KARDS - The WWII Card Game News

Over the next few days we will be airing the last stage of the 2019 KARDS World Championship again for those that weren’t a part of our amazing community in 2019. The World Championship is a multi stage tournament aimed at discovering the best KARDS players in the world. Watch as the top 4 KARDS players in 2019 battle it out for the first ever world championship.



Fenrir (China), Drogear (Sweden), Gearbot (Sweden) and GKZhukov (UK) display their immense skill and deck building prowess in high stakes KARDS action that gives an insight into the deck building and thought processes of the world’s best players. If you are new to KARDS and are looking to improve, make sure you tune in and learn from the best.

Tune in between the 22nd and 24th of May at 17:00 UTC for the Semi Finals and at 20:00 GMT for the Grand finals.

Note, that the game has changed significantly since the 2019 World Championship but the principles the players follow in building their decks still remain.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day which celebrates the acceptance of Nazi Germany’s unconditional surrender on Tuesday, 8 May 1945.

This release introduces optimizations of the KARDS client, bug fixes, and improvements to the localization of several cards in various languages. The release was published on May 7th.



[h2]Improvements[/h2]

• Various memory and loading time optimisations for the KARDS client.
  
• If a draft took a long time (40+ minutes) then players did time out and were thrown out of the client. Now the only timeout happens if a single pick takes such a long time.
  

[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2].

• Guards were in some rare cases guarding wrong cards. Fixed.
  
• DIVE BOMBING was still returning the attack and defense taken after the affected unit had been reset by leaving the board and entering again. Fixed.
  
• 85 PIONEER COMPANY was lowering the cost of the wrong player’s orders when spawned on its enemy’s turn. Fixed.
  
• The translation of various cards were either incorrect or not precise enough. Fixed.

The KARDS Relief Package and Charity was an initiative by 1939 Games and allowed you to support the fight against the current worldwide crisis while receiving the exclusive “Medic Corp” charity card back. This initiative started on March 20th and ended on May 4th.
