You don’t have to be from a galaxy far far away to celebrate May the Fourth. The Dark Lord returns to Battleon, bringing with him multiple seasonal shops, including… May the 4th, Revenge of the 5th, the May the 4th Housing Collection, Black Helm Crafting, and of course past May 4th collections.


[h2]Community Shop Update[/h2]
This week, we are rolling out some DuckyDucky housing items for the community shop that will be available for purchase from Zilla’s community shop. You can find Zilla in both Yulgar’s Inn and the Battleon Social District for 10 DuckDucky coins each. In addition to the DuckyDucky house items available in the shops, a special ghostly variant will drop off of the DuckyDucky spawns.


[h2]A New Start[/h2]
We’ve been hard at work revamping AdventureQuest 3D over the last year. The team and I are so excited for you to get your hands on the revamped introduction to AdventureQuest 3D, which will start with your adventures in Mossmere that will kick off the new main story for AdventureQuest 3D. All of the gameplay and system changes we’ve been making to AdventureQuest 3D have truly been leading up to this - a brand new main campaign with exciting new characters and mysteries to uncover. All built upon the foundation we’ve been forging with systems like Heroic Skills and Spellforged gear. We look forward to you all questing through Mossmere and arriving at the new version of Battleon, where your journey through Lore will truly begin. And don’t worry… as a thank you for partaking in playing through our new beginning. There will be a reward… a platinum promise.


[h2]New Battleon?[/h2]
We’re hard at work finishing up Mossmere, but development on AdventureQuest 3D truly never ends. Mossmere was designed to be part of the Greenguard region, so a lot of the assets we’ve been building will be used to revamp the whole of Greenguard, including Battleon, as you can see in the picture above. While still very early, things are progressing fast!

A lot of players have been asking me directly what will happen to the current Battleon… Nothing! Well, for the most part. Current Battleon will remain accessible as a legacy map and be left untouched, save for a portal to the current Battleon. That way, no queststrings will be broken and those who just wanna hang out in Battleon can still do so! So as we build the new story, know that you will still be able to play through all that is currently in the game. I think the only thing we really wanna change is maybe removing the portal cutscenes… At least the ones that are there, that is.

Once we finish Battleon, this will lead us into the new Greenguard that will surround Battleon and Mossmere. While chapter 1 of our new story will take place in Greenguard that doesn’t mean Chapter 2 will be a revamped Heartwood. In fact, right now we’ve been leaning towards something more… coastal…

As I have more info to share, I’ll keep you posted here in the Design Notes, really hoping to return to a more casual and fun design notes style. The kind I grew up reading as a player when I was younger. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Words really can’t describe how excited I am about moving forward with this story we’re cookin!

Hi heroes! To celebrate Earth Day, Reed is back in Battleon, helping players revisit previous seasonal content. This includes loads of returning gear and the nostalgic "Voice of the Forest" questline. It's a great time to explore or catch up on past Earth-themed adventures.


[h2]🌸 Spire’s Blossom[/h2]
A new permanent questline has bloomed in Ravenspire! Visit the town’s gardener to begin “Spire’s Bloom” and earn tokens for eco-themed rewards like back accessories and house items. There’s no rush—this content isn’t going anywhere, so take your time and stop to smell the roses, so to speak.


[h2]🧝‍♀️ Readying for (Re)Launch![/h2]
AdventureQuest 3D's revamped intro and main story relaunch are nearly here, kicking off with a mysterious new job from a client named Solestia. What starts as a simple escort mission quickly takes a magical turn when a shimmering portal opens before you. Stepping through it leads you to Mossmere—a peaceful mining village nestled deep within Greenguard, and the beginning of a much bigger journey.

Mossmere is a secluded, serene village built into the rocky terrain of Greenguard, protected by nature itself. You arrive there alongside Solestia, unaware of the secrets about to unfold. What you uncover here will tie your fate to Lore’s—and test the strength of your hero’s heart.


[h2]🗺️ What Comes After Mossmere[/h2]
Mossmere marks the beginning of AQ3D's new storytelling approach, with each saga expanding a region week by week. Future content will include a redesigned Battleon and an expanded Greenguard. Every release—from big quests to side missions—will help deepen the world and bring each zone to life.


[h2]🏘️ Beyond Battleon[/h2]
Battleon is getting a full visual and functional revamp to feel more like its classic self and easier to navigate. Alongside it, new villages and towns like Amityvale (for Doomwood) and eventually Swordhaven are in the works. These hubs will be central to their regions and packed with story and exploration content.

Meet Hoppity the Gnome an Easter themed seasonal variant of Doddery, here to spread some cheer! Arriving with the festive gnome is a new purchasable summon and cosmetic rewards, from a pet and travel form to different armor pieces so you can match Hoppity’s style. Hop to it!


Hooper has been investigating the Grenwog for years. The tracks always lead him to Battleon’s surroundings, but he has never caught sight of the creature. Hop down deep into what may be the Grenwog’s Lair, and fight monsters of all flavors: Rock Candy, Taffy, Hard Candy, and... Angry Carrots? While you’re in the cavern, gather Pixie Dust to harvest and place carrots to lure the Grenwog to you, just like a professional Grenwog Hunter would do!

If you’re lucky enough to encounter the Grenwog, and survive, return to Hopper with the Chocolate Grenwog Eggs you collected. He will happily trade them for some delicious new armors and weapons.

