Road to Bifrost #2 - Fire and Ice

We are excited to introduce new biomes coming with the next update. Let’s have a look at those first two environments.


[h2]Muspelheim - Fight through the fire[/h2][hr][/hr]
Muspelheim is a world of fire and flames. It is the birthplace of the Eldthursars and the goldems. It is not the most welcoming environnement... but we’ll let you be the judge of that.

This realm is populated by troublesome lava golems surrounding a towering volcano located at the center of the region... The land of Muspelheim is full of rimesteel, a rare material on Midgard. That is why, this is the best place to forge mighty runes which will be of great help for you and your friends.

[h2]Niflheim - Look beyond the ice[/h2][hr][/hr]
Niflheim is the realm of sea, ice and death. Unfortunate souls trapped in this land are doomed to die and rise from the grave to fight endlessly.

This archipelago is made of several islands, all of which are connected by portals. It will be of great help in your search for the Bifröst. Lost on one of the islands, you'll need to trad carefully. With a six-months long winter, enemies raiding the frozen seas can strike unexpectedly and will prove deadly to those who aren’t prepared.

Road to Bifröst - A new adventure

We're almost at the end of the Open Beta for Bifröst, and it is now time to tell you a little bit more about what to expect in your new adventure...


[h2]A new adventure[/h2][hr][/hr]
Despite the attack of Surtr on Asgard during the events of Cross of Vidar, the Bifröst - the bridge between the worlds - is now open again. The Vanirs, willing to reclaim their position as the gods of all realms, are now using the Bifröst to travel and expand their influence. The clans must leave their old quarrels behind and unite, or Northgard will be doomed. Explore the realms, grow together, and reach the Vanirs to stop those assaults before it’s too late…



[h2]Adapt and survive[/h2][hr][/hr]
To overcome the unending flow of enemies you will have to find an ideal combination of skill and synergy with your teammates. In order to survive, you'll have to share resources, skills, and knowledge. By working together and improving your cooperation, you will become a singular entity, with a unique set of skills, nothing like the clans you might face usually.
Those evolutions will be determined by your choices and by your role among the team.



[h2]Roam through the realms...[/h2][hr][/hr]
Midgard is the realm of humans. It is the furthest land from Vanaheim, and it is where you originate from. While the place might look familiar, don't be fooled, the Vanirs are taking over the place and are rapidly transforming it, by opening new portals to realms unexplored yet.

Reach the Bifröst, explore additional realms and face new challenges that we'll present to you next week...

  • Lore - Overcrowding doesn’t allow to build two Smithy for Kingdom clan
  • Lore - Placed a winter bonus lore on an already unlocked one will give +1 lore learned
  • Lore - “Veiled Threats” From Wolf and “Pain suppressant” from Rat doesn’t work for other clan
  • Lore - “Endless tide” from Kraken doesn’t work for other clan
  • Lore - “Spoils of Plenty” If placed on a lore already unlocked, doesn’t grant the lure
  • Building - Ghost mine can’t be asked if the player asking it doesn’t have necessary resources to build it

We've been able to fix some bugs you've reported to us, but most of the work have also been to implement two new realms for you to test!

  • Kraken now starts the game with the Hörgr as one of the base buildings.
  • The open beta is now working on mac

Public Beta Patch Notes for week 2

Thanks to everyone who joined the open-beta, we’re working on every feedback we received. We’re not gonna introduce new realms this week, instead we’ll give you access to the other clans that were previously unavailable to let you experiment with the synergies and strengths of different clans.

[h2]About the gamemode[/h2][hr][/hr]
We’ve seen some questions and problems that are not exactly bugs, but lack of clarity on some features. So here is a disambiguation on the most frequently reported problems:

  • To start a Bifröst game solo, or with less than 4 players, you have to close player slots in the lobby until all the remaining players slots are filled.
  • On Niflheim - When colonizing the zone with the Town hall ruin, the building seemingly disappears, but you can still assign a villager to where the town hall was to rebuild it. (The visuals will be fixed at some point, but currently the building foundation is invisible)

  • Fixed loading/joining save issue when not owning a DLC clan
  • Fixed earning further time a bonus from an objective tile
  • Fixed True Valkyrie not inflicting damage
  • Fixed Niflheim generation not having 4 portals on main island
  • Fixed Bifrost FX once opened not displayed for Host player
  • Fixed issue with flag for the assault
  • Fixed some crash (unit dying, pathfinding)
  • Fixed freeze when killing the Wyvern

  • Portal from other realm may spawn without unit
  • Ghost mine can’t be asked if the player who asked it doesn’t have enough resource to build it
  • In lobby, if two player select a same building at the same time it will be lock for both
  • Niflheim - Some wave may be stuck when attacking
  • Niflheim - Ship still work in winter
  • Niflheim - No new Town hall for kingdom clan when colonizing a portal
  • Niflheim - Crash may occur when selecting a portal tile
  • Free tower upgrade granted with bonus allows to upgrade 2 time a same tower
  • Nidavellir - Miner can’t mine gemstone
  • Nidavellir - Mines use slots
  • Nidavellir - Operatives Dwarves can’t mine stone from the event
  • Further barricade can be placed on one border (only one should works)
