Update 49 - Quad RPG Tank, Dual 20mm Cruiser, Optimizations

Update 49 is a smaller maintenance update that focuses on low key improvements like optimization, bug fixes, balance, and other incremental changes. For a more information about this update and the state of development check out the latest Devblog. If you are enjoying these updates, please take the time to leave us a review. Thanks!

New Tanks

There are two new tanks coming to the late Tech Tree. They are based on the new tank chassis introduced in Entrenched last fall.

This evolution of the “Bardiche” is fitted quad-mounted RPG launchers paired with a high-velocity 12.7mm cannon. The “Ranseur” indicates progress in Kraunian design as they continue to leverage outdated equipment to create deadly, modern armour.
Warden Dual 20mm Cruiser Tank
Colm Gallagher’s engineers designed a variation of the Outlaw that features an independently rotating MG turret sitting atop the main armament of twin anti-tank cannons. What it lacks in raw firepower compared to its older sibling, the Highwayman more than makes up for it with versatility.

Vehicle Physics

Many improvements and optimizations have been made to vehicle physics. This includes more accurate collision and suspension modelling and overall more stable movement when driving over trenches or rough terrain. There is still room for further improvements in the future, but the changes here should provide a noticeably better driving experience.

Client Optimization

Several optimizations have been made to the client, which should result in an overall smoother gameplay across the board. The most significant improvements have been made around loading in large Bunkers and interacting with large Squad lists. There should be less hitches and improved FPS in these two areas of the user experience.

Other Changes

There are plenty of other low key changes in this update, including:

 • More flexibility around demolishing structures
 • More flexibility around Squad permissions
 • More text localized
 • Game balance pass
 • Lots of bug fixes

Update 48 - New Uniforms, Grenade Launchers, and Quality of Life

If you are enjoying these updates, please take the time to leave us a review. Thanks!

New Uniforms
Velian Flak Vest
A heavily reinforced vest designed to protect grenadiers from shrapnel back blasts. As such, the Flak Vest reduces cuts and scrapes on top of dampening bullet impacts.
Gunner’s Breastplate
Repurposed from ancient wars, these armour plates are highly effective at stopping enemy small arms fire. That protection comes at the cost of weight, and the wearer will feel quite restricted and encumbered.
Officialis’ Attire
This uniform can only be worn by officers of a Regiment. Allows the wearer to discipline their own Regiment members without friendly fire penalties.
Officer’s Regalia
The Warden's version of the officer's uniform.

Grenade Launchers
KLG901-2 Lunaire F
A weapon designed to launch specialty grenades over long-distances. This modern Kraunian firearm uses advanced propulsion designed for increased efficiency due to the overall weight of the weapon and projectiles.
The Ospreay
A rifle attachment that fires grenades with pneumatic force. Along with specialized grenades, it can launch standard grenades.

Quailty of Life

This update adds dozens of quality of life and other "low key" improvements. A few of them are listed below but there are many more.
Logistics Improvements
Many improvements have been made to logistics, including the addition of new production queues, new map tooltips, stockpile changes, and more. For full rundown of logistics improvements, watch our latest devstream.
Crane Rotation
Crane payloads can now be rotated using the 'A' and 'D' keys.
Dynamic Wall Scaling
Walls can now be dynamically scaled just like Sandbags and Trenches can.
New Heavy Weapons Animations
Several visuals have been updated in the game, including the heavy weapon equip animation which feels much less sluggish.
Seat Selection Menu
Players can now directly select which vehicle seat they want to enter by pressing Shift-Q. This menu also shows which existing seats are occupied.
Stockpile Retrieval Cancellation
Players will no longer be "stuck" when retrieving from the stockpile since the action can now be cancelled by movement.

Foxhole logistics players going on strike, demanding improvements

A group of Foxhole players are going on strike to pressure the developers into address issues they feel ruin their chosen role in the war, logistics. The World War 2 sandbox MMO is a persistent battle where weapons, vehicle, and building rely on resources gathered, processed, and delivered by other players, without whom the war machine slows down. Our boy Brendy called logistics "the real heroes" when he rode with them a few years back. But many are unhappy with the current state of their role, so they've formed a union.

Logistics players in MMO wargame Foxhole 'go on strike'

The wise general knows that wars are not won on the battlefield, but that supply and planning truly make the difference. The hyper-granular realism of counting every bullet and ration favored by old wargames usually doesn't find its way to videogames; it's typically much more fun to zoom around Mars at 60mph vaporizing cacodemons with both barrels than to try and keep your battalions well-stocked through a winter march...

Update 47 - Field Bridges, Modular Half-Tracks, Tripod Weapons, and More!

If you are enjoying these updates, please take the time to leave us a review. Thanks!

Field Bridges

Combat Engineers can now use Metal Beams to build Field Bridges. Field Bridges are used to allow infantry and logistics operations to cross difficult terrain. They can be built over water, destroyed bridges, small valleys, and other areas.

Field Bridges are provisional and must be replaced over time. Armoured and other heavy vehicles are unable to cross Field Bridges without them taking significant damage. The only exception are Armoured Car class vehicles, which can effectively cross bridges, giving them a unique role on the battlefield.

Modular Half-Tracks

The base Half-Track has been redesigned into a modular vehicle. It now has a universal mount that can be refitted with any Tripod weapon, transforming the Half-Track's role while on the field.

The new Half-Track rear has also been redesigned, giving it an additional role as an infantry carrier. It can now hold up to 4 passengers in the rear, in addition to the gunner and front seats on the vehicle.

New Tripod Weapons

To compliment the new Modular Half-Tracks, four new Tripod weapons are being introduced, including new machine guns, a mounted AT Rifle, and a dual barreled RPG.

Cinematic Camera

In Update 46 the Tactical Camera was introduced to Foxhole, giving players greater visibility on the battlefield. In this update, we're introducing the Cinematic Camera, which gives the players a cinematic view of the action, enabling them to create even better community content like screenshots and videos.

No Man's Land Improvements

In Foxhole, the landscape can be dynamically altered over time if it's been shelled by artillery for long enough. Some improvements were made to the visuals and gameplay for these areas. Most significantly, the Trench husks have been completely redesigned to provide cover and with higher visual fidelity.

O’Brien V.113 Gravekeeper

A slight variation of the V.110, the Gravekeeper comes fitted with an embedded Bonesaw launcher, transforming the humble armoured car into an effective indirect anti-armour vehicle.

T8 “Gemini”

Fitted with twin RPG launchers, the T8 employs hit-and-run assaults against enemy structures and emplacements.
