Warhammer: Vermintide 2 News

November 30th marks the release of our next game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, an intensely brutal cooperative game set in the Warhammer 40,000 world. This release will be the 3rd installment of “Tide” releases over the past 7 years and adds to the already critically acclaimed Vermintide series.

Throughout November, leading up to the release of Darktide, we'll host activities and updates to celebrate its launch. This includes a free copy of Vermintide 2*, a free update to Vermintide 2 (Trail of Treachery DLC), access to play Darktide early for pre-order players, and a free download of the Devoted Rejects DLC for all Vermintide 1 or 2 players who jump in and play Darktide.

[h2]Heroes, the most ill-omened night of the year is upon us![/h2]

Between October 26 - November 6, Geheimnisnacht returns to Vermintide 2 on all platforms. Remember to visit a ritual site, collect the Skull of Blosphoros, and survive the remainder of the mission(s) in order to earn new time-limited rewards.

All players playing during Geheimnisnacht will also earn Double XP!

Patch 4.7.3 released for PC earlier this week is a 'remaster' patch, which results in a larger download size (~43.1 GB) whilst ultimately saving around ~25 GB on disk after the update is complete



Disrupt the ritual and secure the Skull of Blosphoros for an extra challenge. Select your courier with caution as there is no second chance of picking up the Skull during that mission once it has been lost.


While traversing the Reikland, you might encounter Nurglings. They're known to cause mischief, giggle, and rarely come in small numbers. Hopefully, they scatter quickly!


During Geheimnisnacht you can earn new unique time-limited rewards by completing the themed quests. New weapon illusions and portrait frames are awaiting those brave enough to complete the challenge.

[h2]4.7.3 Patch Notes[/h2]

• Keybindings can now be bound to up to two different buttons. Keybindings can now be cleared by right-clicking them. A single key can now be bound to several actions (eg. R for reload and weapon special).
  
• Chaos Wastes mission modifiers should no longer display #NAME?.
  
• Fixed an issue causing bright light exposure when multiple mutators were active at once.
  
• Fixed a lighting issue that could occur when night mode or the darkness mutator was active.
  
• Fixed an issue where cosmetics would occasionally appear to be missing.
  
• Fixed an issue where Sienna's (Battle Wizard) 'Fire Trail' would deal more damage than intended
  
• Fixed various crashes.
  

The Onslaught Tournament Series hosted their first charity event in collaboration with Fatshark Games the past two weekends, and you all turned out in force to help the world's most endangered species suffering from fires, floods, deforestation, even poaching. Our first donation made during the event was for $4,279 and our second donation at $310, bringing it to a total of $4589! Both donation receipts can be found in this Steam post, below!

The Onslaught Tournament Series is back yet again!

As of August 14, 2022: Sign-up period has started and will last until 1st of September, 10 AM UTC for Tier 1/2 and until 8th of September, 10 AM UTC for Tier 3/4. Maps will be announced on the 20th of August and practice period starts for all tiers until their respective tournament days.

[h3]Charity: [/h3]
This season is going to double as a charity event, all donations are optional and all proceeds from the weekends will go to The International Fund for Animal Welfare. Fatshark as a studio is collaborating with the community in this event by offering the Crown of Purity hat as a reward for donating and/or playing; all participants and donators will be eligible to receive this cosmetic. The donation link and donation instructions are provided in the discord.

Fatshark will not be receiving any financial compensation from the donations, and donations are put 100% towards IFAW and are handled by the community. Please contact community hero Ishka for transparency documentation and final donation statements. The donation will completed live on stream September 11 at https://www.twitch.tv/fightthetide and an invoice statement will be posted in a Steam announcement following the tourney.

[h2]Fatshark will distribute cosmetics to participants and donors September 12th after the event ends. Fatshark will also need to receive your Steam ID in order to distribute the hat into your Vermintide 2 account. This information will be deleted September 15th in order to comply with GDPR.[/h2]

[h3]Format Changes:[/h3]
This time around, the format will be handled a bit differently and will have 4 Tiers of play and 2 full game weekends. C1 is back as Tier 1 and Dutch Spicy is now Tier 4. In addition to this, after receiving much feedback, the No Beastmen mod is going to be enabled/mandatory for this tournament. The Tourney Rebalance mod is still required for all participants. Fellow rat slayers! The VT Modded Community Disord is organising a tournament. Alongside Deathwish and Onslaught, this tournament will be played with Class Balance; a rebalance mod which brings extensive and fun changes to a lot of weapons, talents and careers in general.

This tournament will take place on August 13th and 14th and will feature the following difficulty tiers:

• Tier 2: Cata3 DWONS
• Tier 3: Cata3 DWONS+ (players can opt to upgrade maps to OnslaughtSquared to earn more points)
