Dying Light 2: Reloaded Edition News

Dying Light 2 photo mode arrives with a new free DLC chapter

The parkour-flavoured zombie game Dying Light 2 gets its long-awaited (and much-requested) photo mode this week. Dying Light 2 update 1.4 adds photo mode, which will allow you to line up your own action-packed screenshots, but it also brings with it Dying Light 2's first piece of free narrative DLC. The update rolls out June 14.

'In the Footsteps of a Nightrunner' links you up with Harper, a former nightrunner who wants your help to take out some special infected that are threatening the people of the city. As you complete missions from Harper, you'll earn reputation points that unlock powerful new weapons, consumables, and outfits. You can find Harper hanging out at the Fish Eye Canteen.

Dying Light 2's photo mode has the usual suite of options: you can freely move the camera around your character, and adjust the zoom, focus distance, and depth of field of the lens. There's also a selection of filters, styles, movie frames, and other ways to jazz up your final image before tapping F12.

Photo Mode
Due to popular demand, we’ve decided to implement a Photo Mode! This feature will be available in single-player game mode, and you will be able to launch it in most situations. Still, due to the complex parkour mechanics, it might be unavailable in some action sequences or poses.

Features:
  • Multiple camera manipulation options, including aperture, focus distance, zoom, and roll, will help you create dynamic screenshots.
  • Color adjustments such as temperature, exposure, saturation, contrast, and vignette, with the addition of filters, will make each photo just beaming with climate and style.
  • Special Effects will allow you to create unique sequences straight from the action movies.

Dying Light devs are making a "next-gen" fantasy RPG game

Dying Light 2 developer Techland has taken the always-puzzling step of announcing an 'unannounced' game. While the studio, which has made a name for itself producing open-world zombie games, isn't ready yet to talk about the story or even the title, it says it is working on a triple-A, open-world RPG game that it describes as a "fantasy epic," and it's recruited some top game development talent to help build it.

While story specifics are scarce at the moment, Techland has shared a first piece of concept art for the upcoming RPG game (above). A figure in traveler's robes stands in the foreground, gazing out over a confluence of two rivers that spill over waterfalls. Ancient ruins and statues are built on the banks, with a network of crumbling pillars and archways still standing in the turbulent water.

The scene appears to be set in a mountain jungle or rainforest setting, and the ruins appear to be influenced by ancient Roman and Aztec styles. In the distance, more structures can be seen. One of these has a green tiered roof, reminiscent of east Asian pagodas.
