Dying Light 2 patch fixes the death-loop bug, for real this time

There's a new Dying Light 2 patch out and it purports to fix the dreaded death-loop bug, stopping it from happening and hopefully fixing the instances where it's currently going on. The new fix for Techland's parkour zombie game is out now, and it even comes with a save rollback system.

While Dying Light 2 has undeniably been popular, since its launch earlier this month players have been complaining about the enormous number of bugs in the FPS game. Developer-publisher Techland has been rolling out fixes throughout February, but until now hasn't managed to sort out one of Dying Light 2's most frustrating bugs.

The death-loop bug happens when a player dies in a restricted area and respawns in another part of the map, but is too far to get back to the area before the time limit runs out - killing them and sending them to the respawn location again. Techland suggested it had fixed this campaign block issue last week, but many players reported that the bug was still affecting them.

Survivors!
The newest patch for PC is live. See the changes below:

  • Fix for the death-loop bug. It prevents players from new cases and fixes the existing ones.
  • Added Backup Save system that allows players to rollback the game progress and their inventory to the last game’s secure storyline save point.
  • Added support for the BLOCK, ACTIVE LANDING, and JUMP ATTACK rebindings on the keyboard.

Backup Save system is an in-game feature that allows you to load a save based on the previous main storyline progress. Doing a rollback will revert you to a state of the game from that Backup Save. You unlock new Backup Saves as you progress through the main storyline.

Dying Light 2 safe codes locations

Want to know what the Dying Light 2 safe codes are? The long-awaited sequel to the first-person parkour zombie game has tons of loot that you can find just about anywhere. Like in the first game, you can find plenty of useful items inside safes.

Safes can contain valuable items such as journals, quest items, medkits, and Dying Light 2 inhibitors that you can use to upgrade your abilities. Finding these safes and their combinations are just one of the many reasons the developers claimed in January that Dying Light 2 takes 500 hours to completely unlock.

So far, we know the locations and code combinations of seven safes hidden across the two regions. Rather than have you waste time hunting for clues in the safe room for each corresponding combination of numbers, we will list all Dying Light 2 safe codes below and inform you where you can find every safe in the game.
