Tanks and the City

We bet that you sometimes think about big city lights when driving around the hills of Oasis Palms or taking cover behind the ancient walls of Fort Despair and Naval Frontier. Update 6.2 makes those big city dreams come true. Meet a brand new map called New Bay! It's available in rating and regular battles and in Supremacy and Encounter Battle modes for vehicles of Tier VII and higher.

The map layout in Supremacy mode | The map layout in Encounter battles

Here, massive concrete skyscrapers rise above the clouds while brick buildings from the previous century tell the long tale of their lives. The cable bridge, the map's unique feature, overlooks the city's port, ready to play a part in tankers' memorable battle moments.

[1] Bridge

Let's examine the zones. The bridge across the river is the most unique part of the metropolis. Time after time, quick light tanks will climb on top. Some tank destroyers might take a risk and support their allies' advance since there's a great view of the routes from the spawning point to the center of the map. It's quite convenient to shave off HP from those who dared to capture the base in Encounter Battles, and numerous cross-overs let you quickly change directions. In Supremacy mode, base A is hidden under the bridge. Surrounded by buildings and containers, it won't be easy to reduce capture points.

[3] Park and [2] construction site

You can take a break when you are in the park or the construction area. It's quite convenient to hide under old majestic oaks or in the lowlands of the construction site. Concealed by the dense urban area, you can advance in Supremacy mode by capturing bases B and C.

[4] Chinatown and [5] Downtown

Spawn and go along the wide main roads to reach the district with distinctive eastern elements or its neighbor, Downtown. It's a suitable place for regrouping before retaking the port or pushing the attack. There are a couple great sniper positions suitable for supporting any strike near the Chinese gates. While you're waiting for the enemy to appear in your sights, treat yourself to a donut at a local café!

[6] Cargo terminal and [7] Port Warehouse

Despite the cold wind coming off the river, it's always hot here. Light tanks will try to hit the rears of vehicles at the spawning point of spot every enemy, moving or not. Heavy tanks hidden behind containers and warehouse buildings can easily defend key bases.

[8, 10] Uptown and [9, 11] Central Train Station

Team spawn points are placed at the edges of the map. From there, heavy tanks will roll towards the center, but they should act quickly if they don't want to take some shells to their sides. Faster vehicles will rush towards the bridge. Tanks destroyers can take their time, creep a little forward, and punish careless spotters.

Let's take a ride in a big city somewhere on the east coast of America! You'll experience the two-level gameplay, streets with famous buildings, and a new version of hide-and-seek.

The M4/FL10: A Wonder Drum

The M4/FL10 is a tank of many faces. It's both French and American, a medium and a light tank, a drummer and... not a drummer. Let's make sense of this riddle!
https://youtu.be/hOiqp8J0hVo
The M4/FL10 can be unpredictable and adapt to any battle situation like no other. Its unique gun, which combines the advantages of a standard loading system and a magazine loading system, is its greatest strength. Unleash the entire magazine at an enemy tank and finish it off with single blasts without having to wait until all the shells are reloaded. Opponents will never know what to expect from you next!

Before August 21, many players will receive an offer to purchase the M4/FL10. Add this new Premium tank with a magazine autoreloading system to your Garage!

The M4/FL10 is a hybrid using the hull of the American M4 Sherman medium tank and the turret of the French AMX 13 light tank. This union looks quite impressive: the vehicle outline will be a delight to the eyes of both fans of the American classics and admirers of French tank design.

This newbie has something to brag about. It features a great amount of HP for a medium tank, good maneuverability, and an excellent view range. But the crown jewel of its advantages is its three-shell magazine with an autoreloading system. It allows you to use the M4/FL10 as both a tank with a magazine-fed gun and a vehicle with a standard loading system depending on the battle situation.

The magazine-fed gun reloads only after all shells have been fired. But the M4/FL10 breaks this rule. Its mechanism starts reloading a new shell in the magazine right after each shot.

If you fire off the entire magazine, the first shell will be ready to fire in 4.31 seconds. The second and third shells are loaded in 3.84 and 3.36 seconds, respectively. But remember that if you fire before the shell has completely loaded, the reloading process will be restarted.

The autoreloading system allows the M4/FL10 to be flexible and unpredictable. Analyze the battle situation and decide whether it will be more effective to hurl single shots or unleash a hailstorm of shells at the enemy.

If you're sure that three shots will be enough to eliminate the enemy, go ahead and blaze through the entire magazine. You can also play it safe by fending off enemy attacks with single shots. The M4/FL10 will pose a difficult challenge to any rival in combat. The latter will never know whether it's going to be treated to one shell or three shells at once.

Since the armor of this rookie isn't the most reliable, it should avoid exposing itself to enemy fire. The tank has 76 mm of armor in the front and 40 mm of armor on the sides, which are enhanced with a 76 mm plate. The rear is protected with the same 40 mm and an additional screen.

While the M4/FL10 inherited its hull from a medium tank, its turret was taken from a light one, which of course affected the vehicle's protection. With 76 mm of frontal armor and no gun mantlet, the vehicle's turret is quite vulnerable and not ideal for blocking damage.