You can also earn Chocolate Grenwog Eggs from Time Carrots and the Bunny Berserker in Old Battleon. However, Grenwog is the only monster with guaranteed Chocolate Egg drops every time.

Egglin joins the Grenwog for seasonal fun, speak with him in the town of Battleon and do battle with Roggbert in Arcangrove Forest.


Additional Heroic Essence rewards have been added to the game. We’ve almost got all end-game weapons covered now and will continue the process of updating the previous end-game weapons to work with the Heroic Essence system. Stay tuned for more!

The wait is over—the Heroic Skill system is complete and ready to shape the future of AdventureQuest 3D!

For those unfamiliar, Heroic Skills have been in development ever since we overhauled the Skill System back in November 2024. As a quick refresher, AdventureQuest 3D’s skills now fall into distinct classifications, offering more depth and customization for your hero.

Get ready to experience a whole new level of combat!

Class Skills: Core abilities that come with your class by default.

Cross Skills: Special Rank 10 skills that can be used across all classes.

Base Skills: Fundamental utility skills designed for general use.

PVP Skills: Combat abilities specifically for PVP, which can only be equipped in the Battle Hall.

Heroic Skills: Earned through gold purchases, drops, or quest rewards, these skills let you further personalize your playstyle.

Alongside the updates to skill functionality, we’ve expanded the item bar to support multiple Cross, Base, PVP, and the upcoming Heroic Skills. This allows you to equip up to two extra skills, giving you more ways to customize your hero’s playstyle.

With the launch of Heroic Skills, we’re also extending the action bar—now letting you select up to three skills of your choice for even greater flexibility in battle!


[h2]Summon Werewolf Centurion[/h2]
The first Heroic Skill introduced in AdventureQuest 3D is Summon Werewolf Centurion! This marks the fulfillment of a long-standing promise as we continue working toward highly requested features like mounts.

The Ticket for Your Own Werewolf Centurion was originally added during the Darkovia saga but never served a real purpose—until now. We wanted to do right by the players who worked hard to obtain it, and turning it into a Heroic Skill felt like the perfect way to bring it to life. Now, you can summon your very own Werewolf Centurion in battle!


[h2]Flash of Light[/h2]
The second Heroic Skill to join AdventureQuest 3D, Flash of Light, pushes us further toward our goal—giving players more freedom to shape their gameplay and allowing classes to take on multiple roles.

This skill serves as a healing ability, enabling more classes to enhance their sustainability or specialize in group support. As we continue rolling out new Heroic Skills, you’ll gain even more ways to customize your playstyle, especially when combined with Base Skills, Cross Skills, and Spellforged equipment.


[h2]Heroic Rewards[/h2]
A new reward system is arriving this week: Heroic Essence! You might be wondering, "Clarion, what’s Heroic Essence?" To which I’d respond, "I have no idea how we’re conversing through a blog post, but hey, that’s a little unsettling!" Then I’d explain—Heroic Essence is designed to grant you extra rewards for battling end-game bosses.

This essence drops at a guaranteed 100% rate from current end-game bosses with high-value loot. Gather enough, and you can visit Sir Arthur Lanceler in his tomb to trade them for unique variants of that boss’s weapon. This system is intended as a long-term reward for the most dedicated players. Moving forward, each major boss will have an essence tied to their gear variants.

On top of boss-specific essence, you’ll also see a more general “Heroic Essence” dropping from all level 50 bosses. These will come into play later, allowing you to obtain items from a special shop—an extra perk for dedicated boss slayers. This marks the beginning of our effort to make boss fights in AdventureQuest 3D more rewarding.

While this system primarily caters to hardcore players, we have plans to introduce additional features for more casual adventurers in the future. Plus, for a limited time, we’re reducing the essence cost for the first batch of rewards. Once this initial period ends, costs will return to their standard rate. Prepare for battle, and claim your Heroic Essence!


[h2]Final Batch Of Back Item Conversions[/h2]
The last wave of Back Item to Back Accessory conversions is now complete! After one relentless, sleepless night, every remaining intended Back Item has been transformed into an Accessory. With over 150 fresh conversions, there’s a huge variety of new looks to explore!

Logging in, you will notice you have mail… from DEATH!? Head over to Death’s Lair, and you’ll find a shop with Death’s Bows. These fashionable headpieces don’t cost anything! A free gift from DEATH for all your hard work!


[h2]Twerking[/h2]
Twerking has been added to Piddie the Fool’s Shop and the Emote Shop for 2500 Dragon Crystals. The emote also comes with a title “Back it Up”. If you’re in need of a new emote for a spontaneous dance battle, this might be just what you’re looking for! Use responsibly! This legendary technique can cause uncontrollable fits of laughter.


[h2]New Treasure Chest Reward[/h2]
The Rose Spear of Blooming has been added to the loot pool of the treasure chest featuring a Pink and Rose Gold color scheme. This spear is looking drop-dead gorgeous.

[h2]Piddie the Fool and Chicken Cow Return![/h2]
Piddie the Fool and his foolish antics have returned to Battleon, bringing goods from the Mountain Pew Potion to that Potato Pet. Make sure to drop by before he leaves at the end of the month. Piddie the Fool is not alone… for the Mighty Chicken cow has descended to Battleon’s Social District seeking a challenge… do you have what it takes to combat ultimate protein power?
