The Precinct is Steam Deck Verified

We’re thrilled to announce that The Precinct is now officially Steam Deck Verified, which means you can fight crime on the go!

But what does being Steam Deck Verified mean?

When a game is submitted for testing on the Steam Deck, it can be assigned one of three different badges depending on how it performs. The Unsupported badge means that the game does not run properly on the Steam Deck and the Playable badge means that the game can be played on the Steam Deck, but the player may need to make some manual adjustments to the game for it to function correctly.

The Verified badge is only awarded to games that operate well on the Steam Deck without the need for the player to make manual adjustments and don’t present any significant problems when it comes to installation, performance, controls, and display.

After a lot of hard work from the team, we’re so proud to have achieved Steam Deck Verified status for The Precinct less than one week from launch!

Hotfix for Minor Bugs

[h3]The Averno City pest control are on the case, even the weekend![/h3]

The latest hotfix will mean that The Precinct is now updated to Build 1.4.18262.

Here's a list of all of the fixes included in this update:

Implemented a potential fix for the issue that was causing some players to lose their saves. We would still recommend backing up your saves though for now, as we're still investigating this issue. You can find your save file by following the path \AppData\LocalLow\Fallen Tree Games Ltd\The Precinct\Backup the SaveGame_Steam folder.
Fixed certain audio issues.

As we mentioned in our previous hotfix announcement, another update containing a lot more bug fixes is currently planned for release next week, although this may be subject to change depending on the results of QA testing.

Ох уж эта атмосфера из фильмов про копов 80-х годов прошлого века! Все как на подбор: продажные полицейские, банды, погрязший в преступности мрачный город, обоссанные подворотни и воздух, в котором витает амбре дешевых забегаловок, сигаретного дыма и мокрого асфальта. У зрителей создается полное ощущение того, что у всего этого действительно есть свой запах, звук и всепоглощающая атмосфера безмятежности, контрастирующая с происходящим на улицах безумием, вызванным свободой и чувством вседозволенности.

The Precinct review

I've arrested someone who did not deserve it. The chump was carrying counterfeit jewellry and I lazily slapped on the cuffs without reading my police handbook. I'm about to get that book thrown at me. When I sit at my desk at the end of a shift in cop sim The Precinct, I will get a chunk of XP deducted from my earnings for detaining this dude for a minor infraction. When The Precinct's action ramps up and it transforms into a top-down blaster, it becomes ponderous and clunky, but its quieter moments of police pretending encourage a strict dedication to the role of petty rules enforcer. It's a game of quibbles and quirks, imperfect in many ways, but there's a sense of commitment underneath it all that I can respect. Even if I don't respect the badge itself.

Fixed issue where camera might continue turning if you changed the mouse smoothing option from on to off.
The mouse smoothing option now affects vehicles as well as character movement/walking. It is automatically disabled but can be enabled in the options menu.
Fixed the issue where the Warehouse 6 objective location wouldn't trigger properly if you were driving a 4x4 police van
Fixed multiple reported crashes
