The Precinct is Moving to 2025
We have made the difficult decision to move The Precinct’s release to the first half of 2025.
We know that this will come as disappointing news to our fans and we’re very sorry about any upset that this may cause, but we haven’t made this decision lightly and we’d like to explain our reasoning behind it.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/490110/The_Precinct/

At Fallen Tree Games, we are a core team of just 5 people, so we do not have the same resources as the large triple A studios that make similar sandbox-style games. We have been working tirelessly at the moment to add polish to the final game and implement bug fixes so that we could try to hit our 2024 release, which is why we’ve waited until so late in the year to put out this announcement. Even with all 5 of us working as hard and as fast as we can, we do not believe we will be able to deliver the game we want to by the end of this year. In short, the game we could deliver this year is not the game we believe you deserve.

During Steam Next Fest, we received an enormous amount of attention and over 300,000 people played our demo in just one week. We read through over 1,300 demo reviews, along with more than 700 comments in our Discord and across social media. We can’t thank everyone enough for taking the time to play our demo, give your feedback on it, and leave such positive comments in your demo reviews, in our Discord, and on social media. It definitely lifted our spirits and showed us that we’re heading in the right direction!

We have not announced an official release date for 2025 yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we have a new date confirmed.

We want to emphasise how thankful we are for your positive feedback and overwhelming enthusiasm for our game. Your love for and enjoyment of The Precinct has kept us going during long working days and hours upon hours of bug fixing. We really appreciate you taking the time to read our announcement in its entirety and we hope you can be patient with us as we continue to create a game that we think you will love.

We've Released a Small Patch for Our Demo [Build No. 12729]

First of all, we'd like to say thank you so much to all of you who have taken the time to play our new demo!

We've really appreciated all of your kind words, feedback, and continuing enthusiasm for The Precinct. Thanks to your bug reports and feedback, we've been able to implement a few small fixes and quality of life changes to our demo.

Here are the patch notes for the demo update [build number 12729]:

 • Fixes for Ultrawide resolutions for handbook & callout complete panel
 • Fix for PS4 controller allowing accelerate/brake on stick
 • Fix for some high end PCs defaulting to Low Quality
 • Fix for FPS cap behaviour when the game is paused and Vsync is disabled
 • Split Vsync and FPS cap options in graphics menu
 • Hard coded default quality presets for popular graphics cards
 • Adjusted void used in interiors
 • Removed some world chunks of west island from the build (so some sneaky "hackers" can no longer access the whole map)

If you haven't done it already already, we'd really appreciate it if you could leave a review for our demo store page (shown below), post any bugs you've found in the Steam Forum or our Discord, and let us know your honest feedback.

All of this will go towards helping us improve the final game!
