Excited to announce a new update for Bigscreen launching today!

Earlier this summer, we launched a built-in videoplayer that lets you watch your own videos with your friends. This is hugely popular, especially on mobile/Quest.

Today's update adds support for the DLNA protocol, enabling you to wirelessly browse and watch your video and music files. We now support a variety of media servers and Plex via DLNA, so you no longer need to manually copy files onto your Quest. You can wirelessly stream it from your PC or NAS!



Over the next 3 months, Bigscreen will be launching several major projects we've been working on for the past year:

• major new movie studio partnerships with thousands of new 2D & 3D movies, including 3D movies in the UK and many more countries
  
• launching an unreleased blockbuster movie on Bigscreen, never before seen in the world, the same day it's available in theaters & digital
  
• Friends System
  
• Remote Desktop (we've spent the past year developing ultra-low latency streaming -- only 10-15ms latency! Wirelessly stream your PC desktop --> Quest for playing games with friends and collaborating with coworkers)
  
• new environments, avatars, and a paid membership plan

📝 New Update: Bug Fixes
Hey everyone, we pushed an update to fix some more bugs!

Release Notes:

• Added 'SIGN UP' buttons to more areas in the app while on an unregistered account.
  
• Fixed an issue on PCVR with the minimize button not working in some cases.
  
• Fixed an issue with some toys breaking upon leaving the room.

SpaceX is expected to launch the Falcon 9 rocket tonight at around 10:12PM PT / 1:12AM ET to deploy more Starlink satellites into an elliptical orbit. Two BlackSky satellites will be on top of the Starlink stack as rideshare payloads. Join over 3000 rocket launch fans for tonight's event! Our team had some time to squeeze in several bug fixes, like content captured from selfie sticks or the streamer camera was displaying a black screen. It should be fixed now, so take more photos and share your most exciting moments!

- Added a reload button for movie rentals.
- Made some user experience improvements to the parental controls.
- Any set parental pin should be changeable now after it has been entered correctly.

[h3]Fixes[/h3]
- Fixed a problem with longer usernames causing the room UI to appear improperly.
- Addressed a problem which had the possibly of users being stuck at the register page if the app was launched a certain way.
- Fixed an issue that had content blackscreen in the footage of all the app's capture features. Notably, the selfie stick and streamer camera.
- Fixed an issue which had hand inputs being locked after using the slider controls a certain way.
- Fixed a problem with the menu dash's clock being word wrapped in rare cases.

Hey everyone,

We overhauled how our accounts system work for new users coming in. You are no longer required to register for a Bigscreen account to try out our features! There are certain restrictions though (making public rooms or buying a movie ticket require a registered account), but we made it one step easier for everyone to explore Bigscreen. Please be kind to everyone in our public spaces and use common sense. We hope you can all welcome new users and help each other out.
