Halloween just ended, and we are now approaching the release of the next major update for the game.
A lot of things are planned for the next update, and there is one especially that we know you are waiting for. To achieve it, we’ll need your help.

[h2]A beta test to improve the multiplayer experience[/h2]

We know a lot of people are asking for a rework of the current lobby system. That is why we are trying out a new lobby finding system!

To test out this new system, we are looking for players to stress the server and fully explore the features of the multiplayer. We are making this beta test to ensure what we propose reaches your needs in terms of features and quality of life.

For another part of the update you’ll be able to test, Northgard next clan will be available for multiplayer games! Some features are still in progress, so we’ll gladly receive bug reports and feedback on the matter as well.

[h2]Some questions you might have[/h2]

Why is it not matchmaking?

A lot of explanations were made on that subject, but the main point was that the player base of Northgard is not sufficient at the moment to offer a functional and satisfying match-making system. The new system makes you reach a lobby that matches your profile and preferences without having you check several lobbies in a row.
We think it might be a good proposition, but you will be the judges of that.

If I play ranked, will the game in the beta count for my gp?

The ranked game in the beta version will not affect your gp in the live version!

Will I be able to share my gameplay with videos and stream?

The concept and gameplay you will see are not final and can be subject to change. For that reason, we do not authorize the recording and streaming of the content inside the beta.

Thank you already for your interest in the game and its development. We are glad to have a community that shares enough feedback for us to make the game evolve in such a way.

Once again this year, the draugar make a terrible comeback in this season of fear and terror! Will you be able to triumph in Draugrheim? Will the southern kingdoms be able to face this unknown threat?

Here is all you need to know about the event.

[h2]TEMPORARY GAME MODE[/h2]
Starting now and for the rest of the month, we welcome you back to our spooky special event where you will be able to engage in battle in the terrifying Draugrheim biome.

In this temporary game mode, you will have to conquer your fears in the land of the living dead and face some terrible (eight-legged) creatures roaming the land of Northgard."

If you feel like some of these new creatures have more legs than you can tolerate, you can activate an arachnophobia mode in the options menu.

[h2]NEW TEMPORARY TOWN HALL SKIN[/h2]

Finish a game of Northgard in the new Draugrheim game mode (if you dare) and earn an exclusive Town Hall skin. You can claim it in Expeditions



This year, the southern kingdoms will also have to face the danger of Draugrheim! You will be able to claim their sinister town hall as well!

Rat and Eagle now have 3 new conquests each for you to enjoy!



[h3]Diplomacy rework[/h3]

Say goodbye to your emissaries, with the scout now taking up their duties.
This new system is inspired by the one in place with the neutral factions and will help you engage in more organic exchanges with your friends and foes.

Working on your friendship might even give some interesting bonuses to both parties…


[h3]A fresh look for Northgard [/h3]

With our warchiefs already having gotten a new look, it’s now time for the rest of Northgards inhabitants to follow. But words can only express so much, we’ll let the pictures do the talking from here:


All biomes have been reworked to have a more unique aspects and environments


Yggdrasil alongside other elements have now been totally revamped!


All the familiar faces are now more detailed than ever before


Other changes include reworked units animations,new dynamic grass, and a rework of the terrain blending! You will be able to deactivate those if your PC doesn't meet the requirements for this setting.

[h3]Kingdom military upgrades revamped[/h3]

Following their adventures during the Cross of Vidar Campaign, the Southern Kingdom were inspired by Viking blacksmiths. Now your Lion and Stoat smithies will forge upgrades for their military units.

The smithy make the upgrade and you can assign it to one of your military buildings
