We’ve just pushed a small updates improving some of the things in the game.

• “-arcade” mode command line argument added
  

We are currently working on 1.1 patch that will improve tutorials and sailing instructions, so that VR Regatta is even better for non-sailors. Please make sure to let us know if you have ideas for improvements or if you notice any bugs.

Great news, virtual sailing fans!

After more than a year in early access, VR Regatta: The Sailing Game officially launches today. Get that champagne bottle ready to smash on the bow* because this baby is seaworthy!



We’ve had a great time consulting with our faithful early adopters, implementing their feedback and adding in new features. The official version 1.0 release that has launched on Steam today had a bunch of cool new features. These include a new boat, a cute-and-simple Opti that brings the total in-game boats to three, and a whole new area to explore, the scorching hot equatorial region The Windy Islands.





If you’ve already bought VR Regatta then all of this is already yours—just update your game to the latest version and you’ll be good to go. If you’ve been waiting for the official release before getting on board, then we have some excellent news: during the launch week, we’ll be offering a 15% discount! Instead of US$14.99, you can grab the game for just US$12.74.

Hello fans of virtual sailing!

VR Regatta has been on a long journey, but we have a big milestone coming up that we’re really excited to tell you about. The game’s early access period is about to come to an end, and we are about to officially release version 1.0 of VR Regatta: The Sailing Game!

As early access players, you’ve been with us from the start. We can never thank you enough for your patience, enthusiasm, and feedback, and this game could never have been as good as it is without your help. As such, we wanted you to be among the first in the world to get this news. (We haven’t even told the press yet!).



So, when is this auspicious date? On January 30th for players on the eastern side of Atlantic, or January 31st on the western side, v1.0 of VR Regatta will be released and all you early access players will be able to update your copies. (It’s a simultaneous worldwide release, so the date differences are just because of time zones!)

But that’s not all! No, we’re not giving you any steak knives, but v1.0 will add a wealth of new content, including a new training sailboat for beginners and veterans to enjoy, plus a whole new location to explore. This new area is still mostly under wraps, but we will say that it is in a completely different part of the world from Akalana, with a much hotter climate and a different sailing conditions. We call it The Windy Islands...



This is not the end of the road for VR Regatta by a long shot. It’s is a big milestone, certainly, but this is still a living game that we will continue working on well into the future. Thanks so much for sticking with us over the past year, and we hope you really love the new content!
