Dying Light 2 is getting five years of DLC with "new stories and locations"

Dying Light 2 was announced nearly four years ago, so what's another half-decade of development, right? Ahead of the Dying Light 2 release date in February, the devs have already started to tease their post-launch plans, including "at least five years" of support with major new content throughout.

"We guarantee to expand the world of Dying Light 2: Stay Human for at least five years post launch with new stories, locations, in-game events, and all the fun stuff you love," the devs say in a tweet. The accompanying image also mentions a "world expansion" and "in-game items", though there's not yet any indication of how much of that stuff will be free or paid.

While it might seem a bit premature to announce all that support before the game's even out, the original Dying Light has set a pretty extreme precedent for post-launch support. It's still getting updates and new in-game events, including multiple major DLC expansions. The Following in particular is well-loved among the game's community.

Dying Light 2 co-op will let everyone vote on story choices

We've known for years that Dying Light 2 would feature co-op, and now, just a few weeks before the game's due to launch, the devs have finally shown off the feature in action. Dying Light 2 offers four-player cooperative play, as briefly demonstrated in the final devstream before release.

One player will serve as the host for the multiplayer session, and they'll keep any story progress made in co-op sessions. The devs have confirmed you'll be able to finish the game in multiplayer, too. Your friends will keep any items or character progression earned in co-op. When you come to a story choice, everyone can vote on what you should do - but the host has the final say on the decision.

Techland is also showing off an array of console comparisons here across current and last-gen platforms, and while that maybe isn't the most relevant to PC players, it at least offers an idea of what the game will look like on older hardware. The Dying Light 2 system requirements have been out there for a bit, if you're looking to see whether your PC is up to snuff.

It provides the players with more details and a greater insight into the world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human. The guest of this episode is Agata Sykuła, UI Producer at Techland, who tells us more about UI, HUD, the accessibility options and the overall user experience in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

This episode also highlights how important the community’s feedback is, and the great changes that can come about when players are able to adjust the HUD and other elements to increase their comfort when playing.
