HELLDIVERS™ 2 News

Helldivers 2's latest order might be a bit of a struggle, but at least players have discovered a new Olympic sport - Factory Strider parkour

While Helldivers 2's latest Major Order is proving a bit of a tough one, especially compared to some of the other stuff that the forces of Super Earth have been tasked with recently, folks are still finding ways to keep their sprits up. In a couple of cases the soultion to boosting morale looks to have been a simple one - try some Factory Strider parkour.

Yup, forget about trying to convince all of your casual pals that they need to pitch in and help out with defense of a bunch of planets, the clever - if as risky as you'd expect - tactic of landing on the big Automaton not quite-AT-ATs looks to getting more and more popular. To be fair, it looks a bit more fun than pummeling these tough foes with artillery from ground level.

A couple of different players have shared clips of them essentially goofing off atop Factory Striders to the game's subreddit recently, but the one I think really shows the potential of Factory Strider parkour as something that could be included as an event if the Terminids can ever be held off long enough to organise some kind of Helldiver Olympics comes from user CrzyDonkey.

MSI Claw performance just got a big boost, including in Helldivers 2

The MSI Claw hasn't had the smoothest of launches. Intel's big push to cement a place in the burgeoning handheld gaming PC market arrived too late, with too little performance, and with too high a price. However, in some regions it's already seeing big price drops and now there's a new MSI Claw driver update that provides some much-needed performance improvements.

The new MSI Claw driver update increases frame rates in games such as Helldivers 2, Diablo 4, and Hogwarts Leacy, as well as several other major recent titles. This doesn't immediately send the MSI device to the top of our best handheld gaming PC guide, but it could become a contender if we see further improvements quite soon.

Chill out, Helldivers 2 hardcores trying to get casual players to stick to the battle plan, Arrowhead's doing what it can to help out

Some Helldivers 2 Major Orders are harder than others. Kill something like two billion bugs? Easy. Co-ordinate the defense of 10 planets in one go? Not so easy. Unfotunately, the latter's the latest mission folks have been given, and getting everyone to stick to a plan has proven a step too far for the community, even if it does sound like Arrowhead's doing what it can to help the hardcores who're determined to play armchair General.

Yup, even though they're fresh off a maths-inducing bout of Terminid destruction and now have armour sets that definitely should boast the intended passives, the myriad whims of the average video game player are now standing in the way of Super Earth victory. And there's nothing you can really do about it.

While the game's community has, as of writing, managed to defend of four of the ten planets involved in this latest chapter of the Galactic War, there's been a bunch of arguing going on when it's come to devising with the ideal strategy to keep these worlds safe and, more importantly, getting enough players to buy into it.

Helldivers 2 dev discusses the possibility of bigger squads

The four-player squad limit in Helldivers 2 creates just the right amount of anarchy. Stratagems are falling from the skies, bullets are whizzing past your helmet from every direction, and in the midst of all the chaos you're trying to communicate with your comrades without accidentally dropping an air strike on their shiny metal domes. So what would Helldivers 2 be like if there were more than four of you? Turbulent, to say the least.
