Houdini 18 Released!

SideFX is pleased to announce the release of Houdini 18. This release introduces SideFX Solaris, a USD-based context for lookdev, layout and lighting that brings procedural tools to this important part of the pipeline and SideFX Karma Render (beta), a new HYDRA-based renderer that integrates into the Solaris environment. This release also includes SOP-based tools for configuring Destruction and Pyro FX shots and a focus on UX and optimization throughout the software.

Houdini Indie 18 is available today (Nov 27) on Steam. Steam users can update Houdini Indie from their Steam Library and use Houdini 18 now.

The Houdini Indie production build on Steam has been updated to version 17.5.425.

You can access different Houdini Indie production builds and daily builds on Steam by following these steps:

-Right click on Houdini Indie in your Steam library
-Select Properties
-Select the Betas tab
-Choose the Houdini daily build or production build you want to use from the betas list. (Select "None - Opt out of all beta programs" to use the most current production build)

With the release of Houdini 17.5.391 Houdini Indie 1-year and 2-year subscriptions are now available to Mac users on Steam.
