Dying Light 2 co-op - how to play on Steam and Epic Game Store

Want to play Dying Light 2 co-op with your friends? The latest survival horror game from Techland gives players the option to play almost the entire campaign with a few of their mates. Soon, you and up to three of your buddies can leap across the streets of Villedor, salvaging Dying Light 2 inhibitors to upgrade your stats.

There is no crossplay across hardware platforms, so you won't be able to play Dying Light 2 co-op on a PC with either PlayStation or Xbox players. Thankfully, you can play with friends across Steam and Epic Game Store, and it works great. It doesn't matter if the Steam or Epic Game Store user hosts the game. In our tests, it works well either way.

Unfortunately, this is a tiny bit more complicated than you'd anticipate. For starters, you need to play through the game up until a certain point in the main campaign, which will take you at least a few hours. After the game opens up, you can invite friends to join you, but it requires a bit of setup. Follow these steps to set up Dying Light 2 co-op, and soon you and your friends can hunt down valuable loot by cracking open caches using Dying Light 2 safe codes.

More Dying Light 2 fixes are coming this week

The fixes keep coming for new parkour 'em up Dying Light 2. The zombie game got a day one patch with more than 1,000 bug fixes, and more are on the way this week. Not quite 1,000, though they should prove handy nonetheless.

The upcoming PC patch includes fixes for game-crashing bugs, various situations that could cause infinite black screens, AI dead body replication in co-op, and an issue where you couldn't sell your goodies to a vendor. You're also getting some DLSS improvements, which is neat. Techland has an eye to the future, too. The devs are working on a fix for an issue that sends players into a death loop, various story blocks, and visual bugs that are sometimes visible in the 'Makers of the Plague' quest in the hospital. The team is also working on additional features like adding backup saves and exposing other video settings. There's even the possibility of enabling an English voiceover if the local language isn't English.

Techland hasn't given a date for the patch yet, though the devs say it'll be "in the coming days".

This Dying Light 2 mod make nights even more intense

While it's only been out a couple of days, the first Dying Light 2 mods have already begun to roll out - including the return of a fan-favourite Dying Light mod that ups the challenge considerably. The Dying Light 2 Extreme Nights mod is out now in version 2.0, and it makes the nights twice as long and many times more difficult. They were bad enough already.

Back in 2016, modder UD24 added a new mod called Extreme Nights to Dying Light, which they introduced with the phrase, "'sup, wanna die?" For those not in the know, nighttime in Dying Light is basically a survival situation where the zombies become more numerous and more powerful. Extreme Nights made things even more, well, extreme by increasing the length of the night and both the number and toughness of the zombies.

"You will either succeed in stealth (maybe hiding in a room with the door closed), or you will be spotted and things will start to snowball very very VERY fast," UD24 explained. Now, the mod is back for Dying Light 2, and it sounds even more impossible.
