[h3]Become a Masterchef[/h3]
As a Chef, you first need to gather your materials, buy your spices, chop your ingredients, before you can set about cooking them. You’ll need certain skills for the various recipes which each have different preparation times.
In reward for your efforts, you can look forward to various titles to perfect your cooking skills with handy buffs. For especially tasty morsels you also stand a chance of picking up additional items.
[h3]À la carte[/h3]
When preparing your recipes, there are certain things you have to watch out for to make sure you pull them off:
- Some of the ingredients you collect cannot be cooked directly. You’ll need to chop them up with you skills first, either individually or multiple ingredients at once.
- Use recipes to prepare your chopped ingredients.
- Choose from three cooking methods: roast, simmer or stir fry.
- What you produce depends on your timing. Wait for the right moment to ‘Finish Cooking’. Keep your eyes on the dark steam rising from your meal to tell you it’s ready. If you finish too soon or too late, the meal will be ruined.
- Successfully cooking several meals will earn you cooking XP, a new higher-quality recipe, and you have a chance to get a Fortune Cake. Eat the Fortune Cake and you might get some handy items.
- If you mess up your cooking, you won’t receive these rewards.
[h3]Cooking Skills[/h3]
These are the skills at your disposal as a Chef:
- Basic Attack: You attack with your wok.
- Cooking Preparation: You prepare everything you need for cooking. → Earns you cooking XP.
- Chop Ingredients: You prepare your ingredients.
- Sharpen Knife: You sharpen your cooking knife. → Gives you the chance to generate additional chopped ingredients or meals.
- Roast: You prepare a roast meal.
- Simmer: You prepare a stew.
- Stir Fry: You prepare a difficult stir fry.
- Secret Spice: You add a little secret spice to your meal. → Helps to make successful meals.
- Healthy Eating: You try to cook the meal without using spices. → Provides a chance not to consume any spices at all.
- Finish Cooking: You stop cooking. → Timing is of the essence!
- Voilà!: You proudly present your meal.
[h3]Finest Ingredients[/h3]
Tasty Fruit and VegFor your recipes you need only the best ingredients, such as the big new tomatoes, onions, mangos and lettuces which can be collected in NosTale!
Sweet or SourIt takes the right combination of spices to turn a plain meal into a serious taste explosion. Chef Terry can provide you with fine spices such as garlic, chilli powder, cinnamon, and pepper. Meanwhile MSG can be looted by completing Act 7 raids.
[h2]For Gourmets[/h2]
Before trying your hand at the more exquisite meals, you need to set Chef as your character’s side job. The first choice of side job is free, but each subsequent change costs 1,000,000 Gold.
You can acquire and equip the specialist card irrespective of your side job. But you can only transform into a Chef once you have selected it as your side job with Terry.
As a Chef, you can earn cooking XP by cooking meals and preparing ingredients, increasing the level of your specialist card.
The cooking XP depends on the level of meals you prepare.
The maximum level for Chef is 50.
The Chef is a down-to-earth specialist whose sights are only set on fine cuisine, so you can’t equip them with wings.
