Lost Ember News

Hi all!

You might have noticed that Lost Ember is finally playable on the Steam Deck! :) The game had a couple of video issues on the Steam Deck, but we've finally found a way to eliminate those soooo:

- Lost Ember is now running on Steam Deck! :LostEmberIcon:
- Alongside the development for both Steam Deck and the VR version, a variety of fixes made their way into the new build. Especially a couple of crashes and collision bugs should no finally be fixed

Lost Ember VR Edition is out now! And the best thing is, if you own Lost Ember, it's automatically yours! It is a separate title on Steam, but you should already find it in your Steam library. Find it here:

Hi Community! We have big news today!

We created our own indie publishing label called Mooneye Indies in order to help narrative and wholesome indie games reach the audience they deserve. Way too often the most wonderful little gems fly under the radar even though the community is out there looking for beautiful wholesome games or meaningful narrative experiences. Especially small indie teams struggle with reaching enough people, to make all their blood, sweat and tears worth it when the title finally sees the light of day. We learned so much while self-publishing Lost Ember worldwide and on multiple platforms simultaneously, that we decided to share what we learned and help others.



Cut to the chase though :D We are completely in love with our first title as a publisher and could not have found a more wholesome game to start out with.

We have a brand new patch for you and it's a big one! This last patch really demanded quite a bit more attention than we had planned. But let's get right to it:

• NEW FEATURE: we implemented a minimalistic game mode that allows you to turn off all ingame commentary of your spirit companion. This way you can fully concentrate on the visuals and figure out what exactly happened all by yourself. This feature can be toggled on and off at any time during the game, so we urge everyone to try it out!
  
• A lot of fixes: we've been combing through all your reports of crashes or other bugs and managed to fix a whole bunch of them! If you experienced a crash that stopped you from getting through the game, please try it again after this patch!
  
• Controls: invert vertical AND horizontal. Finally!
  
• Controls: hummingbirds now have a way faster default speed (without dashing)
  
• Performance improvements: a lot of areas should run smoother on older systems and loading hitches should be reduced
  
• New language: we added Turkish language support
  
• Fixed some typos and missing translations for various languages
  

[h3]NOTE for Windows 7 users:[/h3] since Microsoft dropped support for Windows 7 a while ago, we cannot build the game with the necessary Win 7 redistributables anymore. Unfortunately this means that (at this point) you cannot benefit from new patches anymore. We are still working on this and are trying to figure out if there is something we can do, but until then we added a new branch to the Lost Ember depot to allow you to play the latest version before this patch. To access this branch, just right-click Lost Ember in your Steam library, go to Properties -> Betas and choose "windows7" from the dropdown list.
