Helldivers 2 players did a good job taking down the Automatons, but now the game is technically impossible to Platinum

Helldivers 2 players have successfully taken down all of the Automatons, but now they face a new problem: not being able to Platinum the game.

Last week, Helldivers 2 players came together to take down all of the enemy bots as part of the game's latest major order. Since then, there have been some crashes that have been affecting later stages of operations, but the good news is that a fix is coming "very soon." In the meantime, though, some players over on the game's subreddit have noticed a slightly more difficult problem to deal with (thanks, TheGamer). With all of the bots gone, it seems that the game is technically impossible to Platinum, as there are three achievements that all require something to do with the bots.

None of the achievements are particularly complex, but with the bots being gone, there's no actual way to get them right now. The three achievements affected are:

Helldivers 2's bots have been, er, "eradicated" by players, despite a wave of mission-concluding crashes that should be fixed "very soon"

Good news, Helldivers 2 players have apparently managed to, er, totally eradicate the galaxy’s supply of angry automatons by completing that game’s latest major order. Are they actually gone forever? Who knows, but I can tell you that a fresh hotfix is incoming to rectify some crashes that’ve been affecting the late stages of operations.

Yup, even though they’re yet to get their hands on any of the fresh ordinance coming as part of the new Democratic Detonation Warbond that'll be available from April 11 onwards, they’ve done a thing. Though, the Terminids have immediately stepped in as the latest threat to fight, so it’s not like things are totally chill on the space front.

“You did it, Helldivers. Operation Swift Disassembly was a success! With the bots eradicated and bugs contained, the galaxy is free once more,” an entirely non-suspicious tweet from Arrowhead declared following the completion of the major order to liberate Maia, Tibit and Durgen. While the mission was explicitly framed as an “all-out push” to destroy the automatons, folks have naturally been pretty suspicious that, you know, that’d actually come to fruition.

Don't worry, a fix for the frustrating Helldivers 2 crashes is coming

If you've patiently been waiting to hear how Arrowhead is getting on with the ongoing Helldivers 2 crashes since the last big update, the team behind one of the biggest Steam surprises of 2024 has given us an update. While it doesn't sound like a hotfix for these crashes is going to drop at any moment, it looks like we also won't have to wait much longer.

New Helldivers 2 Warbond arrives next week, includes explosive crossbow you'll blow yourself up with

Nice, there’s a fresh Helldivers 2 warbond set to drop next week, just in case you’re already sick of the Quasar Cannon and want to ditch it in favour of some new weapons. To be fair, who could turn down the likes of an explosive crossbow and a grenade pistol that might give you a bit more bang for your buck than you expect.

Yup, just in case you needed more reason to stop moaning about the recent Slugger shotgun nerf, here’s some more new gear to try out while you battle to secure planets like Maia and Estanu. It all looks pretty cool too, even if Arrowhead might be slowly turning the game into a medieval warfare sim.

There’s a rundown of the contents of this warbond, fittingly dubbed the ‘Democratic Detonation Premium Warbond’, in a new PlayStation Blog post. In terms of firepower, the big additions weapon-wise will be the BR-14 Adjudicator Rifle, the R-36 Eruptor Rifle, and the CB-9 Exploding Crossbow.
