The winds of war blow once again across Lore. A tale of revenge and duty is about to unfold. The Blackthorn Fleet, a group of fierce pirates led by Captain Mordred Blackthorn, demands the head of Master Kurohane, the leader of the Midori Kage ninja clan, to avenge the death of Mordred’s only son, Arthur Blackthorn. With tensions higher than ever, a mysterious voice calls to Mordred, offering a chance to avenge his son by summoning him to the Island of Titans with promises of power. Unbeknownst to him, Ninja Master Kurohane is also heeding a similar call, one that warns of a calamity threatening his clan but offers a way to prevent it. It’s time to pick a side, brave hero of Lore. Travel to the Island of Titans and fight for the cause you believe in!


[h2]The Blackthorn Fleet[/h2]
The Blackthorn Fleet is a formidable group of pirates feared by the people of Lolosia. They believe in a life of freedom, unshackled by society’s rules, as free as the wind that blows across the ocean. Unfortunately for those around them, this means they steal and do as they please.


[h2]The Midori Kage Clan[/h2]
A secretive ninja clan with a long history, the Midori Kage have outposts across the Mysterious Islands. Over the years, they have accumulated many valuable treasures and relics. The Midori Kage value tradition and honor and do not take kindly to outsiders trespassing in their territory.


[h2]War Has Changed[/h2]
The AdventureQuest 3D war system has been completely revamped. Previously, you had to turn in quests to gain progress for the war meter, with all quests counting for the same amount of progress. Now, you can gain progress for your faction’s war meter through various means. Killing monsters, summoning additional troops, and even repairing structures can all contribute to filling up the meter and can be worth different amounts. Additionally, for this war, we are experimenting with a dual storyline, updating the story of the ongoing conflict weekly, so don’t forget to check back!


[h2]Spawn Reinforcements[/h2]
By completing quests, defeating enemy units, and fishing, you can gather materials to turn in with your faction’s NPCs in exchange for items to spawn the reinforcements of your choice.


[h2]Rewards![/h2]
As the war meter fills up for your faction, you will be able to earn more rewards, including pets, travel forms, armors, and weapons. This time, the items you can unlock are themed around the specific faction you are fighting for.


[h2]Returning Content[/h2]
With it being Friday the 13th Camp Gonnagetcha has opened up once more! Head on over to Yulgar’s Inn and speak to Dottie, the High Archcounseler to book your trip to Campe Gonnagetcha while it’s still open.


[h2]New Promo Items: Draconic Dread Canons[/h2]
Our September promo item are the Draconic Dread Canons! To get this menacing dragon gun, just purchase any package in the upgrade shop, now with 50% extra Dragon Crystals on select packages. For those that get one of the Guardian upgrade packages, you will also get the Draconic Canons at no extra cost.


[h2]An Evolving Conflict…[/h2]
Next week, the war continues with an expanding plot unique to both factions. And of course, the Talk Like a Pirate Day collection will arrive! This collection will be themed around the war and feature two new class skins: the Doom Pirate and the Doom Ninja.

[h2]Enter the HATch[/h2]
A strange… person?... has shown up in the town of Battleon this week. If you head over to the Barber Shop you will find Hatrick, the Man of Hats. Hatrick, as you might guess really enjoys hats. He’s obsessed with them in fact. He travels the land in search of rare hats to add to his hat collection, however. This time he needs your help to obtain a hat. Travel to the Hat Tomb and grab it for him. Obviously, this is a simple task for a hero such as yourself.


[h2]Collect Hats[/h2]
Once you’ve helped Hatrick out a little you’ll be able to obtain hats from him and.. Horns? Hat-orns…? Collect Powerful Hat Essence from all monsters in the zones. You can also earn Powerful Hat Essence by running the 3 Daily Quests that Hatrick will have available to help you along the way.


[h2]Travel Forms and Pets?![/h2]
Hatrick also has Travel Forms and Pets?!… They wear hats so no rules are being broken with this theme!


[h2]Class Balance Changes[/h2]
In our ongoing effort to tune classes and put more fun and power in the hands of the player, we’ve made some changes to both the Pirate and Ninja classes, giving them some AoE.

• Pirate: Flak Shot is now an AoE
  
• Ninja: Both Slashing Gale and Fire Strike are now AoEs

[h2]Prepare For War…[/h2]
Next week the Pirate vs Ninja war begins! We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to create a new war using feedback from the Invasion From the Deep. One of these changes is how the War Meter is progressed. Originally, you would only get a set amount from turning in a quest… Any quest. We’ve worked hard to change that system to allow you to earn varying amounts of progress so harder quests will fill the meter faster. But, it doesn’t stop there! These updates to the war system go beyond allowing different quests to have varying impacts on the war effort. Kills and other actions can now count towards filling up that bar. We look forward to seeing you on the battlefield!

