Update 2022.1: Patch 15

Dear skippers,

There is a new patch available for 2022.1. Changelog:

[h3]Localisation:[/h3]
- Portuguese localisation update by AlexShuma.
- Ukrainian localisation update by vovanvoks.
- Spanish localisation update by Tordo.
- Russian localisation update by Hard.
- German localisation update by Ruby.
- Polish localisation update.

[h3]Crew:[/h3]
- It's now possible to forbid automatic repairs of a certain device to conserve replacement parts.
- Fix: Sailors assigned to damage control were trying to inspect the galley, even if it was evacuated, if battery room no. 1 wasn't marked for evacuation.

[h3]User interface:[/h3]
- Added tooltips to quick order buttons under each compartment (evacuation, electricity toggle and water presence indicator).
- Expanded description of the emergency tank blowing order to explain how it's different from the non-emergency version.
- Added a possibility to rebind following keyboard shortcuts: horizontal and vertical rotation of periscope, switch periscope zoom factor, adjustment of a stadimeter angle, extending and lowering the periscope, horizontal/vertical alignment of the periscope and routine hydrophone check.
- Device icons are now much bigger in the u-boat upgrade mode activated from the warehouse.
- Changed design of warnings appearing under the telegraph in the UI to make them easier to read with bright backgrounds.
- Fix: Order icon displayed near the cursor is now refreshed after clicking to update to a new state.
- Fix: Labels near the outlines of detection range circles weren't present in some of the supported languages.
- Fix: Some elements of the interface weren't translated.

[h3]Graphics:[/h3]
- Added water inside buckets.
- Fix: Added hair adjustment models for the combat helmet. There is no longer clipping through the helmet present.
- Fix: Camera movements were affected by time compression scale during story sequences (merchant ship inspection etc.).
- Fix: Camera was behaving erratically during story sequences for a second after minimizing the game and then going back.
- Fix: Various elements of the map could flicker with certain combinations of screen resolution and temporal antialiasing settings.
- Fix (regression of 2022.1): Texture on the 43U gun was slightly broken.
- Fix (regression of 2022.1): Periscope and deck gun views were having an odd overlay, if screen aspect ratio was different than 16:9.
- Fix (regression of 2022.1 Patch 6): If player entered a patrol target area with a very closely zoomed in map, the entire screen could flash with a green colour for the duration of one frame.

[h3]Map:[/h3]
- Fix: It wasn't possible to zoom the map camera to the u-boat in some cases. The camera was pushed back.

[h3]HQ:[/h3]
- Fix: FAT and LUT torpedo research marker was slightly overlapping with the marker for conning tower research. This fix will work only for newly started campaigns.

[h3]Damage model:[/h3]
- Fix: Hatches damaged by pressing water sometimes weren't opening on their own due to an internal issue.
- Fix: Both hidden and identified flaws are now automatically repaired after docking at any port.

[h3]Missions:[/h3]
- Fix: Escorted convoy is no longer being tracked on the map in the escort duty assignment after completing the main objective.

[h3]Ships:[/h3]
- Type 1934 destroyers are now capable of fighting aircraft, also animations for the crew using AA guns on this destroyer are better.

[h3]Technical:[/h3]
- Pathfinding improvements on the map.

[h3]General:[/h3]
- Radio music is now restored back after a routine hydrophone check, if it's completed uninterrupted.
- Fix: Aircraft could spawn one inside another and behave erratically afterwards.
- Fix: A looped error was present in the log after reloading a saved game state near a full aircraft carrier and then provoking it to send the aircraft.

[h3]User interface:[/h3]
- Fix: Map view is now usually opened at the same place where it was left.
- Fix: Officers were displayed in an inverted order on the crew management screens than on the portraits.
- Fix: Added an information about gained reputation points after helping an ally in the side mission.

[h3]Missions:[/h3]
- Added an objective to return back to the port after failing an escort duty assignment.
- Fix: Convoy in the escort duty assignment is no longer stopping when it's under attack, unless it's very close to the destination.
- Fix: After successfully completing the side mission about helping an ally with some resource or about the lost u-boat, there was still a time limit displayed near the relevant objective in the assignment summary.
- Fix (regression of 2022.1 Patch 10): Escort duty assignment could, in some cases, not start after selecting it.

[h3]World simulation:[/h3]
- Slightly decreased frequency of miscellaneous communications from the other u-boats.
- Fix: Fixed an issue due to which u-boats attacking a convoy, could still behave like they would be fighting it, despite being tens of kilometres away when they couldn't continue to chase it for any reason.

[h3]Graphics:[/h3]
- Fix: Combat helmet was disappearing from the wearing character's head at certain camera viewing angles.

[h3]Ports:[/h3]
- Aesthetical fixes to Bergen, La Rochelle and Wilhelmshaven.
- Fix: Wilhelmshaven icon wasn't centred on the docking spot.

[h3]HQ:[/h3]
- Fix: Tasks with an early research penalty were taking twice more time to complete than it was stated in the UI before they were started.

