Developer Update - April 17

Heroes!

Welcome to a relatively short Developer Update. We’ve been busy putting the Community Event live this week, where you've been tasked to slay 500,000,000 pactsworn over roughly 14 days. It’s a fairly big ask and so far you’re a little bit behind the curve! Step it up and earn a sweet portrait frame for everyone!

We put a great deal of science into coming up with the perfect number. We had to factor in telemetry from the past, as well as predictions based on the current situation and the days in which the event would be running. Take into account a great deal of factors, and then add a certain % on top to come up with the perfect goal of 500,000,000 in 14 days. We believe you can do it!

There are also some particular rules we didn’t fully explain in some of our earlier messages around this event!
 • Only Official Realm matches count. We aren’t counting player spawned units or runs completed on the modded realm.
 • Weaves count!
 • Only Wins count! That’s right, only matches that end in success will count towards the goal!

We just enabled the counter on the in-game loading screens for easy access, that updates less frequently than the website ( https://www.vermintide.com/counter ) but every five minutes or so!

That’s all for the event bits. Lastly this week we just want to showcase some of the cool stuff found in the community! Sadly most of it was pretty risque or a little too ‘cross-universe’, but then there was this, and we (and many) have just fallen in love.

You can catch him streaming now, it’s good vibes all round!

Now get killing pactsworn! Have a great weekend. Stay home, and stay safe.

Team Fatshark

Stay Home. Play Together. Heroes Unite

Heroes,

During the past weeks the Sharks have been working from home, and in an earlier Developer Update we went into lengths about what these changes meant for the Sharks and the entire office. Staying at home can be a challenge and the Sharks are helping each other with new ideas to stay inspired. This community event was born from such an idea, and we hope that you will join us in this new endeavour.

Stay Home. Play Together. Heroes Unite.

Together we can make a difference. Between the 15th and 30th of April we are inviting you to take part in a community challenge.
Buy a new Hat - Support Charity
All profits* made from ‘Crown of Purity’ will be donated to charity.

This premium cosmetic will be available for purchase in Lohner’s Emporium of Wonders and Steam, and all profits* made will be donated to charity responding to COVID-19.
"To the faithful there is naught more dangerous than an unguarded mind, save perhaps an uncaged thought. Alas, even the righteous cannot entirely control the sinful impulses of a wandering will, thus many Sigmarite preachers wear this singular piece of headgear, shackling with steel what mortal will cannot always cage."

You can find ‘The Crown of Purity’ here and it will be available for purchase from the 16th of April.
Fill the Counter - Unlock a New Frame
In tough times we need each other, and the Ubersreik 5 are no exception. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is ultimately a co-op game, designed to create situations only teamwork can solve, and with this challenge we wish to invite you as a community to come together and help the Reikland. Stay home. Play Together. Heroes Unite.

Fill the bar by defeating Skaven, Rotblood, and Beastmen in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and be rewarded with a new portrait frame †. To help you keep track we have set up a Kill Counter that is updated in near real-time. All platforms are included in the counter.

† The portrait frame will be added in the next update for all platforms.

Developer Update - April 10 - Double XP Active!

Heroes!

Welcome to another developer update.

It’s a short week this week and next, with folks enjoying time out of the ‘office’ to celebrate the season and taking a long weekend. Since we’re working from home, perhaps it just means switching Steam accounts and playing some new releases, or hanging out in the garden with a cold brew. Maybe building legos with the baby sharks (doo doo doo doo doo doo) or learning a new skill, like lock picking, or baking, or something in between. Whatever we’re up to, we hope you have a nice long weekend as well, doing whatever you put your minds to.
Double the XP, double the glory!
Right now, in Vermintide 2, we’ve got Double XP up and running again! This is a bonus weekend and will be running until Tuesday April the 14th. A great time to level your Krubers (seriously, why is he the least picked hero? Sort it out people! He’s a BATTERING RAM!).

Stay home. Stay safe. Level up!
Community Event
We wanted to announce a new community event this week, but due to the shorter week and some unprecedented hitches (largely due to partners and collaborators also feeling the pressures of ‘working from home’, we’re not quite in the spot we wanted to be in to make that a reality. We’re going to do all we can to get that up and running next week however, and will share more news with you when we’re ready to put that live.
Deathwing X Vermintide 2
Right now we’re coop-ing with Focus Home Interactive and anyone who owns Vermintide 2 can avail of a deep discount on Space Hulk: Deathwing

If you own Vermintide 2, you'll automatically get a 80% off coupon on Space Hulk: Deathwing on Steam and vice versa! The cross-promotion will last 10 days from April 10th at midnight PST until April 20th at 11:59 PM.

Go in the inventory of your Steam profile and find your 80% off coupon!

Now is your time to get into the Warhammer universes and discover two unique experiences. You’ve mastered the art of fighting the Ratmen, why not try your hand against the Genestealers?
