Dota 2's grandest competition of them all, The International 10, is already making history months ahead of opening its doors. The tournament was scheduled to take place from August 18 until August 23, but was indefinitely delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It seems likely that Dota 2: The International 10 will now take place in the early months of 2021, however it may go ahead, as with many tournaments, without fans. As this will be the tenth instalment of the culmination of the Dota Pro Circuit, fans expected great things.
The International's prize pools are partially crowdfunded by players. 25% of battle pass sales and related purchases go towards the prize pool after Valve has put in an initial amount. This year, Valve awarded $1.6 million to the pot, but on August 26 fans had already created the biggest prize pool in esports history by taking the total up to $34,330,068.

If you're a Warcraft 3 fan, you might recall a popular - and fast-paced - custom game called 'Fufu United Ninja All Stars'. It's a "free-for-all" mode full of mayhem and antics that gets 12 players battling it out to be the ninja to score a winning number of kills first. If you're a fan, or think you could be, there's good news - it's come to a whole other multiplayer game, too: this time, Dota 2.
Creator LowBott Games has posted the new Dota 2 custom game mode on the MOBA game's Steam Workshop. Called 'Fufu Ninja', it's based on the Warcraft 3 Fufu United Ninja All Stars custom game, and, as the modder explains: "In Fufu Ninja, there are no allies". Gulp. The way it works is by pitting ten ninjas together in a match, each of whom has only a single HP to be going on with, and seeing who can be the first to reach 50 kills.
It's jam-packed with "fast-paced, free-for-all action" and the "ultimate test of ninja skills", according to the description - though it's worth noting, it's easy enough to pick up, but tricky to master. Eek.

Awesome Dota 2 map mod 'Aghanim's Pathfinders' just got a big update that adds even more heroes to the custom map. Each added hero comes with a variety of unique shards that are, according to modder Friday, "meticulously designed and programmed". The mod itself is a custom version of gauntlet-style event game mode 'Aghanim's Labyrinth', which was made available this past summer.
The roster of heroes, which Friday describes as "ever-expanding", currently includes Venomancer and Juggernaut, with Windranger "coming soon". Fans of the mod have also set up a Discord server to chat about it, and offer feedback as it progresses with updates and additions.
We recently saw Dota 2's latest battle pass get extended. This came alongside a new content drop, Immortal Treasure III, which featured a bunch of new toys for heroes Clockwerk, Gyrocopter, Lich, Oracle, Pugna, and Treant. This month also brought with it a new Arcana bundle for Lyralei, the Windranger. This featured a new hero model, some items, and a loadout pedestal, among other goodies.
