Hardcore Raids & Family Expansion - Patch notes

Hello everyone!

A new update has arrived which you’ve all been waiting so long far. We always try to make sure that we release each update to the highest possible quality, which is why it can sometimes take longer than you might prefer. In this update, we’re introducing hardcore versions of existing raids, an expansion to the family system, plus numerous other changes.

There are hardcore versions for the following raids:

Act 1–3 (champion level 30+)
Act 5 (champion level 50+)
Act 6 (champion level 65+)
Act 7 (champion level 80+)
Act 8 (champion level 80+)
Mother Cuby
Ibrahim
Zenas
Twisted Spirit King Kirollas
Zombie Dragon Valehir
Ginseng
Kertos the Demon Dog
Erenia
Twisted Beast King Carno
Ice Dragon Alzanor
Dark Castra
Valakus King of Fire
Demon God Belial
Weak Asgobas
Giant Black Spider
Fire God Grenigas
Evil Overlord Paimon
Massive Slade
Lord Draco
Revenant Paimon
Glacerus the Ice Cold

Event raids and other temporary raids are not factored into this change, as this would mean players have fewer opportunities to collect the rewards from the current reward system. Similarly, the raids from Act 9 are not in the list as we feel that they are still new enough and do not need a special hardcore version. We may introduce these at a later juncture.

These raids have been chosen so that players have the option of playing older content in a more updated form, and are no longer forced to focus on just 1 or 2 sets of raids.

As with every update, we endeavour to make the gaming experience the best it can possibly be, but we’re also reliant on your feedback. In this update, we’ve added a new feature which will allow us to change the strength of monsters in hardcore raids on the fly, so that we can guarantee a smoother experience for you.

This means that if certain monsters turn out to be too strong in a raid, we’ll be able to tweak their strength. We’ll take your feedback into account, as well as monitor players’ performance in the game, to make sure the raids remain both challenging and fair.

Hardcore Raids
  • You earn hardcore raid seals by completing the normal versions of the raids.
  • At the moment there are no restrictions for entering hardcore raids beyond the minimum champion level.
  • Hardcore raids can only be started with a complete team.
  • All hardcore raids have a daily limit.
  • The entry portals are the same as for the regular raids.
  • The raids in Acts 1–3 require champion level 30+, raids in Act 5 champion level 50+, raids in Act 6 champion level 65+, raids in Act 7 champion level 80+, and raids in Act 8 likewise champion level 80+.
  • Raid tokens open up a crafting window where you can craft rewards such as mini-pet versions of the raid bosses, resistances, act-specific materials and more. Mini-pets deal more damage in both the regular and hardcore versions of their raids.
  • In all the major towns like NosVille, Dragonveil and Undercity, there will be a Raid Token Manager who can craft certain items for you like passive medals, perfection stone bags and more.
  • The raid list will display the average champion level of the hardcore raid team.
  • You receive a notification when you’ve inflicted enough damage to receive the rewards.
The following things change in hardcore raids
  • Monsters are stronger, depending on the strength of the team.
  • There are 5/8/10 lives depending on the number of raid participants.
  • You only have one life in hardcore raids; if you die twice, you’ll be ejected from the raid.
  • Gold and reputation are awarded depending on the difficulty of the raid, with the gold added directly to your inventory.
  • An additional hardcore token is awarded upon completing a hardcore raid.
  • There is a greater chance to get raid boxes of rarity levels 7 and 8.
  • After completing a raid, the damage statistics of the top three players who inflicted the most damage to the boss will be displayed. The stats are currently only available in hardcore raids, but may be added to normal raids in the future.
  • You must deal a certain amount of damage to the raid boss in order to receive gold, reputation and the hardcore tokens. The raid box however is a guaranteed reward. Since it is more difficult for lower-level players to deal damage, the amount of damage they must inflict is lower than for higher-level players.
  • Raid boxes, special items like Alzanor’s Horn, and big item drops are the same as in normal raids.
Family Expansion
  • The family system has been expanded to level 30, bringing new rewards with each level.
  • There are new unique achievements awarding FXP and new passive buffs.
  • There are new daily missions relating to hardcore raids which award FXP.
  • The FXP requirements for levels 1–20 have been reduced by 20%.
Other Changes
  • The seals in Acts 1–3 can now be crafted without entering a Time-Space (as on NosFire).
  • The Ginseng Pot now takes percentage damage per hit.
  • Dark Castra now appears in the boss room without a delay.
  • The ‘Damage from critical hits is increased by 300%’ effect has been removed from Massive Slade.
  • The raid monster Slade now has magic defence.
  • The Protection Blessing buff from Ibrahim no longer applies.
  • There is a greater chance to get raid boxes of rarity levels 7 and 8 in Alzanor and Valehir.
  • The gold drops in the Alzanor and Valehir raids have been increased from 30x 40,000 Gold to 60x 30,000 Gold.
  • Several changes to the daily quests in Act 8 which provide more experience and act-related materials.
  • Several changes to the daily quests in Act 9.1 which provide more experience and act-related materials: https://nostale.comastuff.com/HCRaids_Act_8_+_9_Changes.pdf
  • Increased the chance of dropping Techron’s research books, Fairy Affinity (2), Mullan Tools and Polluted Lightning Conductors.
  • The number of items for the 17th anniversary have been reduced to 2, to save space in your inventory. As with other events, they now count as snacks and potions.
  • You can no longer fill your basic SP from the anniversary event.
  • Added a limit of 15,000 damage to the Sudden Twist buff.
  • The duration of Erenia’s Curse has been reduced from 60 to 15 seconds.
  • The Crusader Commander in Erenia’s raid now suffers percentage damage per hit.
  • The cooldown of Zenas’ healing and monster spawn skills has been increased.
  • Priestess Kelly of the Second Squad in Zenas’ raid now suffers percentage damage per hit.
  • The waiting time in Zenas’ raid has been reduced from 3 minutes to 1 minute.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue which could cause dance timers to be overwritten by others.
  • Fixed an issue where the mini-bosses in the Paimon raids wouldn’t spawn under certain circumstances.
