Update Details

• Fixed bug in the Incubation Room that sometimes made it impossible to advance.
  
• Fixed bug that inadvertently switched Aya's graphic when using the chainsaw.
  
• Some of Aya's images have been fixed.
  
• Fixed bug preventing re-entry to the Toilets after having picked up the key there.
  
• Fixed areas where the player-character would sometimes slip through the wall.
  
• Adjusted areas where progress would sometimes be impeded when Aya whispers hints.
  
• Optimized Backyard graphics.

• You will now be able to fix the error caused by the original version system files from within the game.
  
• Fixed the bug where you can pick up a gem that you have already picked up.
  
• Fixed the issue preventing story progression if you had more than 20 gems.
  
• Fixed an issue during the Alraune event that prevented progression.

The purpose of this post is to explain the cause and how to fix the start up error that began occurring when the update was released.

[h3]Cause[/h3]
Due to the original version and remake version sharing the same save/load system file destination “Save/System.sav” there was an issue occurring where the game would try to load the original version System.sav causing an error to pop up.

[h3]Prevention[/h3]
Moving the entire Save folder or deleting it will prevent the error from occurring. If you require the files, please do not forget to back them up first.

[h3]How to find Save folder[/h3]
Right click Mad Father in Steam>Properties>Local Files. This should bring up the folder in question.

Dear fans,

We have added an option that allows you to play the Original Version (pre remake) of Mad Father on startup. When you click play on Mad Father in Steam you should see a dialog option for “Play Original Version”.
