduced to 20.
The Moon level scaling cap has been reduced to 20.
Skullpunch Island level scaling cap has been reduced to 20.
Atlantis level scaling cap has been reduced to 20
In our ongoing discussions about AdventureQuest 3D, we’ve focused on the Nulgath content. Over the past year, Nulgath weapons have dominated the game, they’ve been the best-in-slot weapons since their release. However, this dominance has had unintended consequences for the game’s economy and reward system. Players have provided feedback that other rewards don’t feel as valuable because Nulgath items are so powerful. Addressing this issue isn’t straightforward. Simply releasing more items at a slightly higher level won’t solve it, as Nulgath weapons are hard-coded to be exceptionally potent. Unfortunately, this situation isn’t conducive to a healthy MMO reward structure or the game’s long-term health. To improve the game experience, we’re taking action. While this will involve nerfing some existing content, we’re committed to creating a more balanced environment with diverse rewards. In the upcoming patch, we’ll adjust the infusion cap for many weapons. If you’ve already exceeded the default cap, don’t worry, you’ll retain your progress.

Item Changes:
Multiple level 42+ items have had their cap lowered to be in line with similar items. This does not affect items already infused above 42.
Sandstorm Capstones and Infusion Runes are now tagged as Items, this will allow players to sell or destroy them to remove them from their inventories.
Fiendish Capstones and Infusion Runes are no longer obtainable or required; convert your Capstones at Maximus

🎉 Oracle Class is here!
Master the mystic Oracle Class
The time has come, heroes! Brace yourselves, for now you can harness the power of the Oracle Class in AdventureQuest 3D! Oracles are the very essence of cosmic might manifested. When you enter the realm of these formidable fate-benders, you’ll master the Time Vortex, Cosmic Shadow, Reset Variance, Threads of Fate, and Cosmic Reverberation.
Oracle Class Skills and Abilities
With precision skill shots and expansive AoEs, Oracles ensnare and annihilate their foes with their arsenal of abilities.

Auto Attack
Strike repeatedly with bursts of magical energy, overwhelming your enemies with relentless force.

Cosmic Shadow
Launches a spectral spear of ethereal energy that slices through foes with deadly precision. This ranged attack not only hits its mark but also pierces enemies behind it, inflicting the "Bad Omen" debuff. Bad Omen increases damage taken by the enemy by 5% per stack. 25% is the max stack of Bad Omen.

Reset Variance
Mastering Reset Variance is the hallmark of an Oracle. Launch a Time Vortex, strike from afar with Cosmic Shadow, and when your enemy is near defeat, Reset Variance to unleash another Vortex. Each calculated kill resets your cooldowns, readying you for your next strike. This skill also applies Bad Omen.

Time Vortex
Control the battlefield with a swirling maelstrom of temporal energy. This AoE attack slows reality, rends flesh, and places Bad Omen on all enemies caught within.

Threads of Fate
Invoke the ultimate power of the Oracle. Threads of Fate cuts the target’s current HP by 50% instantly (5% max against bosses) and descends a full stack of Bad Omen upon them, binding their fate to doom. Use this skill at the beginning of the battle for maximum impact.

Cosmic Reverberation
Channel cosmic power to mark an enemy, healing all allies who strike the marked target. This cross skill is essential for bolstering your team’s endurance.

No matter if they are friend or foe, Oracles are formidable beings who bend fate to their will. Their mastery over cosmic forces makes them unparalleled in battle, weaving devastation and destiny with precision and power. Embrace the arcane, and step into the shoes of an Oracle to wield these otherworldly abilities. BTW, we let our players vote, so Oracle Class has arrived now without its Legendary Armor set. That set will come at a later date!
Meet Lothain, the Oracle Class Trainer
Do you dare control time, shroud your enemies in shadows, and alter the threads of fate itself? Then join the ranks of the Oracle Class and become the newest legend in Lore!

The cosmos awaits your command… seek out Lothain in Battleon if you are ready to answer the call!
Paladin Class Revamp
We’re examining adjustments to class mechanics to enhance their overall experience. During my playthrough on stream, I noticed that some classes had downtime or lacked impact. Our goal is to gradually address this by introducing class rebalancing. Ultimately, we want every class to be enjoyable to play!

Paladin Class Changes
 • Ardent Virtue: Stacks of Ardent Virtue now refresh the cooldown of Radiant Blade once consumed.
 • Holy Shield: The baseline duration of Holy Shield's duration has been altered from 1.5 seconds to 2.0 seconds but the upgraded version has been changed from 3.5 to 5 seconds.

Starting with Paladin we are making some changes to the way Paladin’s Ardent Virtue works. Moving forward, Ardent Virtue will refresh the cooldown of Radiant Blade when consumed. This will offer more uptime on the ability giving you more time to press the fun button, but… It also opens the paladin up to lining up a few stacks of Ardent Virtue and unleashing a barrage of multiple Radiant Blades at once during an armor break to snapshot that damage in that window. This allows the paladin to come up with more strategies! Will you weave in your Radiant Blade strikes between your other cooldowns? Will you save them for an armor break? The choice is yours!

The Ardent Virtue changes are not the only tweaks we made to the paladin class. Holy Shieldnow lasts longer, too! I believe these class changes should solidify the class fantasy of being a heavily armored champion of the light.
Umm… surprise!?
So… While writing these design notes I found out some class changes that had been in testing made it to live by mistake! We will be monitoring how they change the game.
 • Warrior's Whirlwind: Maximum Protection stacks increased from 12 to 9001.
 • Rogue's Toxic Surge: Max stack bonus increased from 4 to 8.
 • Mage's Fire Ball: Fire Aspect maximum stacks increased from 3 to 9001.
 • Healer's Renew: Kinship maximum stacks increased from 40 to 9001.
 • Berserker's Battle Fervor: Battle Fervor now makes the Berserker unstoppable.
Rubber Ducky Hat + House Item
What the duck is that?! Now you can totally ‘wing it’ with the adorably awesome Rubber Ducky Hat! Just look at that wittle wellow birb boi perched perfectly upon your head. The Quest Continues for the Cosmic Helm
The Quest Continues for the Cosmic Helm
The search for the Cosmic Raiment set continues this week in AdventureQuest 3D. Head to the Loremaster’s Lodge in Battleon and speak with Loremaster Hazel to either continue the questline or start it if you’re new. Your task is to collect the various pieces of the Cosmic Raiment. Once you complete this week’s addition, the armor set will be fully assembled, with only the weapons remaining.
Retrieve Lost Gear
Players have expressed their desire for ways to obtain items that were originally one-time quest rewards, especially in cases where they accidentally delete or sell them. I can relate—I recently sold some pauldrons during my playthrough of Ashfall, assuming they’d be recoverable. To address this, head to Ashfall and seek out the Dragonslayer Quartermaster, Senna. She’ll provide you with the lost Dragon Stalker armor pieces, which can be crafted. This marks the initial step in reintroducing ‘Lost Items’ to the game, with the next addition being the Classic Paladin armor set.
New Promo Item: Rubber Ducky Helm
What the duck is that?! Starting this week, you can totally ‘wing it’ with the adorably awesome Rubber Ducky Helm! Just look at that wittle wellow birb boi perched perfectly upon your head.