[h3]AI:[/h3]
- Improved AI behaviour in tight spots in ports.
- Fix: Fixed another issue (possibly the last), due to which, a group of ships could circle around a single spot without any apparent reason.
- Fix: Groups of warships and u-boats could in rare cases try to get to their destinations by moving through some land areas.

[h3]Crew:[/h3]
- Fix: Knocking out a panicking sailor is now 2x faster than it used to be to make it noticeably faster than calming him down.
- Fix: After leaving the port after vacation, docking back and spending some time in the port, the docked time was counted towards a crew fatigue penalty.

[h3]Technical:[/h3]
- Fix: In some cases near ports, automated pathfinding was finding routes that were crossing various obstacles.

[h3]Map:[/h3]
- Fix: If unit was no longer detected and then it was observed again in a specific time window afterwards, it could permanently reappear on the map as neutral having a gray symbol.

Update 2022.1: Patch 13

Dear skippers,

There is a new patch available for 2022.1. It fixes some of the most common issues reported so far. Changelog:

[h3]Localisation:[/h3]

- Fix: Resolved one issue, due to which NPC ships could circle around one spot rather than move forward.

[h3]Graphics:[/h3]
- Improved shadow quality on ships observed through a periscope.

[h3]User interface:[/h3]
- Changed the appearance of a convoy route in the escort duty assignment.
- Fix: A notification appearing after completing the fuel conservation task in HQ wasn't translated into the local language.
- Fix: Removed a warning about early research from a completed task summary in HQ.
- Fix: Sunk tonnage is no longer displayed on the assignment summary screen, when it equals to zero.
- Fix: After selecting an assignment linked to Norwegian Campaign objective on the assignment selection screen, rewards for the last stage of this campaign objective were displayed in the UI even when player was still on the first stage.

[h3]Ports:[/h3]
- Aesthetical and technical fixes to Helgoland.

[h3]Crew:[/h3]
- Fix: Officer that was repairing the UZO could sometimes do that standing behind the conning tower wall. This fix will work only for newly started campaigns.
- Fix: Resolved various issues with NPC characters, especially those that evacuated onto lifeboats. Among the fixed issues, there could be a wrong number of survivors displayed on the lifeboat or they could all sit in one spot.

[h3]World simulation:[/h3]
- Fix: Town-class destroyers now appear in the Royal Navy in second half of 1940 rather than right after start of the war.
- Fix (regression of 2022.1 Patch 12): Player's u-boat could be constantly moved back while trying to leave Bergen using one of the routes out of fjords.

[h3]Interactions:[/h3]
- Received reputation reward is now mentioned in the text after sharing supplies with survivors on a lifeboat.
- Fix: Survivors from a sunk ship no longer thank for the supplies, even when they haven't received any.

[h3]Missions:[/h3]
- Improved behaviour of patrols appearing in the weather station placement assignment and also slightly in the minelaying assignment. The patrols appearing while placing a weather station in North Labrador are now Canadian instead of British.

[h3]Audio:[/h3]
- Fix: After loading a saved game state, sound effect of the sea was twice as loud for a few minutes and was also audible on the map.
- Fix (regression of 2022.1): Tension music was no longer played, while sneaking with enemies nearby.

Update 2022.1: Patch 12

Dear skippers,

There is a new patch available for 2022.1. It fixes some of the most common issues reported so far. Changelog:

[h3]Localisation:[/h3]
- Portuguese localisation update by AlexShuma.

[h3]World simulation:[/h3]
- Fix: Fixed an issue due to which ships could be loaded close to the player's u-boat, rather than beyond the sight range.
- Fix: Ships could spawn on land, if their group was moving close to the coast. This issue could also sometimes affect Royal Oak in Scapa Flow assignment.
- Fix: In rare case, warships could start to follow player for a very long time on the map, even though they didn't had the means to detect him anymore.

[h3]Ports:[/h3]
- Fix: Disappearing objects in La Rochelle submarine pens with certain positions of camera.
- Aesthetical fixes to La Rochelle, La Spezia, Vigo, Bergen and Wilhelmshaven.

[h3]Crew:[/h3]
- When officers end their schedule and free sailors, an attempt is now made to assign those sailors to other officers that continue to work.
- Torpedo maintenace is now twice as fatiguing to do.

[h3]User interface:[/h3]
- Fix: Officer selection panel could appear on the screen after leaving manual mode of some devices, even though the officer wasn't selected.
- Fix: The sound effect played after selecting an officer was often also played when views were switched, which wasn't intended.
- Fix: Pressing escape wasn't closing campaign objective details screen.
- Fix: Radio messages encoded with foreign ciphers like Typex were appearing in their decoded form when they were opened using the radio manual mode view, despite that they weren't readable in the journal.

[h3]Graphics:[/h3]
- Fix: Ship name wasn't readable on C3 merchant ships.
- Fix: Sailor could appear in lying position for some time when he was selected for an external mission.

[h3]Missions:[/h3]
- Fix (regression of 2022.1 Patch 11): Tutorial #2 wasn't progressing after plotting a return route to the port at the end of the mission.

[h3]Technical:[/h3]
- Important fixes and improvements to pathfinding on the map.
