Heavy Artillery Medicine

Welcome back to Galacticare Wednesday

This week it’s all about a completely, most definitely, non-threatening treatment room. Projectile Medicine is a contraption that looks similar to a giant rocket launcher, it fires similar to one too.

Using Projectile Medicine, a qualified doctor would reload the device using the right medication for the patient’s condition. The rotating capsule rig (kinda like a revolver) which extends underground, will rotate until the correct capsule is in the cannon, and then load it.

The device comes with a very comfortable seat for the doctor to be lifted up into the air with the control screen rotated in front of them. Once the capsule rig is loaded to the correct medicine, the stasis pad will lift the patient and position them directly in front of the cannon.

The doctor can then blast the patient with the full force of Projectile Medicine.

Different conditions require different capsule ammunition. The cannon can be loaded with either of these capsules to treat the patient depending on their condition:

- Electric Gun
- Ice Gun
- Bullet Gun
- Fire Gun

If you enjoyed this little exploration into Projectile Medicine, there’s plenty more details in our Condition Research Journals, which can be found on our Discord

Lounging Around

Welcome back to Galacticare Wednesday

This week we're taking a look at a couple rooms that are specifically made for lounging around. There are 2 rooms we'll be covering, one for staff and one for patients.

Firstly, the staff lounge serves as... a lounge area for staff. When your doctors need a bit of break time, the staff lounge is the perfect place for them to sit for a short while.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Building the staff lounge can sometimes prove a tricky task, amongst having to build all the other treatment rooms, the staff lounge can often be an afterthought which leaves you with a limited amount of space.

Building a large enough staff lounge means you can fully decorate it with a firepit, a sofa and an armchair. But if you wanted to go the extra mile for your staff you could make it even roomier to fit in all sorts of fun decor.

The next lounge area is the Recovery Ward. This serves as a place for dangerously sick patients to rest be healed by the amazing galactic class technology built-in to each bed.

Here's a few WIPs of the recovery beds in action.

Would love to hear some of your thoughts on both of these rooms as well as the animations/narrative that go with them. We're active in our Discord so feel free to let us know in there!

The Dreamarium

Welcome back to Galacticare Wednesday

This week we wanted to officially introduce the Dreamarium, a treatment designed to rearrange what goes on inside a patients head.

This quick introduction video will let you in on the basics of how this treatment works:
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Description
The Dreamarium creature stays idle on it's platform with 2 beds on either side of it. One bed for the doctor and the other for the patient.

In front of the creature is a pad for where the creature projects images of the patient's subconscious.
Treatment Process
Phase 1 - The beds position the doctor and patient next to the creature, ready for treatment.

Phase 2 - The creature acts as a bridge between the minds of the doctor and patient, allowing the doctor to cure the patient.

Images of the patient's mind can be seen projected onto the pad throughout.

The Dreamium is also the perfect place for some of our favourite brain related props in the game:

Brain food (Left) - Brain Wash (Right)

And that’s all for this week, not much longer until you can build & run your own Dreamarium! A lot of questions have come up about release dates and what we can say is the wait won’t be much longer now - the entire team is in full focus mode to get the game ready so you may notice us going a little quieter during this period.

For now, Galacticare Wednesdays & Condition Treatment Journals will be coming out once every 2 weeks so we can prioritise on the game while also making sure you all have a little bit of content to enjoy in the meantime!

We'll be keeping you updated all through our TikTok, Twitter, and Discord.

Quick Development Update
Welcome back to Galacticare Wednesday
We've been getting a lot of questions about a release date and while there isn't currently an official date set, we wanted to give you an idea of where we're at now.

So here's a quick list of a few things that we've been focusing on recently:

- All VO is finished and in the game

Thanks to the amazing voice actors and writers, all VO is recorded and working beautifully in game.

- We've just updated all the skyboxes in the levels

You can find a few cheeky screenshots below.

- In terms of content complete on the levels themselves we've done all the environments with another pass on 3 to give it some more content

- Currently all but the final level have ambience audio when you zoom out of the maps

- We are currently working on 6 Sandbox levels to add to our existing 11 campaign maps

- We are currently doing a pass on prop, condition and research descriptions and just assessing them to make sure they fit with the tone of the game
- In terms of Art content we are currently compiling lists of additional props we want to make that we didnt think we would get a chance at doing! MORE FLOOR PROPS

If you have any questions for the team we're active in our Discord so feel free to ask away in there and we'll get back to you

Don’t forget we publish a new deep-dive blog post once a month, and more weekly explorations (including daily Condition Research Journals) across our TikTok, Twitter, and Discord.
