Valve still isn't committing to rescheduling TI10 and Dota Pro Circuit

Dota 2 developer Valve has admitted it still "can't yet commit" to rescheduling The International 10 or the Dota Pro Circuit as the situation around the coronavirus pandemic is still too unpredictable.

While a lot of major esports have seen their premium events move online, such as the Call of Duty League's Championship, Valve has refused to do the same for TI10, which was meant to have taken place last week in Sweden. There is still no time frame as to when Dota esports fans can expect to see the world's best teams do battle at TI10, despite other premium tournaments such as the League of Legends World Championship committing to an offline tournament later this year, albeit with teams in a bubble system and potentially no audience.

"In following how the pandemic has been developing globally, the recent increase in the unpredictability of COVID-19 means we can't yet commit to new dates for TI10 and the DPC," a post to the Dota 2 Twitter account reads. "We share your eagerness in returning to these events, and will announce updates as soon as we can."

This Dota 2 mod brings League of Legends' champions into Valve's MOBA

Which is the best MOBA, Dota 2 or League of Legends? Why not both. That's the thrust of a mod that merges the two MOBA games, bringing League of Legends into Dota 2.

Simply titled 'Dota 2 but League Heroes', the mod was made by i dont feel playing, and takes the roster of League of Legends champions, and inserts them into Valve's multiplayer game. The characters are matched like with like, as close as feasible, so you get Meepo as Teemo, and Annie as Lina, and so on. LoL content creator Buba 'RossBoomSocks' Corelli examined the modification on-stream, and gave it his seal of approval.

Using a team of Teemo, Nami, Tristana, Annie, and Veigar, he comments they actually look better in Dota 2, despite some slight glitches - Annie is a bit too short for her corresponding model. Predominantly a League player, Corelli talks about some of the wider differences between the two games, like Dota 2's custom games, that might make a mod like this interesting to keep up with. "Just thinking in my head, all the fun stuff you could do if League had a custom games thing, and a custom lobby," he says, adding: "There's items in Dota 2 that you'd never see in a million years on League of Legends, I'm looking forward to trying them out."

Dota 2 gets new battle pass goodies with Toy Butcher persona and announcer packs

Following the launch of the Dota 2 International 10 Collector's Cache Volume II earlier this week, another content drop for the MOBA game's battle pass has arrived in-game. A brand-new persona has arrived for a certain Meat Hook-wielding Hero - complete with a new character model and VO - along with a new announcer pack tying into the upcoming tournament.

The new Dota 2 persona pack is for lucky Hero Pudge, and re-imagines him as 'The Toy Butcher'. It's pretty close to the concept art for the skin Valve revealed along with the battle pass itself earlier this year, though there are a couple of key changes in the character model, which really bring Pudge's spooky persona as a barely-stitched together doll on a mission to life. His spray of lurid green hair is intact, though it's now a bundle of fibrous ragdoll hair atop Pudge's puckered, glaring face. Gulp.

Requirements for picking up the new persona pack are pretty high - you'll need to reach level 255 - but it does include "an all-new model, animations, and voice performance", Valve announces.

The Toy Butcher

From deep inside the toy box, a frightening plaything joins the fray. Available now to all Battle Pass owners who reach level 255, the new Toy Butcher Persona for Pudge features an all-new model, animations, and voice performance.

Feared amongst the fluff-stuffed denizens of the toy box, The Toy Butcher stalks the corners and shadows of the bin, always on the hunt for his next kill. Every toy knows that once the butcher gets his hook in you, your stuffing and your life are forfeit - like as not to be left strewn about the lanes as the plushy monster jaunts happily away from your lonely, ragged remains.

Claim the new persona now in your Battle Pass and don't forget to pick up the Voice of The International Announcer Pack on your way, available to all Battle Pass Owners at level 75 and above, to herald your next victory.
