HELLDIVERS™ 2 News

Helldivers 2 players have managed to kill two billion Terminids so quickly that people are, er, actually trying to do maths

Good news, people who aren't fans of creepy-crawlies. Helldivers 2's latest Major Order tasked players with casually wiping out two billion Terminids, and in less than 24 hours, intergalctic pest control has prevailed. It's done so in such concerningly rapid fashion, in fact, that some people have actually felt the need to do maths.

Equipped with armour sets that definitely should have the intended passives now and crews that can pack boxes faster than anyone ever has before, the forces of Super Earth have seemigly taken bug killing to new levels. Almost bizzarely high levels.

As Arrowhead's now confirmed via a tweet, which is a slightly more subdued follow-up to several posts and reddit threads which can't quite seem to agree on whether this took around 12 hours or something closer to 14, the bugs are now ticked off as being dead. So, that's two billion bugs "dead in less than a day", since the Major Order only arrived yesterday afternoon, in what Arrowhead's calling an "inspiring display of pre-emptive self-defence".

Chill out, Helldivers 2 players calling for fixes over new stuff, Arrowhead's "figuring it out" and plans to do a better job of delivering both

Hey you. Have you been moaning about a need for more bug fixes to arrive for Helldivers 2 recently? Well, if you've been one of the vocal folks calling for Arrowhead to stop putting out new content until it's tended to all of the lingering issues, that isn't going to happen. Though, the studio's CEO has pledged that it's aiming to get better at juggling the two.

If you're out of the loop, while the Democratic Detonation Warbond has recently arrived in-game, along with some fresh ship module upgrades, there have still been plenty of bugs and issues doing the rounds as folks have been trying to enjoy their new stuff. From fire damage being a bit too, er, damaging, to one of the latest armour sets having originally shipped with the wrong passive, Arrowhead's been managing to whack some of the issues, but, for better or worse, that hasn't stopped some players getting frustrated.

Casually popping up in a Reddit thread (thanks, GamesRadar) about the reaction to the reaction to Arrowhead's recent work on the game, CEO Johan Pilestedt unsurprisingly ruled out the suggestion some vocal critics among the playerbase have been making - that the studio should temporarily shift focus solely to fixing the list of issues currently on its plate, before it puts out more new warbonds and updates.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has outlined how it attempts to balance monthly live service drops of Warbonds alongside the ongoing bug fixes a game like this needs, saying it's "difficult to maintain our cadence" due to things like the relatively small size of the team.

Good news, Helldivers 2's latest patch ensures the Ground Breaker armour's no longer a victim of accidental false advertising

It's another day, so here's news of another Helldivers 2 patch that does things. What are those things? Well, a lot of the usual kinds of fixes, plus a passive swap that stops one of the latest warbond's armours from accidentally being a magnet for buyer's confusion, if not buyer's remorse.

If you're out of the loop, the Democratic Detonation Warbond arrived in-game last week, bringing with it a bunch of useful tools to help you continue to battle the returned automatons, even if you can't afford the latest ship module upgrades. Sadly, up until this latest patch arrived, if you bought one of the armour sets on offer, you weren't quite getting what you paid for.

As detailed in the notes for patch 01.000.203, the main thing it does is resolve a bit of a mixup regarding the CE-27 Ground Breaker armour. You see, it'd accidentally shipped with a 'servo-assisted' passive, instead of the 'engineering kit' one it was advertised as featuring.
