Greetings Exiles!

We’re releasing a hotfix before vacations that addresses some pending issues reported after the last patch. Please note: Although the keybinding fix should prevent this issue from happening, those who were affected by the double keybinding issue prior to this hotfix should restore their key settings to default.

We’re also doubling decay timers on all official servers for a month so you can all enjoy these upcoming days with your loved ones.

Also remember that we have an ongoing screenshot contest where you can win some sweet goodies. You can read all about it in its announcement thread in our forums.

Please remember that updates can mess with your installed mods. We suggest taking a backup of your current database before updating to any new patch if you have mods installed.

• Fixed some situations in which it would be possible to refill arrow stacks with different stat values.
  

• Thralls and pets would on some instances lose their progress on a server restart. This should now be fixed.
  

• Fixed an issue that would cause two actions to be bound to the same key when changing keybindings. Those previously affected by this issue should restore their keybindings to default after patching to get this change applied.

It’s finally that time of the year… again! During the next few weeks most of you will be busy spending quality time with your loved ones and suffering terrible dad jokes about the end of the year.

As such, we are doubling the decay timers on official servers to two weeks (14 days) in celebration. This change will remain in effect until January 20th, 2020, effective on all platforms.

We’re also running a new screenshot contest where you can send us your best recreation of famous holiday movie scenes. You can check out all about it in our announcement post in our forums.

Ahh, December. The time for giving, maybe decorating a dying tree with shiny things and leaving it up until March, lighting candles and setting your enemy's house on fire for warmth on a cold day, and siting upon King Conan's knee telling him what you want.

Besides those traditions, what better way to celebrate than watching your favorite Christmas/Holiday movies? Yes, Nightmare Before Christmas counts. IT'S A CHRISTMAS MOVIE DAMMIT.


We want you to recreate a scene, a building, person, iconic item, whatever from your favorite holiday movie. You could build the town of Whoville, make a character resemble Scrooge in his dark cold mansion, a screenshot of Tim Allen killing Santa, or so on! The judges (community managers) will judge based on creativity and how well it compares to the movie.


The contest will run from today until December 31st, 2019. No more entries will be accepted after this date. The winners will be announced on January 7th, 2020.

• Must be a movie set during the holiday season or have a scene in which it is present. Elf, A Christmas Story, Jack Frost, Home Alone, and such may come to mind. But don't forget about Die Hard, Edward Scissorhands, and Gremlins too! It can also be a movie not well known or well received or even one from a different country.
  
• You can send them in any format. Screenshots, videos, gifs, are allowed. You could take screenshots and put them in comic form to act out a scene from your chosen movie. Or do it instead through a video. Or send pictures of your recreated building. These are just some examples.
  
• Entries must be emailed to us here: [email protected]. Entries not submitted via this email will not be counted.
  
• To make sure your email is for the contest, please be sure this is your subject line: Conan Exiles Holiday Contest
• In the body of your email please mention the titles of the movie your scene is from as well as describe or share which scene. Also tell us if you did it on PS4, Xbox, or PC.
  
• NO MODS ALLOWED. We want to make it fair for everyone.
  
• You can use Ansel on PC to take screenshots.
  
• You can use DLC pieces.
  
• You can absolutely use admin powers if you're doing this on singleplayer/private server.
  
• Only one entry per person. We do not accept multiple entries.
  
• Please refrain from sending pictures taken from mobile phone.
  
• No photoshop or edits outside of the game. (resizing and cropping is fine)

We went over community feedback regarding the latest update and discussed it with the rest of the team.

It was clear that many of you felt strongly about the newest movement changes. We also agree that we didn’t leave enough room for testing, which is something we’ll take a closer look at next year and work on improving.

The designers feel that the momentum feature is an essential part of the mount experience. So while we’re keeping it in, we also made some adjustments based on your feedback.

This change is part of today’s patch. Please check out the adjustments and let us know how they feel. We do appreciate all of you and thank you for your ongoing support and for being part of our community.

• Fixed an issue where it was possible to dismantle the Stables for the wrong amount of resources.
  
• Fixed an undermesh exploit.
  
• Fixed an issue where it was possible to move another player.
  

• Fixed an issue where armor penetration on bows and arrows would stack incorrectly.
  
• Fixed an issue where the Accuracy 40 perk worked for NPCs but not for players.
  

• Fixed an issue where pet levels could reset after dedicated server restart.
  
• Decreased thrall damage output.
  

• Increased the Demon-Fire Barrage damage for buildings by about 40%
  
• Decreased stone requirement for Siege Boulder recipe from 250 to 150 stone.
  

• Fixed an issue where health regeneration was giving too much health points per tick.
  
• Fixed an issue where logging in, other mounted nearby players could have a desynched relative location to their mounts.
  
• Fixed an issue where character customization options would reset (temporarily) to default while mounted.
  
• Fixed an issue where the player’s breath bar would drain when on a mount in water.
  
• Fixed an issue that would cause certain thralls to be locked to a certain growth rate.
  
• Fixed an issue regarding sprinting mode not toggling off automatically when the mount stops.
  

• Removed spawnpoints for foals from near the starting river. Foals still exist in other places on the map.
  

• Tweaked player movement acceleration based on community feedback.
  
• Fixed an issue where using swords while mounted could stutter animations.
  
• Fixed an issue where walking backwards while mounted would affect the weapon attack animation and the mount walking direction.
  

• Fixed an issue with stretched paperdoll models in inventory and stats menu.
  
• Keybindings for mounts can now be changed (Bound to the same keys as normal movement).
  

[h2]Separate TestLive Product on Steam[/h2]

We heard your input regarding the inconvenience with having to switch back and forth between the main game and our TestLive servers. To make it easier for you and because we really value your testing and feedback, we added a separate product for the TestLive server on Steam.

If you own Conan Exiles on Steam, you should now see a separate Product called “Conan Exiles - Testlive Client” in your library which gives you the option to install an additional instance of the game specifically for the TestLive servers. Please be aware that this will prompt you for a full additional installation.

We are aware that not everyone wants install or has space for two full installations. For those of you who don’t want to play through the additional TestLive Client, you can still access the TestLive servers through our old method.

We’re excited to announce that Conan Exiles will be free to play on Steam this weekend, starting from Thursday, December 12, until Monday, December 16!

With Update 38, our most important update since launch, we added mounts and mounted combat, a highly requested feature by the Conan Exiles community. We’ve also added a leveling system to pets and thralls, making them grow stronger as they fight alongside you. Complimentary to that, we released our latest DLC pack, Riders of Hyboria, which includes new placeables, armor pieces, weapons and building pieces that let you build your own stables.