The M4/FL10 doesn't like to rush towards the barricades. It's much more effective as a support tank when teamed up with heavy tanks. Though not outstanding, the Sherman's engine provides this newbie with a good top speed of 52 km/h. Thus, it can quickly move across the map and strike the enemy from the flanks or rear. That's where its gun with a short aiming time and excellent rate of fire comes in.

Only 1.33 seconds are needed to reload a single shell into the magazine after firing. As a result, the M4/FL10 needs less than five seconds to reel off its entire magazine at the enemy. Clumsy heavies will hardly have time to fire a volley in response. Don't forget about the autoreloading system either. You can keep firing without having to wait for the magazine to be fully loaded.

The M4/FL10 is an unusual tank that is hard to catch by surprise. Master the magazine autoreloading system and experiment with your tactics and playstyle. As for your enemy... Let it be your test subject!

The Mighty Behemoth VK 168.01 (P)

What's that rumble? Why is the ground on all maps trembling? Since when do two-story buildings drive around battlefields mowing down innocent tanks?

Stop panicking! This is not an assault of titans. It's the new German Premium VK 168.01 (P), which has joined the battle. A massive, heavily armored tank equipped with a 128 mm club of a gun, this tank gives "heavy" a whole new meaning.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhpN0zR1m2g
Hurry up to the in-game Store till August 2 and buy yourself a bundle: the VK 168.01 (P) with the Hardy Rare camouflage and full equipment or just the VK 168.01 with a Garage slot. Enjoy the might of this German behemoth at your disposal and swat away enemies like bugs!

A steel titan joins the battle!

The VK 168.01 (P) represents one of the projects preceding the emergence of the most monstrous creation of German tank building, the legendary Maus. That explains the similar characteristics these vehicles share, with adjustments for the differences in tiers:

The Titan's Armor

The VK 168.01 (P) amply justifies the title of a super heavy tank. Its front is protected with 180 mm of armor on the hull and 230 mm on the turret. No wonder many enemy shells fail to damage this steel giant. The enemy might as well be attacking it with a bow and arrow or throwing tennis balls!

Its sturdy sides with supplementary screens over the double tracks help the VK 168.01 (P) absorb damage even more effectively by sidescraping. The same is true for the turret. Take a hint from the experienced Maus-keepers and turn the turret a little to the side in between shots.

No self-respecting colossus will enter battle without giving the enemy a chance to win. That's why the armor of the VK 168.01 (P) has several weak spots. It's nothing new: the lower armor plate, the commander's cupola, and the machine gun nest will help a skilled opponent even the odds in this epic showdown.

The Giant's Club

The impressive gun of the VK 168.01 (P) indeed resembles a heavy club. Its 16-second-long backswing is followed by a somewhat inaccurate, but highly devastating 460 HP blow!

The penetration is high enough to pierce the frontal armor of most Tier VII–VIII vehicles. Even if the main armor doesn't cave, the shells are guaranteed to deliver damage to weak spots. Fighting Tier IX armored tanks will be harder, but that's when the APCR shells capable of 390 HP of damage will come in handy.

Thanks to its configuration characteristics, the VK 168.01 (P) has a good chance of succeeding in a toe-to-toe clash with other heavies. The lower armor plate or the commander's cupola will stay unreachable to most adversaries. Tanks with a more road-hugging hull simply won't see it, while the tall VK 168.01 (P) can leisurely hurl shells at the lightly protected roofs of enemy turrets.

Head-on clashes are still a risky tactic. If a low vehicle sneaks up on the giant's side, shaking off the enemy will be a real struggle. It's either the allies that will come to the rescue or the nearest rock that can help get the pesky enemy off.

A highly placed gun provides the VK 168.01 (P) with another advantage that is not so obvious in a close encounter. At a distance of 7 to 20 meters, the sloped armor of enemy vehicles doesn't seem so sloped anymore. Without the slope, even the strongest armor plate won't stand against this new tank's powerful blows!

The Terrestrial Dreadnought

When the VK 168.01 (P) rolls forward, it feels like a heavily armored battleship is leaving the pier. It travels across distances slowly, with the grandeur of a dreadnought conscious of its power, leaving the hustle and bustle to smaller tanks.

However, it would be unjust to complain about the VK 168.01 (P)'s low speed. This monster weighs 168 tons! It's a miracle this giant is able to move at all. A huge 1,600 horsepower engine takes care of that business. And this enormous power is not wasted. Whatever the road conditions, the speedometer will almost always display the maximum of 20 km/h!

It's difficult to say goodbye to your dreams, but for this tank, a future figure skating career isn’t exactly written in the stars. Still, the VK 168.01 (P)'s maneuverability turns out to be better in practice than one would expect at first. The traverse speed is enough to prevent the enemy from targeting vulnerable points. The ability to turn on the spot adds to the shooting comfort and ease of maneuvering around narrow streets and other covers.

But you better not drive this new tank into the open field. Enemy tanks will whirl around you and shoot. But with any cover nearby, any quick-footed fan of outmaneuvering will most likely stumble, and the total traverse and turret turning speed of the VK 168.01 will suffice to deliver a heavy retaliatory hit to the racer!

It's only in fairy tales that giants are easily defeated by sagacity and deftness. There's only one piece of advice that can help if you meet the VK 168.01 (P) in battle: run for your life tracks!
