Update rollback. EOS alternative. Development plans.

Hello friends!

We would like to be honest with you and want to admit that this update failed to meet our expectations or those of the audience. We are also very saddened by this reaction to the EOS integration and unfortunately have to go back to version 4 to make a new system that you will love.

We respect you and appreciate the time you have spent with us. We recognize the issues with optimization and that we chose the wrong system for the backend, so we are looking for an alternative. Accordingly, we have to postpone the update with the new map, which has been completed and waiting for you for a while now.

We are very sorry and will try to find such a system as soon as possible and fix all critical flaws.

Much love and sad hugs to you,
Your CyberLight GS

Epic Acounts explained: real account VS proxy account, account linking process

Dear hunters!

After the 5.0 update, we received negative feedback from some players who don't want to register an Epic Games account. And others don't understand why it's necessary. We want to make it clear.
Why we needed Epic Games accounts:
As we are a small indie studio consisting of 2 developers, one of the important tasks is to increase our audience and show BIGFOOT to more people, to adapt it to new platforms. This is a very challenging task considering our resources. Adapting a game for a new shop takes us about 6 months of daily work.

Epic Games' EOS system was the optimal solution to ensure that all online functions work regardless of the platform. It provides cross-platform lobbies, voice chat, achievements, gameplay saving. Plus it's already available by default on our engine, freeing us up more time to focus on new content that players are really looking forward to.
How epic account linking works:
Account linking only needs to be done 1 time when starting the game, thereafter login will be automatic.

 • Players who already have an Epic account can link their Steam and Epic accounts in 2 clicks at the first game launch.
 • Players who don't want to register an account can use a proxy account by clicking "Create Account".
What is a proxy account:
What is meant by "Create Account" in this case is not the creation of a "real" account, but a proxy account that does not require any information from you other than your date of birth and consent to EG and Steam proxy account linking.
The proxy account does not require any personal information such as name, email address. Also, the game does not require EGS Launcher to be installed on the user's PC.

The proxy account is exactly designed to allow players to play without registering a real account, but at the same time, the proxy allows the system to manage lobby creation and other online features for all players.

Registering a proxy account takes a couple of minutes right in the game and only needs to be done once.

We look forward to your understanding.

Kind regards,
CyberLight team
