Prepare for Trobble, pure chaos, and fun! Trobbles are these adorable little guys that drop from just about anything you defeat in the game. Whether you're farming, questing, or just vibing in a dungeon — you're probably getting Trobbles. Some are tied to events or specific drops, but most are just chillin in global loot. Over 100 to find!


[h2]Blade of Awe Preview[/h2]
The Blade of Awe is in development by Dage the Evil, with both visual and story elements being carefully planned. The story behind the weapon ties into the upcoming main campaign update, with Dage adding some secret, spoiler-y flair. The design reflects the classic Artix style and nods to past games, matching well with Sanrick's armor for those who love coordinated looks. Details on how to obtain the Blade are being kept hush hush for now.


[h2]How to (not) Make Yulgar's Inn[/h2]
Yergen originally designed a stunning new map for Yulgar’s Inn, but it ended up feeling a bit too modern for Battleon’s cozy, small-town vibe. So, the map’s getting repurposed as a Port Town (perfect fit!), while Yulgar’s Inn keeps its classic structure with some fresh visual updates and new additions.

This includes an exterior blacksmithing area that reflects Yulgar’s role, plus a reworked interior with color-coded zones—main floor, balcony and stairs, bedrooms, and even a bathroom. The goal is to modernize the space without losing its original charm. Did we nail it?



[h2]Dwarves![/h2]
We’re working on DWARVES! Yep, a brand-new race with their own homeland and lore. Clarion pitched the idea of antlers and horns on them (because why not?), and Dage took that and ran. The concepts are looking so cool, but I can’t spill much yet—story secrets and all that jazz. Just know it’s gonna add some major variety to Lore!


[h2]Clarion Has a Beard[/h2]
Clarion has a beard... for maybe a week? Why? Because Oishii asked me if we were ready to roll the release to live, or if I needed to add anything else, and I thought it'd be funny to say "WAIT HOLD ON I NEED TO ADD SOMETHING DON'T ROLL YET!". So here we are.


[h2]Moglin Maker[/h2]
Remember how we were revamping Moglins? WELL—we’re also making them customizable like human NPCs! That means clothes, weapons, and all sorts of cute outfits. We really want non-human characters to shine just as much as the humans in Lore. It’s still a work-in-progress, but I can already tell we’re gonna fall in love with some brand-new moglin heroes.


[h2]Forging Heroes[/h2]
We’ve got BIG characters coming for the story relaunch, and it’s so fun watching them evolve from “words on a doc” to full 3D models. We’ve revealed 3 of them so far—there are 2 more mystery NPCs in the group, so stay tuned. Can’t say much yet (spoilers and all that), but they’re super important to the new story direction. Trust me, you’re gonna want to meet them.

In addition to both weapons, each promo will come with an additional house item to hang your fancy weapon off in your home. Simply head over to the Guardian Tower and speak to Fortes after finishing your Guardian initiation. A friendly reminder that all Dragon Crystal packages have a 50% bonus on them!

Just in time for Mother's Day, a new questline has arrived in Battleon! Visit Yulgar inside the Inn—he’s planning a sweet surprise for Aria and needs your help. While the story’s details are hush-hush to avoid spoilers, there's a special reward waiting at the end, and Spring flower drops are back for house decorating!


[h2]Blue-Eyed Soul Dragon Heroic Essence[/h2]
The Blue-Eyed Soul Dragon, originally released as a free early-game Travel Form, now has new variants! These include armored and ghostly versions, obtainable through Heroic Essence from level 50 endgame bosses. Visit Sir Arthur Lanceler to exchange your essence for pets or Travel Forms—intended as long-term, earnable rewards just for playing.


[h2]Treasure Chest Rewards Bonus Guardians[/h2]
We’re adding bonus features to Treasure Chest rewards, starting with Guardian-exclusive weapon displays! If you own the Void Star Scythe, you can now claim a matching House Display item from the new Guardian Golem Gift Distributor NPC in Battleon. This system will eventually be automated and retroactively applied to older items too.


[h2]Moglin Magic[/h2]
Behind the scenes, we’ve been cooking up tech for AQ3D’s massive main story revamp—including custom Moglins! Thanks to Xero and Astra, Moglins will soon have changeable colors, clothing, and models that match modern NPC quality (like Kajits). It’s still a work in progress, but we’re excited to show off a hilariously cursed Moglin in pants.


[h2]Critters are Coming![/h2]
Astra is also breathing life into Lore by designing critters like cats, dogs, bunnies, and more! These creatures will populate the world and make it feel more alive and immersive. You may have already seen some in the intro maps, but there’s plenty more to come.


[h2]Improving the Little Things[/h2]
This one’s small, but a big win for devs: our quest-building tools just got a major upgrade! Thanks to Spider’s spawn editor and Zhoom’s help, NPCs now behave better when moved mid-questline. No more weird APOP glitches when characters shift locations—this fix made the Wiggly Whompa release a lot smoother.

You don’t have to be from a galaxy far far away to celebrate May the Fourth. The Dark Lord returns to Battleon, bringing with him multiple seasonal shops, including… May the 4th, Revenge of the 5th, the May the 4th Housing Collection, Black Helm Crafting, and of course past May 4th collections.


[h2]Community Shop Update[/h2]
This week, we are rolling out some DuckyDucky housing items for the community shop that will be available for purchase from Zilla’s community shop. You can find Zilla in both Yulgar’s Inn and the Battleon Social District for 10 DuckDucky coins each. In addition to the DuckyDucky house items available in the shops, a special ghostly variant will drop off of the DuckyDucky spawns.


[h2]A New Start[/h2]
We’ve been hard at work revamping AdventureQuest 3D over the last year. The team and I are so excited for you to get your hands on the revamped introduction to AdventureQuest 3D, which will start with your adventures in Mossmere that will kick off the new main story for AdventureQuest 3D. All of the gameplay and system changes we’ve been making to AdventureQuest 3D have truly been leading up to this - a brand new main campaign with exciting new characters and mysteries to uncover. All built upon the foundation we’ve been forging with systems like Heroic Skills and Spellforged gear. We look forward to you all questing through Mossmere and arriving at the new version of Battleon, where your journey through Lore will truly begin. And don’t worry… as a thank you for partaking in playing through our new beginning. There will be a reward… a platinum promise.


[h2]New Battleon?[/h2]
We’re hard at work finishing up Mossmere, but development on AdventureQuest 3D truly never ends. Mossmere was designed to be part of the Greenguard region, so a lot of the assets we’ve been building will be used to revamp the whole of Greenguard, including Battleon, as you can see in the picture above. While still very early, things are progressing fast!

A lot of players have been asking me directly what will happen to the current Battleon… Nothing! Well, for the most part. Current Battleon will remain accessible as a legacy map and be left untouched, save for a portal to the current Battleon. That way, no queststrings will be broken and those who just wanna hang out in Battleon can still do so! So as we build the new story, know that you will still be able to play through all that is currently in the game. I think the only thing we really wanna change is maybe removing the portal cutscenes… At least the ones that are there, that is.

Once we finish Battleon, this will lead us into the new Greenguard that will surround Battleon and Mossmere. While chapter 1 of our new story will take place in Greenguard that doesn’t mean Chapter 2 will be a revamped Heartwood. In fact, right now we’ve been leaning towards something more… coastal…

As I have more info to share, I’ll keep you posted here in the Design Notes, really hoping to return to a more casual and fun design notes style. The kind I grew up reading as a player when I was younger. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Words really can’t describe how excited I am about moving forward with this story we’re cookin!