This week we’re adding a new boss to the social district along with two new shops. A dog-themed onesie shop to match the cats. These shops will use all the same materials as the cat day shop so if you have any leftover materials you’re in luck!


[h2]Big Dog[/h2]
The BIG DOG has been let loose in the social district joining the Vicious Cat as a social boss that drops Bits of Pet Fur. You can use these totally not gross tokens to get cat and dog-themed onesies from Not Alma in the social district.


[h2]Dog Onesies[/h2]
Just like Cat Day you will be able to earn “Bit of Pet Fur” tokens from defeating the bosses in the social district to turn in to Not Alma for fluffy pet themed rewards.


[h2]Dog Housing Items[/h2]
We’ve also added some dog-themed housing items using the usual housing item materials.


[h2]Server Boost[/h2]
Woohoo! For one week we will be running a 150% XP and Class XP boost to assist in your adventures. Grind hard, heroes!

It’s the last chance for our August promo items, the Azurecrest Cape and Shield! This week players will meet up with Bob-O once again and learn more about the Azurecrest Lance. Travel to a mysterious island that once was a home for both Water Elves and early Lolosian settlers. Uncover it’s dark history and eventually empower your Azurecrest Lance into one of two new powerful Spellforged weapons.


[h2]Azurecrest Armor[/h2]
The Azurecrest armor is but one of the rewards you’ll find on your adventures. This statted rare quality gear will be an alternative way to get caught up if you’re feeling a little behind in gearing.


[h2]Will you choose Redemption?[/h2]
One of the two upgrade paths you can choose for the Azurecrest lance is Redemption. This regal weapon has the power to call down lightning dealing high damage to the enemy struck.


[h2]Or Scorn?[/h2]
The alternative is Scorn, a loathsome shadowy weapon that drains the life force of your enemies healing you with every strike. The choice is yours to make, but don’t feel too bad you can eventually create the opposite weapon to the one you chose as the boss at the end of the Azurecrest Lance’s storyline has a chance to drop more.


[h2]Primal Orb Pet Update[/h2]
Last week I released a statement about an error I made in releasing an item that was supposed to be reserved to players who purchased the Primal Orb Pet. As promised we are providing a shop attached to the Primal Orb Pet that will give you access to a Fiend Cape of Nulgath without the requirement of any Lost Fragments of Nulgath. Additionally, I had asked Dage to craft an exclusive version of the game known as the Primal Fiend Cape of Nulgath which will also be in the shop for no additional cost.


[h2]What’s Next?[/h2]
I’m really excited to share some information on what we’ve got cooking. The team is hard at work creating a unique Talk Like a Pirate Day event this year. But, this isn’t your typical Talk Like a Pirate Day affair. As a long-time fan of Artix Entertainment and the original AdventureQuest, I’m super excited to announce we are working on a Pirate vs Ninja War for this year’s Talk Like a Pirate Day. Splinter factions within the two groups have formed and seek to put an end to the opposing side once and for all. However, this desire for destruction has awoken an ancient evil from deep within the Mysterious Isles. A new island emerges from the sea and an unseen voice calls out to the war-hungry leaders of both factions. Whispers of ancient weapons of unparalleled destruction can be theirs, an ultimate solution to their problems… DOOM to the opposing faction.

The Pirate vs Ninja War introduces two new DOOM weapons into AdventureQuest 3D. Along with two new Class Skins. It’s with great pleasure that I announce the Doom Pirate and Doom Ninja, we’ve been working on this stuff in the background for a while now and the team is really excited for you guys to get your hands on this sometime in September.

We’ve begun work on a new Saga about a month ago. I can’t say too much about it yet, but I’d like to show you early progress.

This week in AdventureQuest 3D players we’ve added the unreleased Nulgath items to the Oversoul. Head on over to talk to Poniard in the Forge of the Forlorn to access a shop containing lost Nulgath items.


[h2]Armors…[/h2]
Two armor sets, both obtainable through farming the new token which drops off monsters all over the Oversoul or via doing 3 new daily quests that involve fighting the current 3 big bosses in AdventureQuest 3D.


[h2]Scratch![/h2]
One of the two new travel forms added this patch is Skratch, the DOOM KITTY for Dragon Crystals. But Skratch is not alone…


[h2]Vicious AND Overgrown?![/h2]
The Vicious Overgrown Cat is also obtainable for Dragon Crystals in the new shop.


[h2]Apocalys[/h2]
Apocalys was an unreleased sword made by Dage, it was a shame for this weapon to lay dormant in the vault so not only are we releasing it. We’ve made it into a level 50 Spellforged weapon.

Finally, we… uh, ripped apart our Gnome-y friend and turned his parts into items you can earn from Gnome Berries
